The Absolution intro sounds a bit like Billy Talent in terms of tone and tempo, heard of them?
Thanks Bassist! I'm glad you like my songs!
And Billy Talent? The name sounds familiar, but I'm not sure if I know any of their work.
Billy Talent: prisoner of today
that's my favorite song by them and a pretty good introduction to the band's sound.

Public Image Ltd's album
First Issue is, in my opinion, the best post-punk album.
Theme
Low Life
Songs "Public Image", "Attack", and "Low Life" have to do with the Sex Pistols, especially Malcolm McLaren.
Followed by
Metal Box (aka
Second Issue ) and
Flowers of Romance , all PiL albums.

Picked this album up for 5 bucks today and now I'm sitting in my room jamming out ot some good old fashioned nu-metal. It's like I'm in high school all over again. : p

So today I realized I have 50+song by/featuring Waka Flocka. I have come to the realization that I will never ever do anything of value with my life. : p
Also these guys are my favorite local band and you should listen to them if you're into post hardcore.

Hanson Brothers: Rink Rat
This used to be on the soundtrack to a ps1 hockey game I played a lot as a young lad. I finally found it on youtube. Hockey punk is officially my new favorite thing to ever exist ever.

So I need a free program that will allow me to make beats. Does anyone have any insight into this kind of thing?

Really depends on what you're looking for - I use Monkey Machine for drum backing and that has a few nice presets, but for anything more advanced I would not be certain.
