Option 1. Tell them that it doesn't matter if they're happy there - they're family.

Well, from what I've been told, 90% of my stories tend to have "heartbreaking" scenes. :? But don't worry! I've also been told it's usually quite rewarding in the end!... Though I'm not really in full control of this story, it's not up to me to earn a happy ending, that's all on you guys. ;) This chapter is just teaching you how to deal with any and all situations and choices in the game, that includes hard ones. :(

On a side note, you'll notice that this scene is going to be going rather quickly. Think fast, but be rational.

You come to a quick, but obvious answer.

Charlie: Yes, so long as I have you guys, everything--

Bravo: SEE? We're FINE! He's FINE! Everyone's FINE! You know that!

Dad: Bravo, please, you don't understand. It's not as easy as just being together. This is no way for a pup to live, and besides, it's not s--

Bravo: I don't care! You cant just move us around like we're just some property, he needs his brothers-- he needs us! We can all make it together!

Mom: Bravo, please listen to us for a second!

What's happening??? What are they talking about???:

2)"What's he talking about?"
3)"Bravo, calm down!"

I think the only way we're going to calm Bravo down is to switch to Bravo and listen! It's only getting worse, guys - he might stab himself in the eye!

Bravo is getting very worked up, almost as if he knows (or thinks he knows) what's going on. I say we go with option two.

So, it seems that my fears were correct; mom and dad can't support the three. Bravo's mental state is too low for much to work. He's too emotionally worked up. I doubt switching to him would make things better, and at the same time I doubt that he can be calmed down right now by anyone.

Charlie's the only one who has no idea what's been going on. I'm torn between 2 and 5. It's usually better to ask the sources, though it's something that they don't want to talk about. Echo is much calmer, but the same issue remains.

No one expects "THE CASE INQUISITION!". Ask what in dog's name is going on! #2.

Also, just so I can make sure I am reading this right, but it SOUNDS like they are looking at selling/giving one of the trio to another family. If that's the case, I don't think it would be the end of the world for them.... at the same time, we would love to see the threesome stick together.

(Man, been so long since I had time to check on this. Looking great! Too bad I missed out on so much.)

Sorry for the long wait everyone! Here's the new update! It's just been kinda hard to get myself to work on this recently due to the fact that I was trying to get back into the swing of actually posting stuff for my webcomic Cheetah Kid! and because, well , this recent arc hasn't been my favorite. It hasn't kept me in that "Housepets! hype" like the comic usually does. Also the first chapter of this game is, as you can tell, kinda sad at times. When I was starting the game I was in the mood for this kind of story, but as I'm working on Cheetah Kid! I've been in a more fun mood. But don't worry, the light hearted Housepets! feel is still present after this chapter :D But for now:

Charlie: "Move us around"? What's he mean? Mom? Dad?

Mom: Charlie--

Bravo: THEY'RE TRYING TO GET RID OF YOU CHARLIE! They think your the reason we've been so low on money, that getting rid of you would somehow make things better! IT'S STUPID!

Echo: Hey-- HEY! Bravo, this really isn't something you should just drop on him, we don't even--

Bravo: NO ECHO, HE NEEDS TO KNOW! I'd rather he know now then when they toss him in some sort of pound or something!

Image

Mom: Bravo, you know it's not that simple! Please, let us explain--

Bravo: I already know everything I need to know! You two NEVER wanted to bring him here! I was the one that had to beg you to take both Echo and Charlie, you were gonna leave Charlie at the adoption center! You were gonna separate them!

Mom: We told you we could only afford one more pet Bravo! You knew this well before we even went to the center!

Bravo: What, so this is MY fault now?!

Image

Dad: Alright, you know what? That's ENOUGH from you Bravo! We will not have this conversation with you three if you can't even sit down and have a civil discussion! I will not tolerate this behavior from ANY of you! Go to your room, eat your dinner, and go to bed. If you can learn to calm down and talk to us like good pets, THEN we will talk!

Bravo: DON'T TRY TO SILENCE ME! If you think I'll just let you change the subject, then--

Dad: Echo, please take Bravo and Charlie to your room. Charlie... I'm sorry you had to hear this.

Bravo: Phht, like Echo's gonna listen to you now that--

Echo: Bravo, we're going.

Bravo: What?! But... BUT ECHO THEY--

Echo: We're going, Bravo.

Image

Bravo: FINE! Come on Charlie, let's go back to our room, WHERE WE'LL ALWAYS BE.

*Bravo makes sure to grab his food before storming out, obtained "Dinner"!*

Echo: Charlie, we should probably go now...

Charlie:...

Image

The three of you headed up to your room. Bravo was rather quick about it, but Charlie and Echo lingered behind. Bravo made sure to wait until you were all well in the room and then slammed the door behind you, as if to make a point. Charlie took the chair and set it up by the table, and sat in it for a long while, completely silent. No one spoke a word. You could hear your parents talking rather loudly downstairs, you can only assume they're discussing what to do about the situation, possibly even arguing. After a long while, Bravo and Echo look to each other both with the same thought:

What should they do?
1. Comfort Charlie as Echo
2. Comfort Charlie as Bravo
3. Give Charlie some time to think
4. Confront Bravo on his behavior
5. Confront Echo for not defending Charlie
6. Have everyone go to bed
7. Discuss situation

A'ight someone needs a big ol' tub of CHILL THE HECK OUT. 4.

And then we got to comfort Charlie as ECHO because Bravo seriously just needs to shut it, sit down, And chill for a moment.

On the bright side, when figured out which one of them has the shortest fuse as it were.

4. While Charlie does have a right to know, an outburst wasn't the right way to go about it.
Also, just found this, and before I caught up I was certain there was some sort of sleeping pill in the food so that we wouldn't be awake when shenanigans happened.

Hey, you learn a lot from playing Telltale games. They tend to help you a lot in these sorts of situations...Though sometimes that overly paranoid feeling can be wrong...A lot.

Never played a Telltales game, so I wouldn't know.

Also, while I'm currently sticking to my vote, Naro's suggestion has merit. Charlie won't forget Bravo's outburst.

Echo: Okay, Bravo, what was that?

Bravo: I said I wasn't gonna let them separate you two, and I meant it. If no one was gonna say it, then I was!

Echo: But we don't even know if that's what they were planing or WHY they were thinking about doing it! You're jumping to conclusions way too fast, and frankly making them seem like the enemy isn't gonna make the situation any better for us! You need to remember to keep your cool Bravo.

Bravo: "Keep my cool?!" I'm as "cool" as I'd ever be in this situation, and I'm NOT budging on this! I swear I'm the only one acting sane around here!

Echo: Look it's understandable to be mad, but this is going to far. I mean -- ARE YOU STILL PICKING AT YOUR FOOD?!

Bravo: Yeah! Why wouldn't I? You made it seem all suspicious and never talked about it again! They might have tried to slip some sort of sleeping pills into our food so they could sweep Charlie off to Dog knows where while we were snoozing!... and no, this does not make me any less sane than I previously stated.

Echo: Well ya know what, I don't think you've been showing that "police dog material" Sergeant Ralph told you about. What would HE have to say about your behavior, huh?

Bravo: I... look this isn't like... THAT'S NOT FAIR! LOW BLOW! I didn't see YOU trying to help out back there anyway! You weren't doing anything to try and convince them not to separate us!

He seems to be on the defensive now...
1. Remind him of the 'stress control trick'
2. "Did you even consider Charlie's feelings?"
3. "Don't try to change the subject!"
4. ★Expose Contradiction★
