I wonder if that ring changes sizes, or if we are about to hear Joel scream.

Which begs the question
who's the genuine entity here?
Is Joel truly Joel or is Joel King?
Does King still feel attraction to Bailey when he's Joel?
Should we come up with a third name to call him because this isn't getting me anywhere?
Sure.

The fur is going to fly when King finds out that Keene is working for Pete. Also, I get the feeling that Keene is going to try to get King to be the spokesman for Keene's "World of Equality" agenda.

have you seen the size of pet hands in this comic? If anything I think the ring is looser in human form.Silly Zealot wrote:I wonder if that ring changes sizes, or if we are about to hear Joel scream.

Alright, I'm a little confused. When I first looked at the strip, I thought "Are we seeing King one way while Keen sees Joel another way?"
Sooo... I'm guessing that the watch has shape shifting abilities? COOL!

Well it does magically cause him to become clothed when he changes into a human, so I doubt a ring would be problematic.Silly Zealot wrote:I wonder if that ring changes sizes, or if we are about to hear Joel scream.

Re: 2014/07/28 - In the Pudding
With so many loose ends in the previous Game arcs, it just fits that at last Keene gets involved.
I think that King is calling for his help because of the connection between the Milton family (starting with ol' Henry) and the temple that was (un)conveniently moved to their property years ago. So yes, quite possible that King is not aware of the deal between Pete and Keene... But again, that fact could turn up useful to King: Keene has all the interest for Pete to win. He doesn't need to disclose THAT to King: He just needs to, perhaps, lend that shard of Pete's mana to the corgi and let vengeful wrath to do the rest...
(Or KARISHAD could end up eating that mana egg. Pete just said it never ends well, but in this case depends for WHOM never ends well )
On another side, YAY for King not being afraid anymore of revealing the truth, as long as it will serve him to rescue Bailey! Which also implies that, in spite of his new shapechanging abilities, King still loves Bailey truly and true <3 <3
And now, someone pass me the popcorn: this is yet another GREAT arc incoming!

To be fair, it'd be a lot more easy to convince a judge he was transformed into a dog and then dognapped, when he can still become said dog.Deske wrote:Wasn't really expecting Joel to be so open about that. Seems like something he'd want to keep on the down low.

So he has now the ability to switch between his human form and dog form as he pleases. That seems useful somehow. Though I can't see how this could be of some help in this case.

Yeah you're not the only one thinking about that possibility. I made a theory about this months ago. Let's hope that's on Keene's plans. I think it'd be good if Joel remains as a regular character along with King. Kind of like living two differents lives and seeing how he relates with the rest of the cast in both ways. That'd be fun!Lucid_Dragon wrote:The fur is going to fly when King finds out that Keene is working for Pete. Re: 2014/07/28 - In the Pudding
I wonder if the watch could always do that and King just didn't know it could. If so king could of used that to change back into joel before he met Bailey and never fell in love thus this story would of never happened. it would be cool if there was an alternate timeline where king used that to become some kind of Master criminal and built a company to fight against the Miltons. But that is just a thought
Now that King is a dog does he cry to all dog's go to heaven???

Re: 2014/07/28 - In the Pudding
Personally I'm not entirely sure Joel would make a good character. I mean, outside of being King he doesn't really do much. I guess king could switch back over to him if he needed to get into somewhere human only, but I just don't really see him being anything other than a supporting character.

Since Joel is King, it could be inferred you think King is a bad character. :3

Don't do that, that's not what I want people to think I think. That's not what I want people to think at all. Joel and King are the same person, yes, but I don't think Joel could really do much. He's human, he'd probably have to get a job or something. Why would anyone do that when you could be a dog.Dissension wrote:Since Joel is King, it could be inferred you think King is a bad character. :3

Huh.... I'm surprised I guessed the "gift" was being able to switch between dog and human form right. Though I wasn't expecting him to use it right in front of people like that...

Re: 2014/07/28 - In the Pudding
I think he's mastered the art of having your clothes shift when you change, so I'm pretty sure the ring adjusts. So, the next question, does the watch clean and repair his clothes when it does that? Because that would save SO much on dry-cleaning. And avoid embarrassing questions like "Ah, sir, how come you only get dog hair INSIDE your trousers?"Silly Zealot wrote:I wonder if that ring changes sizes, or if we are about to hear Joel scream.[
Plus, HP! animals have fat stubby fingers, so it might not even need to.

My guess is him knowing about the demigods, or even being in league with some of them, is not something he really wants to reveal to others.Argent wrote:Good point, Keene already knows about the demigods, so why would he be so skeptical?
Oh, that joke has been around WAY before that. Not only do I remember it also being used on the old Garfield cartoon, but one of it's most notable examples is in the 1980's movie Airplane.... and that probably wasn't the first use either.Hlaoroo wrote:Speaking of Tiny Toons.Argent wrote:Surely he's Jo-king.

Probably some sort of magicky mumbo jumbo. Maybe the ring is some sort of symbol or something. Maybe it's not just a cool fashion sense.

What do you think is so special about dogs in Housepets? As far as I can tell they're not much different than kids and teenagers in our world, you know.
If you think all what humans can do is work and study then you really are a close-minded person. Besides, isn't these all what Itsuki usually does? Then you must think he's a bad character too.
From what I have seen through these years HP! has a really good cast of human characters. Celia and Thomas starred the only human focused arc in the series and they did it great. Bill and Jeff are the coolest guys in the whole cast. Earl and Jill Sandwich are between the funniest. And let's not start with the silliness of Mr. London. X3
And do not forget that King was originally a human. I don't think he would want to abandon his other self so easily unless he must have to.

Re: 2014/07/28 - In the Pudding
I dunno, I'd rather mess about and not really have to worry too much about the world. Sure they may be nearly the equivalent of children or teenagers there's still a fairly large difference. I mean, while I have to worry about what kind of life I have when I'm out of school, I'm fairly sure Fox doesn't really have to worry about what he's gonna do. I stress out about stuff all the time in high school because apparently it's important, but my real life dog does nothing but greet me everyday and want to play games or sit in the sun. I'd rather be a dog and not have to worry than stress out as much as I do right now.
Also its pretty understandable for the other humans, they're owners, they're gonna play some part. But Joel doesn't really own King as an owner. I just don't see him having much to do besides normal things.
