Wikipedia actually. My first thought was elephant.
But then I opened the wikipedia page for the peanuts comic and did ctrl+f for December 9.
I dunno what Render did though.

Re: What's today?
Yeah, This was soooo close, Hlaoroo just baaarely got it, probably that picture that did you in Render =P. Fun facts, the original showing was 7:30 pm, and, since Coca-cola was a big sponsor of the movie, The original had a ton of references to the fizzy drink~ Most if not all now removed in the versions you see today.

Same here, scanned the German page for the 9th first and then the English one. But I hadn't really hoped for a hit there because usually the German page contains much more information. In this case I was wrong.Hlaoroo wrote:Wikipedia actually.

Re: What's today?
Since it's December 10 here, today's WT relates to December 10.
You may need to think a couple of steps beyond, or should I say, before, this picture. And yes, that's a hint.![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

On December 10, 1868, the first traffic lights were installed outside the Palace of Westminster in London. They resembles train signals and glowed with red and green light at night.

The statue's face appears on the official logo for Apollo 17.
Apollo 17 is NASA's most recent, and therefore currently final, mission to the moon.
The Apollo 17 lunar module landed on The Moon's surface on December 11, 1972, 19:54:57 UTC.
Bam.

On December 12, Frank Sinatra's son (Frank Sinatra Jr.) was returned after being kidnapped on December 8th? It's a bit of a stretch but maybe...

Re: What's today?
Oooooooooooh, You know what? That's so close to what I was looking for that I'm gonna give it to you.
What I was looking for was the fact that Frank Sinatra himself was born on December 12th 1915.
The clues were, Frank Sinatra inspired the name of Scooby Doo with his signature "Scoo-Be-Do-Be-Do"
And one of his greatest hits was a song called "The Best Is Yet To Come"
That's an interesting fact that you found though. What a birthday present to have, his missing son returned to him!

Re: What's today?
Hmmm, those look suspiciously like printing press plates.
So I'm guessing it's something to do with the printing press...let's see what Google can sniff up...
...hmmmm...can't really find anything at the moment that specifically states December 16th. :/ Am I on the right track?
