Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Wow. Definitely a lot. Thanks, Obbl! I'll probably resort to shrinking them all down and arranging them on the image. This'll be interesting.
UPDATE: Here we are. Rearranged a lot of the script, and since I don't know how the language works, I don't know if I messed it up.

Looks fine There's no spaces or punctuation in their writing, so you can pretty much move things wherever.
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Alright, thanks. So, which should we go with?
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Well, the first one is, "You are a massive nerd for bothering to translate this," and the second one is, "Dad, it's Sabrina. CALL ME." I don't remember what y'all were thinking of doing with them. Some Easter egg thing I guess.
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Boss drop upon beating the Monolith. What we do from there was never cemented.
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Concepts for boss drops for El Fin and Dingerpeaje.
I'll add a feather to the hat in post. I'll rework Pete's Feather for that. How do they look?

Lookin good so far! In the final product, I'd add a few pins to the voodoo doll just to drive the point home, but besides that you're good to go!
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Somehow didn't consider pins. Thanks!
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Going to be slow this month due to christmas gifts still being too awesome to ignore (I blame my cousin). My focus while i have downtime will be on the battle system for now and then focus on the tower in Febuary. Also have to see if everything converted to RPG Maker MV neatly.

Okay, here we are.
Added in a recolored Pete's Feather and even added a piece of candy for the heck of it.
Actually kind of cute.

Lookin' good man! Really digging the lighting on em'! It's also nice that we got the candy in there as well.
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Thanks. The lighting on the hat was interesting. I had to figure out how light would hit it without a reference. I just had to add the candy. Initially, I was going to do a candy cane under the feather, then decided to make my job a bit easier.
As for the doll, I was initially going to do the colors to be the same as Peanut, but then I decided to use the color picker and used the palette from the Copy Cloth. It's rare for a voodoo doll to be ornate.

A thumbs up to this art! Can't wait to see how these will play a role in the game.
http://valito.deviantart.com/ my deviant gallery, nope there's no housepets in it
Unless you like Lilo & Stitch, kinda wish to see the experiments in housepets style

Got some outlines.
I went with a new method of doing these, using a mannequin sketch I made from a website I found. I'll try to make the rest of the armor in this method.
Based on the original look for the K-9 vests.

Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Great job on the dimensions! The second looks sort of like a treasure chest when not being worn,
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Got 'em. Let's see what I manage in the coming sets. Since I'm going digital now, I'll post outlines instead of sketches to get final word.
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Super impressive. really like the way they came out. They look nearly identical to the comic :3

We'll, that's what I was aiming for.

Nice job, D-Rock.
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Full team revival.
Very rare find, fully revives the team upon defeat.
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Sorry for posting so soon, but I got some more updates that I want your opinions on.
Fixed up the shadows a bit. Now...
I've been wanting to redo Peanut's weapons for a bit now, and I found an image of the ball that Peanut plays with in the first book. Turns out there, it has a star design as opposed to a smaller circle. Also, I found a new plug-in for my art program that can wrap an image to one of three shapes, in this case a ball. This in only a test, but thoughts?
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
The ball reminds me of that ball from Toy Story
WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Yep, just different colors.
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
I like how you put the fish/bone tag on the coin however it feels more like "points" or a power up
WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Looking great, both the revival coin and the new ball.
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Okay, while I have internet connection;
Chest Protector
Hero Armor
Scale Armor
Shield Armor
Tank Armor
Pretty easy to see which were the first ones to be made. Really not sure how to go about the rest of these. And hopefully my internet connection doesn't suddenly up and die again.
Cheated these into existence by manipulating a 3D Render plug-in I found.

... Whoever decided to add a cannon to the tank armor is really literal about it. x3
Neat designs. Shield armor looks like something out of the Avengers. =P

Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
I actually repurposed one of the submitted shields for the Shield armor. Didn't even alter the design that much. As for the tank armor, I couldn't think of a way to portray it other than this. Reminded me of the Armored Core mechs. At least, the first ones. All I had for real reference to those was a demo disc I used to have.
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
They look awesome, the Hero armor makes me think of He-Man sort of, hahah, I love it!
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Someone needs to do a He-Man parody with Housepets now. By the Power of Babylon!
Anyway, here we are.
I do have a flat version of Dragon's Vow, but I haven't been able to work the 3D effect to my favor in that.

King takes the Orga Blader and is like "By the power of Babylon, I HAVE THE POWER!"

Your comments about the tank armor made me think of this.
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
That looks awesome! Should I take a look into the Armored Core series? I mean, they generally good? Sort of liked the demo we had.
Also, is it alright if we use this for the game?

go ahead.
as for the games, I prefer AC3 and it's spinoffs the best, but those were all PS2 games.

Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Well, this is how it ended up looking with the outline.
I ended up making some pretty big changes to the side visible to the viewer. Good look or try again? I'm thinking of what I could do to that middle part of the top.
Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
It looks a bit big to be chest armor, doesn't it?

..Chest armour with a 40mm Anti Tank Cannon made out of a tank turret.. somewhere in the distance, Orks are shouting for More Dakka.....

Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Well, from what I've seen, Armored Core was quite stylized. And as for practicality, when has any design submitted by me or Buster been truly practical?

Re: Housepets! Tails of Babylon! * Developer's Thread *
Still..40mm gun..Now if it was a GAU-8 Brrt gun (A-10 Warthog minigun) then I'd be saying, "Okay, enuff dakka.."..Jt's impratical, but then again, you're wearing a tank turret..People have no room to argue against the Dakka.
