Don't forget about Breel!
Re: 2018/01/19 - Forget You
I’m calling it, I say that the thing that will save the day is... love
(Yes, I’m aware of how cheesy that sounds, but hey it worked in Interstellar)

Ah, so that’s what this demon represents.
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.
Re: 2018/01/19 - Forget You
For a minute, I was thinking why didn't we forget everyone in the last comic? =P
Hopefully Breel can overcome this.

Stand tall, my friend,
though there be little hope,
though there be little chance
though there be no respite.
Stand tall, my friend.
Against the bitter wind you’ll cope.
Against the strongest tune you’ll dance.
Against the worst weary you’ll fight.
Stand tall, my friend.
When they say fall, you say nope.
When evil is a boil, you are the lance.
When dark hides it all, you see light.
Stand tall, my friend.
Help is coming.

A wordy daemon is certainly bad, but it could be worse. It could be reciting bad poetry while it's trying to kill you.

I think another teardrop of Breel will hit the mana while he fights the .... what was it name again, I forgot. (I'm sorry)

I was thinking Shadow, but a lot of people should figure by now that I'm rather obsessed with Persona 4.

What? Oh dear. No, that was meant to be a reference to the Nightmare Tendril, from Dreamkeepers.Welsh Halfwit wrote:No offence taken(!)leinglo wrote:A wordy daemon is certainly bad, but it could be worse. It could be reciting bad poetry while it's trying to kill you.

So... it’s main purpose is to be forgotten... or be reforgotten? Or trying to make Breel forget?
I have no clue what he means I’m not one to understand cryptic messages very good can someone explain it a little?

It's trying to make [REDACTED] forgotten, mayhaps? Remove him from existence in every sense of the word.jaquane101 wrote:So... it’s main purpose is to be forgotten... or be reforgotten? Or trying to make [REDACTED] forget?

I wonder, when the two huskies and Rufus will show up.
But if this is the manifestation of nothingness, does it mean it could wipe out the four angels forever?

Breel, it's Pete's mana, of course it's going to be wordy and self-centered!

Well, now we got a Rescue Mission... One that borders on suicide... Anyone think Jack Wall's Suicide Mission is fitting once we get to the Speech?
In all seriousness, at least we know what this guy is here for... To Drag Breel away. Great. Guess this guy is 'Celestial Games' all over again. Endbringer? More like a Satanic physical persona of 'Forget you'. (If one has Watched Coco, you'll get what I mean.)
If you say It's Keene's Fault, then It's also THEIR fault too!

It's Also Tarot's Fault for not explaining anything until everything escalated this much! It's Kitsune's Fault for leaving the Mana Pool after the game without bothering to remove it even though It's well within his power, and It's Breel's Fault for shedding Tears into the Mana pool while he was standing in it!Soerix wrote:It's all your fault, Keene! If Keene hadn't started another Temple Crasher event none of this would be happening. There would be no one in the mana chamber. There would be nothing for Tarot to explain. If Keene hadn't hurt Breel, there would be no tears. Keene decided that the slow hard way, through courts and public opinion wasn't good enough and tried to take the fast and easy route.John-056 wrote:Well, now we got a Rescue Mission... Wow, Argent, what great Jabberwocky ! Walt Kelly and Lewis Carroll would just beam !!
Breel stands to the deck, broken-hearted and totally unafraid.
You remember that episode in THE LAST UNICORN where they're facing the charging bull. The Wizard tries to turn the bull back with his magic, but it doesn't work. The leader accuses, "What good is magic if it doesn't work at a time like this?"
The wizard replies, "This is not a time for magic. This is a time for heroes!"
Regards.

And the guy's name in The Last Unicorn was Schmendrick the Magician.
Lír [as the Red Bull chases the Unicorn]: Do something! You have the power! I will kill you if you don't do something.
Schmendrick: I cannot, not all the magic in the world can help her now.
Molly Grue: Then what is magic for? What is the use of wizardry if it cannot even save a unicorn?
Schmendrick: That's what heroes are for.
Lír: Of course — that is exactly what heroes are for.

Oddly, I remembered it as "What use is magic if it can't save a unicorn?"
Perhaps that's a difference between the book and the movie?
Nope:
Perhaps that's a difference between the book and the movie?
Nope:
The Internet seems to have the same false memory of the phrase, a search for "if it can't save a unicorn" gets zillions of hits for the "magic" variant."Do something," a hoarse voice said to Schmendrick, as Molly had said it long ago. Prince L'ir stood behind him, his face bloody and his eyes mad. He looked like King Haggard. "Do something," he said. "You have power. You changed her into a unicorn — do something now to save her. I will kill you if you don't." He showed the magician his hands.
"I cannot," Schmendrick answered him quietly. "Not all the magic in the world can help her now. If she will not fight him, she must go into the sea with the others. Neither magic nor murder will help her."
Molly heard small waves slapping on the sand — the tide was beginning to turn. She saw no unicorns tumbling in the water, though she looked for them, willing them to be there. What if it is too late? What if they drifted out on the last ebb tide, out to the deepest sea where no ships go, because of the kraken and the sea-drake, and because of the floating jungles of wrack that tangle and drown even these? She will never find them then. Would she stay with me?
"Then what is magic for?" Prince L'ir demanded wildly. "What use is wizardry if it cannot save a unicorn?" He gripped the magician's shoulder hard, to keep from falling.
Schmendrick did not turn his head. With a touch of sad mockery in his voice, he said, "That's what heroes are for."
They could not see the unicorn for the hugeness of the Bull; but suddenly she doubled on her track and came flying up the beach toward them. Blind and patient as the sea, the Red Bull followed her, his hoofs gouging great ditches in the damp sand. Smoke and fire, spray and storm, they came on together, neither one gaining, and Prince L'ir gave a soft grunt of understanding.
"Yes, of course," he said. "That is exactly what heroes are for. [...]"

Re: 2018/01/19 - Forget You
...And what is stopping someone else from doing the same thing? If not Keene, how about a Human or a Pet, maybe even a PETA goon who thinks they're not doing enough 'good' and should start doing more?TeflonCougar wrote:If Keene hadn't started another Temple Crasher event none of this would be happening. I suppose he meant well, but they say the road to Hell is paved with good intentions and Keene seems to have open the expressway.
Besides, even If not, why doesn't anyone think why Keene would do this? I mean, he's done vile acts, and I don't think he's any better, but he does want to try and see what he's worked to do, become a reality, rather than dying half-way and having one of his thick as bricks male siblings take up the role? If they don't crack, they may let the power go to their head... Not to mention that aside from Lana, Keene is the only one relatively responsible among the Ferrets, and seems to be the only one wanting to keep his father's dream alive. What's to say the moment he dies, weither by age or getting assassinated by people who don't want his law passed, that everything he's done falls apart?
Once again, I am not thinking him any better for all he has done, but I am giving a reason why he is hellbent on doing it. Keep in mind that Babylon Gardens is an oddity If not a novelty, meaning that outside Babylon Gardens and certain areas, perhaps countries, Pets are NOT treated the way they are in Babylon Gardens. If I were to go out on a limb, they would likely be treated like Sasha is by her 'Dad' or as mere Pets, rather than Babylon Garden's way of treating them like tiny humans with fur.
And frankly, that statement is true, but keep in mind that Breel has a lack of understanding what Keene wants. I mean, he could have worded It better, but Breel was given the idea that Keene wants to rebuild everything by rewriting history from the words 'Equal Guns'... Which is the vibe I am getting from this, since The Forgotten seems to want to destroy everything... Or is just here to Take Breel to hell.
And onto the talk of 'Big Bad Keene making the poor Widdle Angel cry', need I remind you that Keene would have been more willing to listen, If they had actually explained more? Tarot is one thing, since she only was able to act when Keene was summoned, but Breel had every single chance to talk about the Mana Pool, to tell him about the issues behind It! He was there as an advisor, so why didn't he just warn Keene of those subjects when he is clearly aware of the Pool's Danger?
Instead, he does the stupidest action to the person he is advising: He kept stopping him. He kept preventing Keene from even putting a Finger in the Pool... And since Keene had been 'Fighting' Tarot beforehand, he felt betrayed, thinking Breel was only doing this to help Tarot... And was unaware of the real Risks. He knows only the Minor cases of It, since the "Experts" are busy being Vague and seemingly Hoity Totey about It.
Remember, Keene was civil, If not outright friendly and open to Breel, UNTIL Breel suddenly kept stopping him when he told Keene he 'Won't Stop Keene' at the start of this whole mess. Breel basically broke his promise to Keene, and Keene was rightfully angry at Breel, the one who said, "I am here to advise you, and will not Stop you.", then goes against him. I would be angry at anyone who told me they 'Won't Stop me from (e.g. Bungee Jumping)', only to grab me by the Scruff of the neck just when I have taken the Leap of Faith.

I think I have the solution to Nothingness. Someone brings in Daisy, wearing a daisy pattern swim cap as a hat. She always identifies herself "Hi, I'm Daisy." so has a strong sense of self. Add the Temple's magical augmentation of head gear, the aforementioned daisy pattern swim cap, and she becomes Double Daisy, so much Daisy that she is sealed against the power of Nothingness.

Nah, i'm focused on this outcome at the moment. Maybe in a one-off. =P
I'm guessing the heavenly Rufus and huskies have to get involved eventually.
As for the whole situation John is stating about Tarot and Breel egging Keene on... the problem here i find is how exactly would Tarot and Breel explain this to him beforehand if the comic presented itself? Did Tarot and Breel know this would happen? Breel i'm sure doesn't look like he knows either, but he knows something would happen if Keene got his hands on the mana.

Re: 2018/01/19 - Forget You
Hardly the stupidest thing. Keene wasn't ready. He was too wild in his attempts to get into the pool. If he had stopped and formed a cohesive and thoughtful proposal for his use of the mana, Breel would have let him in. And yes, he stopped the ferret, but did so in a jovial manner, there was no malice in his demeanour. I don't think Keene lashed out in real anger, I think it was frustration at the perceived interference, much like a small child gets angry with a parent for not letting them do something they want. Much like the hypothetical child Keene doesn't see the actions are for his safety and well-being.
And was unaware of the real Risks. .
Of course none of this really matters. They can discuss who did or did not do what over hot chocolate after the world ending doom is back on its leash.
Wondering. If Keene and Breel make up and Breel drops a happy tear, will all go back as it was? Will Keene see how dangerous controlled power use is? (The uncontrolled part being Breel's tear. No one could have predicted that or I think Breel would have been more careful.)
Then there is always the possibility that this is Pete's Celestial hidden camera show "Totally Terrified Mortals"
Re: 2018/01/19 - Forget You
Yeah, I'm kinda looking to a Kitsune intervention. Maybe Breel knows the vulnerabilities of an Infernal as yet undisclosed. ...and maybe the camel duo have a role as well in the solution.
...and, TeflonCouger, thanks ... any viz for Daisy gets my applause!
