Immense joy: The International 3 (DotA 2 tournament, more or less like a world championship) is going to be aired live on one of the bigger TV channels in sweden, holy crap.

Sorrow: My new working shift basically has me forced to make some major changes in life now since a long time. I might have to consider living with my grandfather as well as my home between the weeks just to get to work. Although I will have no internet... On the bright side, I get to see my grandfather, which i'll be thankful for.

Sorrow: This happened to me last night.
Image
I was trying to get to sleep, when all the painful memories came flooding. My chest hurt so much that I was crying. Afraid to sleep after that.

Joy: A morning nap, waking up to the first rainstorm in weeks and listening to the raindrops on the zinc roof as well as drawing this healed me somewhat, and I feel fine again. Thank God for art.

^“Just like there's always time for pain, there's always time for healing.”― Jennifer Brown, Hate List

I don't know what type of pain you've gone through, but I can tell you I know the feeling of wishing you had the guts to pull a trigger. I'd be lying to you if I told you I still don't think about it everyday. When I was younger it was bad, but time has a way of healing even the deepest of wounds. Find something you like. I mean have a passion for it, whatever it is. If it's art, drive yourself to be better. I find it most enjoyable when, even at my amateur status, able to help my friends and family get better at something I enjoy doing. I guess it kinda goes down to helping other people, helps you. Does that make sense?

Hope that helped =).

Thanks for the advice everyone. Reminds me of all the little joys in life, like friends.

@Tatsuo: I cannot tell you how many times I have considered that in the past; I almost did jump off a three-storey building this one night. Thank goodness I'm scared of pain (and the meds helped, of course). Funny thing is, I used to tell people and myself the exact same things that you told me here, especially the 'time heals all wounds' part. My mum took 10 years to finally move on from her ex-husband (my dad) and to live as her own self, that's why I strongly believe that time is the best, even if not the most efficient, healer.

Dragging it out is actually worse. Like having a broken limb. I cope better with lots of pain quickly then its gone.

Neither is good, because in medicine (or what I know of it), the former is acute, while the latter is chronic. I've experienced both, and both are detrimental in the long run.

Last two nights was acute; I was taken by surprise because I hadn't had that painful feeling for a long time now that I let my guard down.

Ah, I see. Well, it depends on the person in question, actually. Work with your preferences rather than doing the opposite, because feelings like these tend to be more subjective. The plaster/band-aid thing? I would pull it away as quickly as possible (with a yelp) xD

You should probably stick with Plaster.
I haven't suffered any kind of chronic health problems but I have endured a great deal of pain, to the extent where I am largely indifferent to emotional damage (Which probably isn't healthy) however I can imagine how horrible that can be, though I know nothing of your condition Kuro. Feel free to talk about it amongst your Friends though, it can be very remedial.

Sorrow: Season 4 of The Walking Dead doesn't start until the middle of October.

Here's a sorrow for ya: Fixing my mothers computer, found over 10 Trojans on it and over 100 spyware, adware hits on it. Why mom Why! Why must you download every game you see!

Edit: Joy! After much debate and battle, I have been found wrongfully terminated from my last job. Yeah! Take that big corporations. Now that I don't have that hovering over my head, I can breath a sigh of relief.

Try drinking some warm drinks or have a warm bath before you go to bed tonight. That might help.

For the headache, maybe you can try this old tip I got from my mum: massage either both of your toe thumbs, the fleshy part between your index finger and thumb on your hand or the side of your neck where it meets the shoulder gently. Some massage or aromatic oils like lavender would help too, if you can get your hands on it.

Joy: I slept the whole day :D .

Joy: Some guys came to work on the roof, so not only will there be no leaks anymore, but there won't be bolts sticking out of my ceiling anymore! (which is good since I sleep in a loft bed and I might hit my head on one of those stupid things)

Sorrow: Those bolts are only there because the contractor who was hired to fix up our house didn't know what he was doing at all. We also had to replace the sink counter in the upper level because it had sunk and cracked due to the contractor not putting in a beam to hold it up, and we had to put in a brand new dishwasher for the upper level because for some reason the one the house came with didn't work, AND there's vinyl flooring in the kitchen that wasn't placed properly (it whistles when we vacuum it which means that there's air under it, plus it lifts up at the corners to show it's ugly linoleum tiles that were there previously), AND (get this) we also had to have a guy put in a pipe for the thing on the tub that drains excess water in the upper level. It used to just pour onto the roof of the lower level bathroom. The guy who came to put in the pipe said that he had never seen a sloppier job in his entire career. Our landlord is paying most of the expenses, and I think he'll think twice before he gets a bit-rate contractor again. :P

I'm pretty sure any criminal who broke the law never felt joy when the police caught them. Especially in the case of drug addicts.

Well, actually a drug addict might have eventually felt joy for it, because that's often the first step in rehabilitation.
