Go old school, make cutouts of the paper Mario guys and play with it on a desk.

Erm: I think I'm in a depression bout again, but I honestly can't tell. I feel like throwing up inside, but I could still function externally. Didn't go to any class though, insomnia in full gear this week. Is that normal?

Sorrow: Had to take my mother to the hospital
Re: Joys And Sorrows
It sounds like maybe you're getting better at dealing with it. I'm not an expert but in my experience keeping yourself from shutting down completely when depressed is a good sign that you're moving towards recovery. But you gotta go to class, that stress won't make your life better even if in the short term it seems like a good idea.kurowolfe wrote:Erm: I think I'm in a depression bout again, but I honestly can't tell. Re: Joys And Sorrows
If you are not going to class due to lack of sleep or the case that you don't feel like learning anything, you'll start doubting yourself. Try not to think about it too much and go to class. you'll feel fine once you get some positive reinforcement into it.kurowolfe wrote:Erm: I think I'm in a depression bout again, but I honestly can't tell. I wouldn't say...normal, but like the others said being able to function at all is a great thing, I would be very wary of chronic insomnia though, it can ruin your academic performance like nothing else, like how it seems to already be doing. Re: Joys And Sorrows
Thanks for the input guys. I think I am in depression in the end, but I managed to create a facade and just do whatever that is needed for me to do, and feel down later. It's helpful being able to retro-inspect my own emotions while in a depression bout in real time xD
Sorrow: Last night I reached my limit though. I broke down and sobbed hard while being outside, and as usual I had trouble breathing from the chest pain.
Joy?: Thankfully I followed the strategy that I created before to help alleviate the sadness a bit: drink something something that I rarely buy or order. Usually this means iced latte, but last night I ordered some flavoured shaved ice. It worked, the shaved ice was yummy, and it distracted my depressed mind long enough for me to feel better in the end. By the end of the night, I was feeling well again.
Sorrow: That insomnia thing? It comes and goes, usually in weekly basis. I can only sleep at around 5am, and wake up at about 11, after most of my classes are done or after the last morning bus has left. My roommate is kinda self-centered, keeping the windows closed at nights and the lights switched on. Being a night owl himself, he usually sleeps at around the same time I do, and we almost never speak to each other. I think he hates me, but most probably he's just a terribly introverted person who sees me as an intruder in his private space.
Irritation: I just found out that the group assignment topic that we had to do had a typo in it. It said polyeter fiber, which I looked up and found some odd resources. It was polyester fiber. That made much more sense. So much time wasted =w=

Glad to hear that you're recovering from your break down Kuro , I wish I could help some how . I wish you the best of luck with that insomnia thing , but you might wanna see some doctors about it or something . Don't worry much about your roommate , and yes I do know someone who's THAT territorial , but I don't think your roommate actually hates you , just feeling a uncomfortable a bit , and that's not your fault , so don't worry about it .

Re: Joys And Sorrows
Dry the blood until it no longer bleeds, clean the wound with cold water, and let it dry up until a scab is formed. It's shallow so I don't think it'll get an infection if not covered, and shallow wounds tend to cure faster without anything covering it anyway (at least for me).

Re: Joys And Sorrows
Generally an emergency department exists to stabilize critically ill or injured patients. If someone's life is not in jeopardy, they may be discharged before all test results are back, especially if the hospital's a busy one and there are no inpatient beds for the ER physician(s) to admit the patient to. If there's a test result that warrants further examination, or if a specialist piece of equipment will be available later, it's common to recall patients or schedule them to come back later.Amazee Dayzee wrote:Joy: My mother came home. Sorrow: Someone hit the reset button on the thermostat. It defaults to 85F. I have a fridge and a computer as well as 2 monitors in my room and 1 vent. Suffocating.
Joy: Lock on it is gone so I dropped it to 65F and now everything is so good.

Why are your legs so sore?
Re: Joys And Sorrows
Yeah, I quite fortunate that everyone was amicable. However, my city has more than plenty drama up on wikifur, but then it's not common practise to bring it all up on first contact. I tried my best to be decent, and everything worked out. ~Sleet wrote:Sounds like you had a good group, then! Some furry groups are pretty terrible.

Sorrow: An old friend of the family passed away suddenly a few days ago. I haven't seen him in quite a few years and I didn't know him very well but I did know him. My parents knew him a lot better than I did. He leaves behind a wife and three adult children.

joy?sorrow? : A friend of mine is having some pretty good news , has everything going for him , and if everything goes well , which I hope and pretty sure it will , then just in around a month time from now , he'll start on the career he's always desired , and , I'm happy for him , I really do , but as the same time , I can't help but feel a little down as well , since that means we're gonna have to say good bye soon , we'll try to keep in touch , but his career is not a very schedule-based thing , anything can happen so........yeah I'm sad , and as the same time , feel bad about how selfish I am about this

Joy: Well, I got the job! I'll be making about a dollar less an hour but the cost of living will be cheaper across the board. It will keep me alive until something better comes along. I also have an apartment there too. In about 2 weeks I will be leaving Boone for good and living in Hickory. Then, more school.
At first I felt nostalgic. I'm going to miss Boone. I thought that I will never look at its hills or walk along its streets again. Then some idiot frat boy screamed at me from a passing car and laughed when I flinched. Then I remembered why I wanted to leave in the first place.
