In my first action as assistant GM, I should probably point this out
xhunterko wrote:Turn Structure
-------------------

To have some sort of order in posting and gameplay, there is a turn structure.

Turn structure is handled like so:

Whenever a player posts, that is a players turn.
When all the players have posted, that is a round.
At the end of each round, round specific effects occur(poison/etc) as well as all player's stones are refilled.

Posting structure is handled as follows:

Character A
Character B
Character C
Etc
GM Responds
Character A
Etc

This not only keeps track of what is happening, but also who is who. The order in which players post for round one, is the order in which the players are to post for the entire game. If a player happens to drop out, the next player below moves up.
hunter hasn't posted again yet, so none of us should have more than one post yet (unless hunter is ignoring that for the initial turns, but I don't think he is)

Yes I fell asleep.

As far as the posts, I see no reason to retract. It looks like natural role playing which is fine for this initial posting. But try to stick to the turn structure after wards. We're just getting our bearings here.

Oh, one other thing. It is winter outside. So there's a cool wind coming down from the hole in the cieling. Which also means the cave is slightly cooler.

EDIT:
Flynn jumped at the sound of the two doors closing. "well, ****, that's probably not a good sign," he said under his breath.

He carefully walked towards the square jutting towards the wall and examined it. (may need stones)
Just because combat is not available yet, doesn't mean that using stones isn't as well. Remember you can say: "Doing x action. I think x action needs x amount of stones"

You should all have your goals by now. Some rules about goals:

Remember, do not state your goals! In character or out! This is to keep the actions of players natural.

Your characters can't ask directly about your goals either! They can ask indirectly, then become interested afterwards.

As far as goals, everyone has a side goal of finding a little bit of treasure from an ancient age of this realm. Realm history will hopefully be taken care of in a update.

For now, good luck everyone!

(also, don't talk about goals amongst yourselves. spoilers, you see)

oh wait, I missed that we had to determine the number of stones ourselves.
not sure I like that, we can easily low-ball the difficulty of an action to save stones, whether on purpose or not
also, would examining something be a natural action because it's easy to look at something, or does it require stones to determine how much we see while examining?

Not really. The GM knows the required number of stones for an action. So your really just cutting yourself short of stones that you might need later on.

this system's confusing >_<

so, examining doesn't require stones, but using them can help. got it. stones allotted

and the stones replenish at the end of a round, right?

Yep! Just use your character stats for a reference. If you think action x would require a stat of, say intelligence, and it's 4, but your confident your character can figure it out on their own, then don't use stones. Say reading a book in a language the character is familiar with. Your character is already familiar with doing that, so no stones are needed. However, if it's a difficult subject matter, like death and dying, then your character may need some help in understanding the subject matter, so stones would be needed.

After some observation, I think it's time for some turn order. So. From my first posting, the one's who posted afterwards are:

1. RandomGeekNamedBrent
2. Roarin
3. serence ice fox
4. Legotron123 - Jack
5. The Moon Howler - Polaris
6. Hotep the psychic - anubis
7. CrystallineWolf - Echo
8. hypernovatic - Cryo

Hopefully, this'll avoid some confusion.

It's fine. Minor upsets happen and they may not have seen the new change. We'll just wait for RandomGeekNamedBrent to post and then proceed as normal.

EDIT: Hey I looked at the new order and IC thread and I'm next, but is it okay if I wait for hotep to responded to my last post first?

It's my turn, and I can't really figure out Echo's location relative to the others.... I'm assuming linear fashion is like this:

Flynn; locked door; Muvia, Gil, Cryo, & Polaris; Echo; some hole in the ceiling; Anubis & Jack; other door with convenient handle... am I right?

I can't figure out clearly either ^^" , but according to what you last posted , we can assume that Echo is somewhere close to Anubis and Jack since she saw the flare , while the others are on the other side of the tunnel . So I guess echo can just approaches the two canine now ? ^^"

Yes it is a linear tunnel that's pretty wide and long. That's mostly to accomodate the number of players though. The hole is in the center though. So it's like this actually:

Flynn; locked door; Anubis & Jack, Echo; some hole in the ceiling; Muvia, Gil, Cryo, & Polaris; more tunnel.

Sorry bout that.

About the amount of stones that could be used when and how they are refilled easily. With a round being 3 GM posts, that means that stones aren't auto-filled after everyone has made their turn.

This is a valid bing.

This post is to inform the players that I shall be going on vacation for the next 7 days and do not know when I am able to post. So on that note, I will leave you in the capable very nice soft and fuzzy declawed hands of the Assistant GM (or the AGM for short).

I will be providing him information on how to run things here shortly today. After which, RandomGeekNamedBrent will be taking over things while I'm away.
