Re: Photography Thread
Alright, allow me to show a small cross-section of some of the finest photos I've ever taken.
First off is probably THE most perfect shot of a woodland stream you'll likely ever see in your life :-
Woodland Stream
Oh yeah, I took that. I tell no lies. Funny thing about that picture, you'd think it was right smack-dab in the middle of a wood, wouldn't ya?
Well actually I snapped that up just 'round back of a medium-sized town park just a half-to-three-quarters-of-an-hour bus ride from my house.
Heck I would even take y'all right to that very stream if I could.
Okay next I think I'll flick through a few good pics of some birds...
Mandarin Drake
Great Flit
Robin
Chiff-Chaff
Blue Flit Singing
Robin Singing
Juvinile Kestrels
Long-tailed Flit
Stunning Swans
Cute Wagtail
Another Great Flit
Very Obligatory Robin
Great Greenfinch
Is This Cheating?
G.C.G With Fish
Don't See One Of These Very Often.
Robin On The Fence
This Thrush Was In No Rush.
And now for some non-bird piccies.
Sunbathing Butterfly
Dark Blue Damselfly
Beautiful Autumn Tree
Babble, Babble, Brook, Brook
Lone Snowdrop
I know, I know...that's a lot of links...but it's only the tip of the iceberg...you'll find countless more pictures like those littering My Photobucket Gallery.
Have fun browsing all that lot. lol.

I only have my iPhone for a camera anymore, so excuse the quality, but I took this pic of a water cistern that is one of a pair in front of the steps to the tai chi society I belong to.

Here's a tired little devil at a wildlife park:
And a waterfall which is not too far from my house. I've actually blown this photo up and put it on my wall.

Re: Photography Thread
Hi Well, Hlaoroo told me here people can share photos they've taken so far, so this is my first photo =3
I'm not uploading more because I want you to tell me: would you mind if I put that watermark in the photos? I know they aren't winning an award xD But I want to have a control over them
See you soon!

Re: Photography Thread
You were brave, standing there with that traffic coming at you!
Personally I think the watermark is fine. I've not seen many people using them here but I have seen plenty of photographers on other sites using them. I think as long as it doesn't massively impact the viewing of the photo (which yours doesn't) then it's fine. Besides, it's your photo so you have every right to protect it.
The photo looks great, by the way. You did well to soften the lines and textures like that.

Re: Photography Thread
Thanks Hlaoroo Actually I was inside a car! xD But anyway, I see I can take good photos to reflect other situations
Phew! I thought the lines were too aggressive. Anyway, I'll adapt the watermark, so it won't affect other (more bright) photos
But... I put that photo on Dropbox Do you know if I can use another web service? Dropbox has a traffic limit
And I saw some of your photos, they're nice too!

Re: Photography Thread
Thanks. A car does sound safer than just standing there.
There are a number of other image hosting sites out there. Photobucket, imageshack, imgur, and flickr are all good options. DeviantArt isn't bad either. Have a look around and see which you like the look of.

Very nice images Crimson!
Well, it's been a while since I got into here, so let me show you how's the afternoon right now:
1.- Trees and plants are green everyday, because it has rained for almost a month
2.- Today the Sun came up, but there are still clouds
3.- It's a bit blurry, but here's a bird standing on the bunch of phone cables:
Hope you'll like them!

Don't worry Crimson, glad you liked the photos!
Also, your sunset is pretty nice!
Today, I'm showing you some subway tickets I got from a friend. Although my country is out right now (Hey, they did it pretty well!), these are nice tickets, by the way!

Re: Photography Thread
I got a new phone with a pretty mean camera. I only carry my SLR on planned shoots so this gives me more opportunities to photograph.
These are Arcus clouds from the outflow of an intensifying thunderstorm. It was convective right as it reached town and the rain band appeared to be a brilliant dark turquoise. No tornado, though.
What looks to be roll clouds. Another type of arcus clouds, just without the thunderstorm.
Photobucket really degrades the quality, unfortunately. Still.. neat clouds.

Those are really nice clouds kitela.
I hope to someday get an SLR. Do you know if they can get microscopic views, or at least get a clear focus of small stuff? My point and shoot becomes blurry after a time if I try to focus on small stuff.

Point and shoot cameras can actually be good with macro focus if you have the right one. There should be a macro setting.Crimson wrote:Those are really nice clouds kitela.

With DSLR cameras, there are a variety of Macro lenses that will magnify any small stuff you wish to photograph. Plus, you can do things like this if you don't want to spend lots of money on a macro lens.

Re: Photography Thread
Oh, I guess I just need to play a bit with the camera more. Though when I use macro focus sometimes the center of the display gets a yellow rectangle (just an outline not filled in) with a caution warning sign in the border. I am not sure what that means at all really.

Re: Photography Thread
Is it still shooting the pictures?
Maybe your lens jams on something when it's adjusting. So it might just need cleaned.
I'm not really sure either. I would look that up on the manual for the camera.

Re: Photography Thread
It does still take pictures. maybe it just doesn't work well if the lens zooms and tries to focus when its on Aperture Priority.

Re: Photography Thread
Hi everybody, it's been a while since my last photos, so...
Today's a sunny day, finally!
It's been raining here since May or June, so a sunny day between rainy days is almost a miracle!
I walked to the same place so you can compare this day with the other I put here some time ago.
Have a nice weekend!
