Welcome, darktomb! There's a lot you can do here, so know your place!

Re: The Welcome Thread!
Well.. Hi there! I've never really done an intro before (or a forum post that isn't college related for that matter). Not quite sure what to say, but here goes nothing. I'm naive, gullible, rather depressing, shy, and way too curious. I'm also rather scatterbrained when it comes to speaking in the open.. like this.. in a forum full of eyes.. Your eyes burn me and tear my soul asunder
..Ahem. Anyways, I'm more of a lurker, but I'd really like to try joining in on some of these discussions every now and again, if that's alright by you guys. But before I do that, would anyone be willing to answer some of my forum-based questions via some sort of messaging? I'm a bit confused about forum.. etiquette? Manners? Settings? ...Common sense? You'd earn my undying respect and admiration (Which may or may not be worth less than dirt)!
I've been hooked on Housepets! for a bit over a year now and thought it would be cool to sorta discuss and converse with some of ya forum goers. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to hit myself with the door while I make my way out.

Hey Mathias!
If you have any specific questions about the forum, feel free to PM any of the mods. You can easily tell who we are by looking at our names. We'll be willing to answer your questions should you have some.
You can also just ask in the Forum Rules thread if it's a question about the rules specifically.

Welcome to the forums, Mathias.
Yes, it is fully okay if you contribute in discussions. You are even welcome to do so.
As it was already said, be nice to others and everything is fine. Jeff already posted a link to the forum rules, you can also find that link on the very top of every page, also when you compose a post. If you have questions, feel free to contact any of the staff members, we're here to help.

Welcome, new people!
Matthias: Welcome! Feel free to join in and comment wherever you like. You'll be more than welcome. As Jeff said, you can feel free to PM any mod with your questions. You'll know us by our dark blue or green names. If you're not sure how to PM, just click the PM button under one of our posts, or you can find the Private Messages link in your User Control Panel. There's also the forum rules thread as Jeff linked and also an Ask A Moderator thread for whatever other questions you may have so help is never far away. I'm sure you'll get settled in in no time.
Jay: Hi! Welcome to the forums! Love the username! Are you as musical as it implies?
darktomb: Welcome! I look forward to seeing you around!

Welcome to the both of you, Mathias and ds-al-coda. And to those I've missed as well.
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

Hello Jay, welcome. Have fun here on the forums.
I wonder how it implies music...Hlaoroo wrote:Jay: Hi! Welcome to the forums! Love the username! Are you as musical as it implies?

Welcome ds-al-coda!
May your posts be many and may your time be jolly!
A coda is a notation in music that tells the musicians to return to a previous or previously unplayed section.

Don't panic.. Don't panic.. Remain calm.. The kind one is simply giving you a festive greeting and insightful information.ArcWolf wrote:*party*

Resent others the way you wish to be resented... Wait, that's not how it goes..
^This is what my brain does. Could you imagine that party? I'd be so shaky and fidgety. You'd be left with a bitter taste in your mouth. No seriously. I would have knocked over the punch and soda. Then we'd have to resort to my supply of tonic water. Now no one is pleased!
Now that little piece of myself that is still sane would like to thank you for the greeting and advice!
@JeffCvt & Render & Hlaoroo
Oh, well, ya see.. My questions are more or less on how to phrase certain questions or comments so they can't be misunderstood. My other questions are of even less importance than that. I didn't desire to waste the time of mods.. Although it appears I have already.. Thank ya three for the info and welcomes! So not used to being allowed to talk to moderators.. Have to make a mental note of that
Also many thanks to Cesco, Saturn381, Amazee Dayzee, and Douglas Collier for the welcomes. Hope to see ya all in the forums some time later!

Always feel confident in our desire to be helpful. We are here because we want to be, and we enjoy talking with other members. If there ever came a point we felt there was not enough time to be a mod, we would simply step down and get someone new in. If there is a misunderstanding, we'll work through it. Be unashamed in your inadequacies, for we all have them (seriously, many on the mod staff and off understand social anxiety). Be welcomed and enjoy.

Welcome to the forum ds-al-coda! Have a good, long work with the translation you're doing.
That's all, Mathias. Turn off that darker side, take all easier.

Obbl's right. The only way you could possibly waste our time is if you deliberately set out to be a nuisance and break rules. We mods are all active members of the community and enjoy helping out members and having fun with you guys. The scary rule-enforcing stuff is really only a small fraction of what we do and we only do that when we're forced. So never be ashamed or afraid to talk to us.
I'd have knocked over the whole table so you're in good company.Mathias wrote:I would have knocked over the punch and soda.

Mainly you should see an x button next to the red ! button, but since someone posted it might not be there, a mod should be able to remove it.Number9Dysonsphere wrote:Hi am sorta new a few of you would have seen me post over the last few weeks and I've only just gotten the avatar pic and signature sorted out and I am curious as to how one gains a banner thing . Also welcome to the forums, #9dysonsphere, and all the others that joined up! It is a pleasure to meet you all.
