Well, Kitsune, sounded rather nice. Good luck in the competition.

And Person, really not bad. Don't worry about it not being in color, the sketch can be finished up later. Thing is, the face needs to be facing forward. We could attempt just having the eyes looking at the player.

Also, people, I have a concept for Marvin's ultimate. A VERY rough concept.

As in, I am incredibly embarrassed to show it.

Reason is, I can't draw this thing worth carp, so I resorted to building the initial base using Super Sculpey and a LEGO wing. I'll rotoscope from there.

Obviously, I'll add it much more detail later on.

I, uh...needed to resort to the Sculpey.

Hopefully I'll be able to properly capture my vision later, though my track record states that that's unlikely. I'll post the outline of the weapon whenever I can.

Also, hey, I initially tried to make a reference entirely in LEGO pieces. As you can tell, didn't work out.

Let's give it a shot, but at least I have a visual to go off of. Thanks for showing this earlier, Kitsune!

Start with this. Feathery wings in place of the thin rods here. Gauntlet that basically covers the forearm, maybe some swirl designs, bow on top of this. Twin spikes, like shark fins on top, like how the Sculpey model.

Unsure details; lever to pull back string on bow (unsure if string should even be visible), idea is that bolt materializes when pulled back, right between spikes. Trigger in front of gauntlet, attached to main part in front of where fist would be, sort of like a detonator remote

Possibly a MUCH smaller blade like in the picture, in the event a close up attack is necessary (why I have this detail in mind, not a clue, as we're not making an action-adventure game).

I think I got it.

That is absolutely awesome. Thank you so much, Buster! It will of course be a while to color this in considering Marvin's palette, but I've worked with limited palette before.

...and not like it's stopped me from using extra colors.

I'll see about fixing the wing, Buster. Shouldn't be too difficult. (famous last words, now that I think about it)

I also may be able to work on the cobra, Person. Head looks like it needs to be enlarged, but I could try. I'd say the tricky part will be making it fit the Housepets style, as I haven't even developed my own style, yet.

As for which ones you can see, likely another of your firewall issues.

Yeah, I was thinking about the head when I drew it, then I said naw looks alright. And as for house pets format, so long as it's comic colored, or 56-256 colors green especially it should be alright. It is not only firewall it is also firmware, which doesn't usually bother me as we communicate mostly though text.

i'll be honest, the wings and vertical fins don't make any sense. no matter how you shape them, on any practical design the fins would either get caught on the bowstring, or snap it, and the limbs being covered in feathers would just lead to them getting yanked out and scattered with every shot.

it's either operated entirely by magic, or it's a very high-maintenance weapon.

Secondly, I've submitted a glass sword, a gun with wings, and a chakram with floating spikes, I'm sure we can get away with this as a magical weapon. I was intending for Majestic Flight to be Marvin's ultimate weapon. Speaking of which, got the outline, and wow, it was tedious.

I did what I could to fix the wing. Not sure if it's better or worse. Also, I'll add in the proper shading to be able to see the depth more correctly like in the original sketch.

Love how it came out, though!

...I think I just noticed something dire. The Majestic Flight looks like it was designed to fit around an arm, however... Marvin(as with the other housepets)'s arm isn't exactly a normal shape. >_> While that may not exactly be a problem, I just mean that the gauntlet looks a bit too realistic, possibly.

Star, I'm sure it's easy to believe that it's scaled down to fit Marvin's forearm.

Also, Person, you can see it because I attached it directly to the forums instead of linking to another site. Whenever I can, however, I'll do the outside link, as there's a size limit to direct attachments, and I'd rather not have to deal with that.

It looks like it would fit if he only had his three main fingers around the grip, with his thumb outside.

Why does this matter? No one is going to notice something that minute in a million years, Plus I am pretty sure tiger could fit four fingers into it and keep his thumb on the outside. Or you could just say it's enlarged whereas the entire hand fits into the handle and it fires via the other hand.

You're right, it doesn't matter. Sometimes it's weird just which details we have so much issue with when others aren't even given a second glance.

Sometimes I wonder why I'm a stickler for believability and at the same time have no issue throwing realism out the window.

To be honest, now that I've seen it drawn a bit better, I have to say it looks more like a gauntlet with a spear on it than a crossbow but it is still cool.

Going for a VERY extravagant version of this, Dayzee.

And Kitsune, I remember bringing up possible places for the tracks when you first posted them, but it's quite a dig. I'll check it when it's not so late. And we still only have the gist of Chapter 2.

Primary Hero: Peanut
Secondary Heroes: Fido, Bino, Fox(?)

Grape and Peanut try to ask Tarot more about what's going on after finding the Gargoyle Wing. Sabrina informs them that Tarot left to look into it on her own, and advises the two to go about their day for the time being. Grape heads to the mall (Chapter 3 will follow her) and Peanut goes to a meeting at the GODC. The K9 unit is there to inform about an increase in feral hostility, and Peanut volunteers to look into it, with Fido joining, and Bino, who's really just trying to increase his reputation (Fox was initially an optional member that would join if a side quest was done for him). They meet with Falstaff and Truck and learn of a blue raccoon riling up the ferals. After finding and confronting Blu-e, he would begin rambling about his benefactor before being knocked out. Fido would take him in for questioning, while the remaining party members head home.

That's what I remember of Chapter 2.

Anyway, got the flat colors done, wanted to hear opinions before going further in the shading.

Surprisingly less gold than I imagined, but I think it worked out better, as it sticks out against his arm better.

Just kidding, I think you've been doing a good job with what you can while I'm away! I like that we're coming up with so many new ideas!

I actually wanna draw all of their battle images so expect that soon. I've been in a real "character drawing" mood.

. I actually REALLY liked the idea of him being Nue/Olde's main Avatar, I don't know why we strayed away from that idea.
Just looking at him, I got a feel that he could be THAT GUY. You know that guy, the one in JRPG's who's all cool looking and stoic that shows up from time to time but you never really get to fight him and you just KNOW they're gonna be a pain to fight later on in the game, and then when he shows up at the end of the game you're like "aww man it's THAT guy" and you know he's gonna be a pain because he's just THAT GUY standing calmly in your way and then you fight him and he's more of annoying to fight rather than actually difficult and the boss fight ends up taking a long time because he has a lot of health so really it's more of a test of endurance......... Yeah he could totally be that guy in my opinion.

Plus again, I don't see why not since we've yet to come up with a Avatar/second to last boss yet so I mean

But on the topic on chapters: 1,2,3, and 5 have been planned out. Chapter 4 is the one that focuses on King, Bailey, and Tarot and is supposed to introduce Nue and Olde for the first time. We haven't worked out anything passed that. Chapter 5 has been debated as to what happens, but we know it focuses on Fox and the K-9 unit infiltrating the Zoo to try and figure out what's riling up the Zoo animals to attack civilians. The monolith or that one tiger where pitched to be the boss of that area.

And that looks super epic D-Rock and Buster! Fantastic job!

It would if the wings had a gradient, I would just add some shading to them...that should work.

-- Have you tried smoothing out the image after you've shrunken it? Sometimes that is all you need to do.
