So can they understand animals or not? Is Tarot translating for Peanut, if that is the case why is no one freaking out? Maybe they can only understand dogs in this universe? If either of those are the case leaving Max and Grape alone makes even less sense then before.

I'm not a very active guy, but I love that game. A part of me does want to call unfair advantage, but both are dancing how they normally would (and yes, I am considering the fact that Peanut is a quadruped here).

Maybe that's how it works.

I think Tarot is bending her front paws in ways normal dogs can't without us hearing a loud *crack*.

I would put myself on queue to dance with such a dog!

Hmm. It would appear that Peanut is at least twice as good at DDR in this dimension. Quadrupedy has its perks.

I don't think these people actually know what their saying, mabey Peanut and Tarot have been to this Babylon Gardens so many times that the people are just kind of use to them. The famous scene from Lady and the Tramp is a good example of that.

I'm going to designate head-canon towards saying that this is In the Groove 2 and NOT Dance Dance Revolution. Because ITG2 is so infinitely better, and it would make sense to play on all fours.

No, I'd say that WE are seeing his words translated.
From the humans' POW, he's still barking happily, and they are addressing him just like we'd do in similar circumstances. Since this is still Babylon Gardens, comes natural to think that its humans are much friendlier to animals than the usual pet owners.
Also, despite the fact that Grape had chosen to meddle with this date out of her envy, I still feel totally sorry for her and Max (who was dragged in, literally). I hope that after tonight she and Peanut won't be a bit more strangers...

Those humans have a prisioner of war? How horrible, I didn't even know they were military officers! Did they capture the prisoner during the war against poverty? Do they have poverty imprisoned? This shall not stand! Pverty must be let loooooose!

I thought she left the two of them out of spite for making her believe they were going to Awesome Waterpark (TM).

true she did, but Tarot didn't exactly encourage Peanut to help her get acquainted with this place. It's more likely that Tarot wanted to teach Grape a lesson...but the consequences may be a tad worse than intended, if you think of Grape's fear of being abandoned again.

Man, I wanna see Grape or Max duel Peanut infront of that audience. Who cares who wins? It would still be fun to watch <3

I'm certain the humans don't understand what Peanut is saying, but Peanut and Tarot are so used to things here they learned ways to get around it.

As for Grape and Max, i'm starting to think this current comic is foreshadowing a possibility that they will eventually learn on their own somehow.

Possibly the highest count of detailed human faces I've seen in a single Housepets panel. It would an event for an arc, wouldn't it.

For me, Peanut is barking the same way that Max was meowing when we saw him talking to the fishmonger.

I tried for a fast paced tone for this poem.

Peanut's dancin' to the disco beat;
he's really feelin' the music heat.
he's dancing that human to defeat...
he's playing!
Tarot's watching from the side;
watching her boy really slide.
She finds herself swell with pride...
She's grinning.
The spectators there watch with awe
as he covers the disco floor
standing tall, paw after paw...
He's stunning!
This is an awesome full date night
but it's the calm before the fright.
What she's to tell him she'll tell tonight...
She's stalling!
These two dogs rock the park
even if humans only hear them bark,
This really is an awesome arc...
They're winning!

Man, Peanut is just a pro at dancing. I wonder if he's better on two or four legs? And Tarot still looks adorable, I don't think she can stop.

Also, can that guy understand him? Because he is pretty relaxed at seeing a dog winning on a DDR machine.

Am I the only one thinking that Tarot looks worried about something?
It could be just Peanut's score, but could it also be something more?

She still has something serious on her mind to speak about with Peanut. But there was not the right time yet and I believe she fears that she will not find the right moment tonight.

Mundane, but credible. Woof.

No, no you're not.

An I the only one thinking Rick's going to keep us on tenterhooks about Tarot's big reveal and end the arc without letting us know what was so important? Maybe not, she has something serious "to talk about later".
