Appreciation
I just had one of the most craziest ideas ever! Show your appreciation towards Housepets! by translating the following sentence to a language you speak (or have a level of understanding and no internet translators are allowed!): Thank You Rick! I love Housepets!
Merci Beaucoup Rick! J'adore le comique de Housepets!
谢谢你瑞克!我爱Housepets!慢画!

Yes, I support catlovers! You got a problem mate?

¡Muchas gracias Rick! ¡Me encanta Housepets!
Tragically I do not know how to type in Fox, just speak it.

Re: Appreciation
I will say it in two languages.
English: Thank You Rick! I love Housepets!
And Really weird English: Thank you my good fellow who is known as Rick. This comic known as Housepets is quite exquisite.

Yes. When, in Italian, one shows a strong appreciation for something, you use the verb 'adorare'.Alex wrote:"Adoro" means "I love"? Then how to say "you"?valerio wrote:Grazie, Rick! Adoro Housepets!
'Thank you' = 'Grazie'. 'You'
The literal translation should be: Grazie a te, but it is an old, formal form we don't use often.

it's interesting to note a surprising amount of languages seem to assume that unless otherwise implied, a person is talking about themselves. first person pronouns aren't as common as I thought (!)
I was going to make a joke but then I did.

And I agree. It seems to actually be unusual for a language to be like English and be so insistent on a constant use of a first person pronoun. Off the top of my head it seems most common in West Germanic languages and disappears the further you get from that....
Speaking of West Germanic languages, I was apprehensive about doing these, but ah well they couldn't hurt:
Ic þancie þē Rick! Ic frēoġe Housepets!
Ich þanke you Rick! Ich love Housepets!

we-ell, it is not mandatory. We can use 'amare' for both situations, but it is preferred like thisIs Italian like Spanish in that "I love you" and "I love cake" use different words for "love?"
I love you = Ti amo
I love cake = adoro la torta/amo la torta

Re: Appreciation
Ah, I see. In Spanish, as far as I know, "te amo" is not usually said and "te quiero" seems to be preferred. Which is weird, because it more or less sounds like "I want you."

Yus. Old times, it used to be like this.Sleet wrote:Ah, I see. In Spanish, as far as I know, "te amo" is not usually said and "te quiero" seems to be preferred. Which is weird, because it more or less sounds like "I want you."
I love you (with a passion) = Ti desidero/ti bramo (I long for you/I want you)
I love you (caring for someone) = Ti amo.
Spanish must have kept the distinction

Re: Appreciation
In the language of silly poetry;
Rick oh Rick, confused you make us
But even that, might be a plus
A humble comic, but oh so good
Every week, you make us flood
Cute characters, oh yes there are
Worth so much more, than golden bars
Torture us, oh yes he does
Happens next, no-one knows
Rick oh Rick, so very best
Best at what, we'll make a test
Peanut Peanut, your eyes are blue
One who likes these, you'll have a clue
Eyes of golden, this one has
Like an abyss, like golden grass
Thank you Rick, you made me fall
For a humble comic, that has it all
Rick oh Rick, confused you make us

Japanese is spoken for but not when written very, very badly in the Roman alphabet, so Arigato gozimasu Rick. Watashi wa Housepets aisuru desu.
I am well aware of just how badly that sentence is put together, "Aisuru" is definateley used wrongly, so I will back this up with my other language outside of English, Broad Scots.
cheers Rick. Hoosepets is Braw.
