Re: Joys And Sorrows
I went to see Mockingjay yesterday. I haven't read the books so I had no idea what it be like.
It was awful. Boring, little action, mostly talking, probably the biggest waste of time ever. I fell asleep for half of it and was still able to piece together what happened. It was awful.

It seems that was the norm as most people complained about there being little action on Rotten Tomatoes also.
Not really sure. My mother always has had stomach issues. If it wasn't a bowel obstruction, it was gastritis. Either way, whenever she has to repeatedly use the bathroom, I already know that she probably will have to go to the hospital.Deske wrote:Was it a serious issue that has a higher possibility of recurring or is this just a once in a blue moon deal?

Blue screen of death...poo.
Ah what can ya expect from a roughly 10 year old machine. Thank god for friends and their laptops. I think a friend has a XP startup disk somewhere which might have a chance of fixing it. Hope so.
Speaking of friends, I LOVE MY FRIEND (Not in THAT way! )
He took me to town so I could have a oppurtunity to put my room money into my bank, so I can have SOMETHING in there to save up for my fursuit. Not only that he gave me fifty pounds of his to put in. THEN while he was browsing 24/7 games he bought me Alpha sapphire which was about 32 pounds with the black friday deal, and he bought us lunch and train tickets. He spent nearly a hundred on me that day. Not only that he has already bought me Guardians of the galaxy for christmas. You KNOW who your friends are, and he has always been my best, ever since we were kids. Course the highest reason is because he KNOWS just how god awful I have it here. So's he's trying to do what he can to help me. Planning an entire week (ish) long sleepover soon...again. WHOOT!
Also speaking of fursuits. IT IS NEARLY DONE! I'm desperatly trying to save up enough to get shipping (and customs) ready to be paid. I just need a few hundred more to be safe. Hopefully I can get some of mah old stuff sold to make some sort of dent in the amount. I did have a sponsor link to save up for that and being able to move out but it refuses to be posted anywhere. The url is really crap. Doesn't work 99/100 times.

It would be awesome to see that fursuit when it's done, Wolfy. Sounds like you're really investing in it!

Re: Joys And Sorrows
Joy : I'm getting a small, personal Christmas tree to put up in my own room.
Joy : My jeep "runs". For about 5 minutes before the transmissions warms up and it starts to die. Needs a new battery, dimmer switch and gonna get some new door panels because the old ones look awful. Can't wait until I can get the money to turn it into my daily driver. This Escort really wears on me.
Joy : Reading Enders Game in my contemporary communications class, easy book, only had to read 5 chapters, 1-5, read from 1-9.
I have sorrows but I don't feel like they really amount to anything besides me complaining about senseless things that are easily remedied.

Re: Joys And Sorrows
Joy: Decided to flip my school schedule around to early mornings instead of late evenings. My job makes it difficult to sleep at a normal time, but with this, I can be awake during most of the daylight hours. It'll be work at 3am, school at 8am and sleep at 6pm, rather than sleep at 9am and school at 5pm.
Joy: This also means I can join my friends from work in D&D when I'm free. We're all novices except for one, so it'll be a good way to get better.

Sorrow: The last chapter before the final in my math class is the only other chapter I just don't get.
Joy: Still might come out with an A, depending on how much time I can allow for studying for the final. Plus, I feel ready for Calc.
I sense a study binge consuming the next two weeks.

Joy: Watching the 'Orion' test flight...
Sorrow: ... on NASA's livestream. I so wish I could be there...
Orion's test flight is the first phase for bringing Humans on the surface of the planet Mars, as well as possibly bringing insight on the possibility on bringing an asteroid into the Moon's orbit to do Human mining operations on the surface of that asteroid. Although, that is if EVERYTHING goes as planned (I have no doubts). So much science!
EDIT: JOY: After 4 Hours and 24 minutes, at 11:29 EST, Orion has splashed back down in the Pacific! YAY!

I don't get it. Is the BSoD like the end all for your computer or what? I've bluescreened my rig before and nothing happened after I restarted it.

Sorrow: It doesn't look like my friend Stan is going to be able to visit me for New Years. His trip is dependent on him selling his Anubis costume. If any of you know of anyone who would be interested in buying it (perhaps as a Christmas present), I would ask you to direct them to it, if it's not too much to ask, please.
(Stan will be relisting it on eBay if it doesn't sell this time around)

Oh dear. Trust me, if I had $700 I would more than likely not spend it on a suit. But, I wouldn't mind shoving money at him as a donation of some sort. If I had money.

Re: Joys And Sorrows
Well the BSoD occurs when there is critical damage done to your computer so it means you would have to get a whole new computer. Sometimes its just something with an application, which is why restarting it from the switch may fix it.
Re: Joys And Sorrows
To be more precise, a Blue Screen of Death occurs in machines running Windows when an exception is thrown in the OS which it believes cannot be recovered from, so it shuts down and prints the error out on a blue screen. (Linux has the Oops screen, and I don't know what Mac does). In current times, these should be quite rare occurrences and may be indicative of deeper issues (like my computer probably has an issue with the WiFi driver), but it may be a very random event that you will never run into again.

I believe that a kernel panic is the equivalent of a BSoD for Mac users, though I never really got them. I just had problems with the screen giving me a prohibitory sign.

Re: Joys And Sorrows
"Critical Damage Detected: Run bsod.msi" Made me chuckle a bit. Personally I've never had a computer suffer such damage that it couldn't be recovered. I've had to reinstall the OS a few times, but backup files save me from lengthy redownloading processes.

it wouldn't have been the end all. but; it wont turn on, one time it did and wouldn't let me in. Saying something about a login system.Deske wrote:I don't get it. Is the BSoD like the end all for your computer or what? I've bluescreened my rig before and nothing happened after I restarted it.

Sorrow:...
Sorry guys. This one's... Kind of heavy.
An old, but still very close, friend of mine fell into a coma and died..
but uh... No one bothered telling me anything about him being sick
so I didn't get to say good-bye...
In fact, the only reason I found out about his passing
was a week old post on facebook that lightly mentioned it.
I'm this weird mixture of angry, sad and confused
and I really want to kick someone.
