Unlike Homer, Arezzo is far too benign to retaliate. Plus, he never learned magic that would have allowed him to turn the anvil into something else. :(

I'm curious as to how Arezzo came to be, since Homer doesn't know he's the father. Does Arezzo know?

Well, tried to get this done for Easter, but work was completely draining leading up to it. Let's go with the Eastern Orthodox church and say it's this upcoming Sunday.

Digging up the comic references was tough, even harder was making them work (didn't work as well as I hoped).

She really is rocking the pink fur there! Came out wonderful! Though what happened to her horn? Is it able to be removed?

Her horn is just as retractable as her spikes. Does it make sense? No, but I haven't come across anyone question this about Baraka from Mortal Kombat, either. Seriously, that really gets me wondering, especially since the newest game shows that they're breakable and quickly regrow!

Though recently I wondered, if they were all RPG monsters, what would they drop? Among the ideas was Mirage's horn. My mind can be oddly random at times. shrug

I was thinking more like it'd only be used like a synthesis/forge item. In Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, just about every enemy can drop an item somehow related to them, such as hearts and horns, which can be used for item and weapon synthesis.

Tired, bored, but still had a creative spark somehow. For longer than I've had that Easter image, had the idea of Mirage having different horn styles. Also went with thinking of them like equips, sort of like Tails of Babylon.
Got her regular, Curled, Ethereal, Spinal, Curved, Marble, and Bloom.

I was surprised by how simple Curled was. Just a few line manipulations. Ethereal, that was super easy, just trace a new outline but without the inner lines and fill in, with the "background" of the base being on a different layer. Spinal and Curved were headaches to figure out. Marble, I just had fun with the different effects available to me. Bloom took a bit to figure out. Initially wanted it to look like coral, but quickly decided not to torture myself. Eventually decided on this, then went with the idea of it "blooming" from Mirage's original horn. Even made it match her eye color.

Don't think any of them will be permanent, though.

Though can we say the marbled one is a horn since it technically doesn't look hornish.

Hehe, cool comic D-Rock. :D Looks like Eostre is taking the term "spring fever" to new heights. And boy, those pups grew fast!

I can imagine Mirage has those horns in a case in her room, each labelled for a day of the week like underwear.

As for Arezzo, the story I had in mind was just as needlessly convoluted as Homer's. Long ago, a scientist in Heaven did an experiment to see if a demigod could be artificially created. With Cerberus's permission, he took a sample of her hair and mixed it in a vat of cosmic magic(k) potions. The experiment failed and the vat was archived in storage.

Centuries later, the goat, snake, and lion that would become Homer were taking a break from their heavenly duties and stumbled across the vat. They thought it was just a bathtub (it wasn't labelled for reasons) and swam in it. The trio then “tested” some abandoned explosives. Unbeknownst to anyone, an infantile form emerged from the vat, but was blasted away to earth.

A lone old doe came across the baby and named him Arezzo. She raised him in solitude for 2 years before she died of old age, teaching him to be a kind loving individual capable of fending for himself. Ever since then, he lived alone, keeping his distance from hunters and making only a few friends (those not freaked-out by his incredible strength).

Much like Homer, Arezzo cannot be easily tracked by celestial beings. Demigods can only detect him with the 5 senses (within the limits of mortals) and cannot read his future/past. He is not aware of this or of his true origin. However, fate will see fit that he and Homer meet face-to-face…

Dang now I wanna see him trapped in the jello anvil.
Sure, why not?

That would be something. Homer sees Arezzo's potential and has him run 12 pranks. Steal Gale's shirt (underwear is not a thing), mess-up Rufus's stables, fetch Cerberus, etc.

A violin? That's an interesting choice from an Infernal (although the devil is supposed in some cultures to be a very talented musician).

Indeed. In fact, one of the songs that inspired Macabre was a violin piece. Devil's Trill Sonata. Cover image used featured the Devil playing a violin. The other was Danse Macabre, a song about the dancing dead.

Interesting, really. Despite the former, Macabre was initially a Celestial being. Just had a dark theme to him, like some interpretations of the Angel of Death. Over time, thought I'd get a more interesting character if I made him an Infernal instead. Added a neat dynamic to his relationship with Mirage, I thought.
