But you wouldn't want to get close to it to begin with.

No we wouldn't. But if the animal came close to us and was a threat to us, I think people would want to kill it.

Re: Chat Thread 38: You Guys Are Old
I would agree with you only if the theoretical animal is a near indestructible animal that works in groups and could obliterate humans if it wished to do so.
Re: Chat Thread 38: You Guys Are Old
Yeah, what Wanderer said.
Take for example, lions and tigers and bears (oh my). These are some of the most fearsome creatures in the world at present, yet we've been slowly taking over their lands, and then either relocating them, which will eventually cause them to kill each other over territory or scarcity of prey, or killing them outright.
With the technological advantage humans enjoy (and thereby the unchecked growth of the species), being large and intimidating is far more of a hindrance to a species than it is an asset.

Being all cute and cuddly certainly is an advantage. Just look at guinea pigs. How on earth would such a creature survive in nature? THEY DON'T.

funny enough, it was ether those or hamsters who were the last pets to actually be domesticated...so, so ,SO very ironic!!
Re: Chat Thread 38: You Guys Are Old
People eat them in other countries, Ecuador being one...I think. I never really saw them as being cute anyway, I now wonder how they'd taste.DanTwelve3 wrote:Being all cute and cuddly certainly is an advantage. Just look at guinea pigs. I don't think the people at the pet shop would react well if they found out I intended to eat one...

She is cute to me, but I hear that some people find albino Guinea pigs creepy because of the eyes.
And her name is (I had a real moment of creativity when I came up with this) Snowball. All of my cats are outdoor cats, so they don't even have the chance to see her.

Re: Chat Thread 38: You Guys Are Old
So, guys, I went to a Renascence fair, and saw some cool things, swords and the likes, and had a lot of fun. But, I got a tail while I was there, and became "That dude with the tail" to most. I also saw a guy with three fox tails, fox ears, and a broadsword. It was weird.
Edit: I have a picture of me holding the tail now http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8984506/

I doubt the animal was killed for its tail, but still I wouldn't be comfortable wearing a real tail. :/The Grey Wolverine wrote:Yes, I believe it is.Sleet wrote:Is it a real tail?

I see where you are coming from. It could be fake too, I dunno, feels more coarse than fur like on a dog or rabbit or something, so I dunno, either way, I like it.

Speaking of albino guinea pigs, we've got an albino squirrel roaming the grounds around the apartment. Too bad the only photo I have of it is from my phone.JeffCvt wrote:Did someone say something about cute Guinea pigs?

Alright, lets talk about gym class then! Woo!
I was apparently such a threat during soccer today at gym that the other team told some kid to just stay with me wherever I went. And I'm not really that good to begin with.

We were playing Frisbee in gym class, and something awesomely weird happened, there was a Frisbee fight. Two guys fought with Frisbees, and it was awesome.

Re: Chat Thread 38: You Guys Are Old
It was unfortunate that the year after I stopped taking gym class, the gym was properly built and they incorporated actual gym into gym class. That was really all I ever wanted from gym class, a class on how to best use a gym. Although hockey was fun when we did that (not ice hockey, just about nothing is ever frozen here in Australia).
