But...why did Sasha lose her mind in the first place? Sure, props to Tarot for taking Occam's razor to get to the solution, but I can't help but feel like a little more analysis could've helped in finding the cause.

Which Fox really needs right now. Sasha may be back to normal, but unless Fox can get some more concrete evidence to support his actions he's probably gonna lose his job (Heck, he might end up losing it anyway), and Sasha will still end up...hm, actually, how would the law apply to an animal attempting murder on another in this world?

Is this year's Christmas strip going to end with Fox in jail? And maybe a reveal on the true mastermind?

Here's the thing, aside from some circumstantial evidence, which is not entirely conclusive, there is no proof (that would hold credibility in a court of law) that she actually attempted the murder. Now that she is no longer openly confessing it, the likelihood of her being criminally charged has been reduced from 99%, to probably something like 20%. Now fox on the other hand.... sigh... maybe that puppy-dog face might be of some use with the K9-Unit Manager?

The force is with Me, for I have known Sasha was not in her own mind. All kinds of outside influences must've done Her inside damage, and She knew nothing of it under trance. Now to find out: what was the cause? Was it possession from a spirit? Or hypnosis well hidden from the victim?

If this were a different story, I'd say no chance. Hypnosis isn't capable of even a tenth of the things fiction claims it can do. However, this is a story where magic is real. It's possible hypnosis was used to put her in a trance, where her mental defenses might be lower, and thus whoever's behind this could do a lot more to her.

Thinking of this from a cartoon perspective, Sasha confessing everything makes sense. I find it a little bothersome but interesting as well that Fox asked the correct question this time. Last time he tried to get her to stop confessing to damaging the car. This time he asked her to confess about hurting Milton, which she admitted she didn't want to. Granted, it's possible that if she was brainwashed she would be willing to admit that she wanted to kill Milton. I'm starting to think that Fox might've thought of that as well and went to Tarot first to make sure that question didn't end up getting shot down by a brainwashed Sasha as well, but did he really clue in on this at the motorcycle scene with Sasha? That's a heck of a gamble he came up with.

Maybe they didn't had any handcuffs, since Mungo and Fox were just supposed to help an inspector with finding clues at the crime scene.
On the other hand the leashes do make sense, since we already know even thought housepets have at least the mind of kids or teens, they're still required to wear leashes in some buildings. So in case they have to enter one of said buildings and they're two dogs, naturally they have to leashes.

Maybe they DO carry handcuffs, but Mungo just puts on the leashes as a subtle way to say "I still trust you enough to not treat you like a criminal, but I still need some control over you."
Althought I think the first think would be most likely.

Also WHAT would Sasha do with an ex-boyfriend?

I'm curious if the next comic will be titled "...Before the Fall" and the comic is about Fox's punishment -- cut to the precinct or something like that, Fox trying to explain his reasoning and no one believing him.

I know, for Fox was impossible to hit Sasha hardly on the head, just to see if do that could change something.

So, she was really the real Sasha, she was only like hypnotized... You've a very good intuition, Fox.

Anyway, what happened to her? Who hypnotized her? Now it's really time the for questions.

Yeah Mungo, Fox did a great job, but I understand you, he's going to have disciplinary troubles...

Okay, that's a little harsh.(and I'm not just saying this because I like Scrappy..Which I kinda did.).

In other news, Mungo isn't out of the pot yet since ya know..BROKE DOWN THE FRONT DOOR TO A HOUSE just on the whim that maybe they were still in there...It was a correct whim, but still..That's coming outta his paycheck...Also circumstational evidence accounts for jack diddly squat in a court of law usually(unless it's a kangaroo court.) And since she stopped saying "I tried killing Him" Maybe 20, 35% Chance she is still going to jail...Or she could just plea not guilty by reason of insanity, which with her owner's record of bring a somewhat abusive drunk, it is fairly reasonable..

And great now I'm going on and on about laws and loopholes..

The law would actually work favorably for Sasha here. She was never read her Miranda rights so she can recant everything she said initially with no consequences whatsoever. Not sure how due process works for animals here, but assuming its the same for people then she might be okay. As far as Fox...well he's not going to be very happy with where he'll end up whether or not he's thrown in prison.
