hearing the word "leash" made Nadia instinctively grabbed her neck for a sec , but quickly let go "oh har har har , reaaaally funny"

"It must be really big then. And heavy.". Though she couldn't remember ever seeing any horses with windows in them.

Richmond Acres Mystery, Journal Entry #1
Boss told me since my last mystery didn't end so well, I should try something a little less "Dangerous".
Danger comes in the journalist job. So what?
Anyways, I'm on my way to a small town, only about an hour away, called "Richmond Acres".
It's a pet friendly neighborhood, animal clinics, silos, the usual farm boy town.
How could there be anything exciting there?
But, as it is, in the records (courtesy of the Richmond Acre's town counsel), there used to be an old
Civil War bunker there. I think it's a bit slower than my pace, but that doesn't matter.
I'll be there in about 20 minutes.

When Hutch landed, a small transport bus was waiting for him.
They drove a short was to Richmond Acres town square, where Hutch got off. Hutch tipped the driver, and started walking.
Hutch realized a problem he had not encountered. "What do I look for first?" he said quietly, looking in no particular direction.
"Civilians?" he thought. "Town center, most of the stores are here, I'm bound to run into someone." Hutch said quietly.

John hears the thump. He turns quickly back towards the house.
"Joan?" He runs inside, yelling "Joan? Are you all right?"
"I'm fine! It wasn't me." Joan replies as she meets John in the hall.
"Oh thank goodness! But if it wasn't you then... didn't Sixtoes come back in?"
"Sixtoes? Was that you? Are you OK? Where are you?" calls Joan.

Having finished polishing and winding the clocks, Piper decides to take a break before moving on to polishing the glassware. She pulls the stool behind the counter against the wall and, seating herself and leaning against the wall, she unhooks the panpipes from her collar and plays a simple yet pretty tune, filling the shop with her gentle melodies.

"I think it came from the extension. You take the garage and I'll look upstairs." John agrees and both humans run off in their respective directions to investigate the source of the noise, Joan climbing the stairs and then the rungs and John running around the house to the garage.

In the attic, Cinnamon's tail can be seen waving side to side in the dimness. When Joan turns the light on his legs can be seen holding on to a joist as he manipulates something in the chimney space.

In the garage, a stack of cracked asphalt roof-tiles lie forlornly amidst the sacks of squirrel rubbish below.

There's another, softer thud inside the accidental crawl-space.

Cinnamon sits back, panting.

"Almost halfway done, then the attic will be clear!"

He points at the two remaining packages of roofing tiles. A third is wedged against a couple of rafters halfway down the shaft.

Hearing a faint melody, Hutch decides to follow it. The noise grows louder as he walks in front of an antique shop. "Ah, antiques, a look into the past!" exclaimed Hutch.
Hutch swung his coat dramatically as he walks to the door. He pulled the door open and walked in.
Noticing someone at the counter, Hutch approached her with a smile on his face.
"Hello, I'm Hutch Times," Hutch pulled out a bill fold, revealing his dog tags.
"I was wondering if I could get some help on a project I'm working on."

Its funny how grass can be so strong. But also very weak. No matter how much you stomp on it. It'll stand straight, proudly daring you to step on it once more. But if you simply pluck it out between your two fingers, the fight is over.
Zanna thought about this (or something similar to that effect...) as she laid on her stomach on the front lawn of the Porter's residence. After eating she found her way to the front door, making herself comfortable on the square of grass that bordered the sidewalk. It was a relaxing day today. So today she decided she was going to relax. She continues to twiddle the strands of grass between her fingers, until it formed a somewhat braid of grass strands. Satisfied with her work she rolled over, looking up at the sky.

Kandi takes Senka by the paw and leads her down the stairs and out the side door, and on out to the brown and gold F-100 pick-up truck..

That doesn't look like a horse... At all.
She's seen these before. Never up close though.
I've seen these things before.. She answered. Whenever she was near the edge of the forest she could hear them roaring past, some louder than others, and not all of them looked the same. But the noise they made, and the smell they left behind always made her skin crawl. And the way they barrel down the road so fast. She once saw a possum try to cross the road once. There was one if these "trucks" driving along and...
She looked from the vehicle back to Kandi.
Lets just say I'm not a fan and leave it at that.

Piper thinks for a while. "If you want catacombs I'd reccommend a visit to Paris or Rome. As for bunkers and the like, it's possible there could be something in the fields on the other side of the woods but no one really knows what's out there and I've never seen any information either way. I do know that there were tunnels under the town at one stage, mostly under Winston House, which Al Cabone used for smuggling Orange Soda, although whether or not they're still there is another matter. I do..." she thinks again. "I do have some papers taken from an old desk which the local architects sold us recently after they closed down - which was a shame really, they just couldn't compete with the newer, cheaper one in the city despite having been here over a hundred years, and they had a lovely guinea pig who I was good friends with. Anyway, they closed down and sold us some of their old furniture, including an antique bureau which contained several old papers and plans. From memory some of them mentioned the tunnels at Winston House. I can get them if you're interested."

"Oh, they haven't been used for smuggling for years. There was no money in smuggling after the Prohibition ended and Soda was readily available again. That said, Al certainly made enough during the Prohibition to live quite comfortably for the rest of his life by all accounts. As to whether anyone has been in them recently... Piper returns to the shop front wearing a pair of cotten gloves and carefully holding a sheaf of aged, yellowed papers. She gingerly sets them on the cloth and begins leafing through them.
"I don't think they ever made a map of the tunnels - leastways the architects never had one - but there was mention of the tunnels in some of the letters."Seeing the dog reaching for them too she quickly cautions him.
"Don't touch! The oil on your paws can damage the papers and hasten their decomposition. Put these on, and when you handle the papers, do so very gently and carefully. Some of these are a hundred years old or more. Sure the town hasn't been here that long - it's only about 90 years old - but the company moved here from the city during the town's boom era and brought a lot of their old paperwork with them." As Piper speaks she reaches below the counter again and passes the dog another pair of pet-sized cotton gloves.

"Oh, sure, I was kind of bored, so I took some more pictures of the car and got a real good one of the guy in the back seat he's this old timey guy with a real thin, what you call that fur some humans have? Moustache, a real thin moustache. And an old style hat like you see in detective movies. Looked real spiffy, I figure he was the owner of that car. Anyway, after that I fiddled with that old computer but I couldn't get past the star prompt because I don't know the machine code, so I thought I'd read some more but I decided to save the magazines for later and then I remembered that we hadn't finished in the attic so I swept up a bit and that just left these big old stacks of tiles so I figured I might as well see what I could do about them but the first one kind of got away from me but it only fell on the bags of junk so nothing was broken but still I figure it's better if I don't do that again so that's when I decided I could use the rope ladder to lower them in stages but really it's kind of too heavy for me and if you could take the rest that'd be great!"
