The plan was to sail across the ocean to Salamandastron, then hike to the abbey. But, on their way, Charles' group was attacked. Charles and his grandfather were the only 2 to make it out of the attack.
+ Another notable fact is that he has an older brother that he adores, who stayed behind to protect Noonvale, against the chieftain's will.
His brother is one of the few beasts who use weapons to protect their beloved home.

To take over the character slot, not GM, sorry. As for assistance, I'm not sure if that would resolve the problem or not. I feel like that person would be the GM half the time anyway.

I had to write it down and post it before I forgot!

Originally, I was going to post Charles' brother's ref when the time came, but I couldn't stop myself!
Here it is!

Name: Vincent "Laterose" Voh
Color: #FF0040

Age: 18

Specie: Mouse

Neighborhood: Redwall

Appearance: Unlike his brother who has grey fur, Laterose has orange fur, and His eye color is brown. He wears a pair of black pants, and a grey shirt with an embroidered rose on the back. Laterose wields a rapier with a rose engraved into the handle, as well as a small dagger.

Personality: (I wrote a lot of backstory, so I cut it short. Here is the short version.)
Laterose is a quiet person who normally keeps to himself, usually keeping a blank face. But when he is around his little brother, Charles, his face brightens up, and he plays around with him.
When in battle, he speaks only when needed, and when interrogating an enemy, he leaves a blank face and talks more calmly, and the feeling that "every second is your last" arouses in each vermin he speaks to.

Backstory: When Vincent was little, he would walk with his grandfather past the old Marshank battlefield to meet with the shrews. Marshank was always rocky, and it never grew vegetation, and Vincent always remembered that.

On one particular night, going back home, Vincent saw a billow of smoke in the direction of home.
When he got there, there were burnt houses and trashed fountains. Luckily, no one was hurt (thanks to a regiment of long patrol going waaay up north).
But, there were quite a few vermin tied up on the ground.

That night, grandfather argued with father, the chieftain that we needed to teach the village how to fight. But, father said that they never needed to learn how to fight, and that they were peaceable creatures. The argument was dropped, and nothing changed, and the feeling of insecurity grew in the young mouse. With a new brother coming along the way, this place wasn't safe.

So, Vincent and a few friends found the retired long patrol hare and had him train the group.
The small group grew to be a bigger group, which caused the chieftain to forbid them from training in the art of war.
Vincent rebelled, saying that the reason that his ancestor, Laterose of Noonvale, died at Marshank was because there weren't enough people who knew how to fight, and that Noonvale needed protecting.

Thus, the Laterose Patrol was born.

Only one. I play in 7 though and I don't think it's any extra work to GM a neighbourhood that you already play in since you're already reading everything and participating as a player anyway. And the one that I run I'm an active player in too.

Kiki has been found, Serence's fox character, now named Sarafina or Sara for short, has woken up, Owain walked too far and was up in the bell tower when the bells were rung so he's been treated for various things in the infirmary and has now gone down to get his cup from the gatehouse, a random vole had an accident in the great hall to give Hotep something to do, Neon's character has just been introduced, and that's about it in game.

Out of the game, WG has announced that he's stepping down as GM and we've been taking a vote as to who will take over from him.

Martin the Warrior is by far my favorite Redwall book, and I'm re-watching the tv series for the umpteenth time because I joined the roleplay.
All the nostalgia!

Go to youtube and search "Martin the Warrior ep. 1". It should be posted by a guy named "bubba" and a couple numbers after the name. He has all the episodes in one playlist, so you can continue watching with ease!

"Redwall", "Mattimeo" and "Martin the Warrior" are all there in TV series form. I wish they'd made more of the series into TV shows.

Brum did mention in her opening post that there was rumour that the Badger Lord would be visiting Redwall with a battalion of hares for the feast so we might see Salamandastron yet, Neon.

My top favorites are Martin the warrior being number 1, Redwall as number 2, Mattimeo as 3, and Mossflower as 4. Mariel of Redwall is also one of my favorites!
