Ooh, I like the candidate idea! He could be bitter about it, and jumped at the chance to become Nue and Olde's avatar. We could mix that in with the power struggle idea, and even say that it was this that made Dragon turn him down. Ophois would get rid of Ptah as he would think that he was easier to dispatch since Ptah wasn't an avatar, either, and he can't have someone else who could take the role of avatar.

Side note, should Ptah have his deshret or not? If he's stripped of his powers by Ophois, then logically he wouldn't have it. And personally, I think he looks better without it.

Everyone else's thoughts?

I'm not so sure about that Chaoko, they used to have hats that were actually boat shaped and stuff. Plus don't forget Queen Antoinette.

Alright, we got the direction for Ophois' story now. By the way, if we want to get even more anachronistic, how about include other hats for Ptah as exclusive armors? We have the deshret he could gain back, so how about a hedjet and a pschent?

And again, we still don't have a direction for Lacert and Esperanza.

Esperanza is actually pretty well done

Her initial problem is with Nue, she needs help from the pets she's a friendly OC, Lacert eh, not so much...though we do have an illegitimate Idea that I can't remember maybe I'll post it later. Or it's already on the updated version of my bat file.

If he absolutely needs a hat I'd go with the pschent, but honestly, I never liked Egyptian headwaters all that much.

I meant Esperanza's and Lacert's chapter story. We have Esperanza's bio done, but Lacert is still incomplete. What's her motive?

And about the hats, I was saying they should be armor. If we do end up with Cobra's armor fusion idea, then the deshret and hedjet could fuse into the pschent. I mean, historically that's what happened.

Regeneration is out of the question.

Not sure what you meant by armor fusion unless you meant the shields = collars. But headgear is perfectly fine for me. I had plans to give some head armor in the game eventually such as Pete's feather for Grape as a helmet.

I think I missed something... I don't understand how a snake village would be aggressive about an "invasion" of the modern world.

Can someone please elaborate?

Yeah that was pretty much it. Y'know like a snake colony (which do exist if you're wondering.), and then Human's and their pets took over the area.

As long as it doesn't get preachy, but how's this?

Because of the loss of territory, not only are the snakes more aggressive, but they start to take territory from others, which is where Esperanza comes in. She's forced to leave and seeks the help of the pets to get her home back. After defeating Lacert, they realize that they weren't entirely blameless, themselves, and offer to work on a truce that would mutually benefit them.

And Lacert vehemently refuses. She has become blinded by her anger, and has taken an all or nothing stance on her goals. But now that the pets have overcome her while she was empowered, she isn't able to do as much. She leaves bitter over the whole ordeal and falls deeper in her rage.

How's this?

Modeled it after a toy crossbow I came across at the local thrift store. I thought it was an interesting way how the bow segment was fashioned in an almost reverse way than normal. Bolt was how I envisioned the nitroglycerin darts in the book series I mentioned a while back. Haven't found it yet.

...and I just now realize that I forgot to add straps to the bottom.

Once again, I couldn't sketch it, so I once again resorted to making a putty model and rotoscoping the picture.

Oook, let's just say I have a great liking in Housepets, only recently made an account for the board, and am a software engineer / programmer by profession. I am not going to read through all >100 pages, so if there is still place available for an upstarting game coder to join in, would someone like to brief me about the project so far?

Ah, good, I'll remember that.

By now I have found the DEMO and attempt to start it, for some reason it takes a while (it's likely to be because of my PC, need to upgrade that old can some day soon). I assume the two of them will see my entry so I don't need to post them directly each.

I'm still in traineeship, meaning I live in Germany and know my work but yet need to do some big exam before I'm officially Software Engineer around here. So playing my cards openly: I look for every and any opportunity to gain experience. I'm curious and eager to learn, but can't promise many hours of dedicated work for the project. At least not too soon.
On the upside, I get around with a broad variety of coding languages, always look out to hone my skills instead of being satisfied with "it works already". (many people at work don't learn new concepts or better models because they've got their old system and stick with it, so I feel like adding my personal point of view here). And I do some of my own projects and experiments in monoGames atm.

So what I'm saying is: I'm neither very experienced, nor am I a total newb. All I can offer is my ambition and that joy I have in programming games.

I do the balancing and some of the battle system - to ensure nothing is overpowered/too weak in the game.

Ex: Character/monster stats, abilities, items and the like. I added collars in replacement of shields as well, so you could say i manage the collars as well while D-Rock draws them. We could use a coder to help out with scripts. I suck at scripts. Need to find a proper script to have the mouse monsters give the ability to spawn more monsters.
