King just can't catch a break, can he?
Great job, Kavviyenta and dryideabat!

Insulting people has become old hat
for the local King and commander
in the strip by the great dryideabat
and the bright new talent, Kavvienta.
At least sniffing is finally out,
not that King ever thought it in;
but using your eyes over your snout
is still a bad way for Dogs to begin.
Insulting the Duchess is a bad move,
though not as bad as her baby-sitting.
I wonder what she is trying to prove
by this volunteering and then quitting?

LOL. This is one of the better guest strips I've seen.

Great job! I love how well you emulate Mr. Griffin's style. It's nice to see King and Duchess have made up some time since since their last encounter to where she was a potential sitter. My favorite part was Bailey remedying King's social blunder with violence, but upon reflection I realized it's a bit out of character for her. Retaliating with force is more like something Grape or Jessica would do. Bailey seems to me to be more easy going until she reaches her breaking point and then it's a safety hazard to be near her. I don't recall her having any middle ground between those.
The cape comes with the promotion.

Terrific strip! Now, I admit, I can't see the Duchess baby-sitting for anybody! Maybe Boris, but not herself. That trivial quibble aside, the "Facebark" pun gave me a laugh-out-loud moment and probably cured my insomnia cor the night....

Offer her enough money, and Duchess will take the job.

I don't think King has access to that much money.Argent wrote:Offer her enough money, and Duchess will take the job.

Check out Lightning Dogs on the Nerdyshow Podcast Network
It's an in-development animated series following a team of Anthro-Dogs trapped in the Wastelands of a ruined Earth.

I was referring to NHWeston's comment "I can't see the Duchess baby-sitting for anybody!"Bandit1990 wrote:I don't think King has access to that much money.Argent wrote:Offer her enough money, and Duchess will take the job.
Obviously the Ferrets would be hard up getting her to take the job *after* his slam, but I agree with NHWeston... they must have come up with some serious gravy to get her in the first place.

Folks might remember that King stiffed Peanut and Grape pretty badly after their session with the triplets. Still, they had enough to go on a date. The baby-sitting arc was truly rich and worth a repeat with a different guest victim, er, sitter. Duchess and Boris, however you got them to jump down the social ladder, would have been a real hoot.
Great Kitsune is another possibility (King would just hemorrhage!). Think of the possibilities for cosmic mayhem. Or, staying celestial, Cerberus and Eudoant (I keep pairing those two).
Sabrina and Tarot ... or Sabrina, Fido, and Spo. Spo's the same size as the puppies.
Fox and Mungo ... Fox is their uncle, right?
Sasha and Daisy? That could be seriously nuts on so many levels...
Again, this is a fun tangent, but don't forget our guest artist whose talent let all these mental lizards loose.

Re: 2018/06/15 - Every King Has His Day
Puns and art style aside. Okay never mind that, this is the better strip just from the art style and humor. Kudos to the artist(s).
Anyway, it’s worth mentioning the elephant in the room which is just how native King has become. When you look back at the comics, it is never really clear. Honestly King still has a pretty tight grip on his human half so I can’t see him sniffing or really bragging about just how dog like he has become. On that note, we really need to see King more just to have concrete evidence about where he stands on the dog/human scale. It’s been close to nine years so it’s time for the annual update.
Personally I feel like King loses what makes him special if he starts becoming more “dogish”

Who knew dogs were so up-to-date in technology? =P
all of the characters were drawn really well in this comic. <3
Now if you excuse, i gotta invent the Catstation.

King still having everyday troubles. Well, in the Housepets! world pets and animals do human things, so, there's no need to worry, Bailey. Just look at Keene and his (recently quit) business things, for example. Eheh, King still fails pretty much as a dog, he doesn't work well. Oh, you offended Duchess now... Well, somehow is it, King.

Have fun finding an internet provider that will sell their services to an animal!
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

Cool, this one made it.
While not ideal, Duchess does have experience comparable to dealing with puppies. She is dating Bino after all.
