Strange fear: open doors. I don't know what it is--I'm not afraid of open spaces, or of closed doors, but I'm afraid of open doors. I don't like to leave a door open unless I'm outside the room. The same goes for open windows--I don't like them.
Not so strange fear: thunderstorms--although maybe it's less "not so" than I thought because I still can't figure out how anyone could possibly find them
relaxing! Exciting I can fathom, though I never find them so myself, but
relaxing? Quit pulling my leg!
This isn't necessarily a fear so much as a "squick": the holes in the ears of women who have pierced ears. Those have always made me squirm, and any woman can forget about me helping her put her earrings in--I cannot do it, I'm too afraid of hurting your ears. Your reassurances that I won't hurt you will avail you nothing--please don't make me do it!
EDIT: I too hate buzzing insects, especially when they fly RIGHT IN YOUR FACE.

"We have to do this take again! HAL, do it with a LOT less emotion!"
"I'm sorry Stan, I'm afraid I can't do that."
