Need some advice, plx.

Okay, so here the thing, I need some advice/opinions on what to do before I do anything stupid.

I let my friend borrow my Xbox 360 for a while, before I went on holiday, when I came back from holiday he won't get in touch with me, I've rang and rang, I've knocked round his place multiple times and he's avoiding me. The thing Is I'm moving away soon so I need it within the next week before I move. The other thing is, I know how to get into his place, the catch on his door is slightly broke and with a stiff shoulder bash you can get in, (we used to do it to get in of a morning to wake him up). So here's my question.
Should I ring repeatedly, go around and knock like a man woman, and if he doesn't answer just get in, take it and leave? Can you steal something that is rightfully yours?

So long as you leave your friend a note or text him afterwards, I personally have no problem with that =p

I just don't know what'd happen if the police got involved, breaking and entering is still breaking and entering if it's to get your own stuff back..

The police here are useless I'd be lucky to get it back in a year.

I would leave him a note, and all the police would do is give me a warning cause all I did was take my stuff back. I have the logs in my phone to prove I've tried calling and the security footage from the flat block to prove I've been going around to try and get in touch.

Well, I just hope he doesn't get violent if he's there at the time. I suppose you'd know if he would or not though..

Nah, if he's there he'd probably just yell at me, then give me it and tell me to get out. He knows I can beat him in a fight so he wouldn't start one.

This sounds like the start of a Guy Ritchie film. If some Russians get involved and a bunch of people get shot you better let us know.

I'd say it's fine to take it, but only as a last resort, and leave a polite note explaining what happened (and advising he fix his door).

Yeah, I think I'm going to keep trying to call him till Friday, if I can get hold of him before then, then I'll go and take it and just leave him a note apologizing for having to do it but explaining that I needed to.
