Oh, lord. Rick sure has capitalized on the "Cat-lover" and now "Dog-lover" thing these past three comics. And it keeps getting better.

I love it when someone gives you a roundabout reason like that. It means they're cornered.

And is it really right that cats should be filing their nails/claws?

well I imagine that this was an offer by their owners. After all, its that or sharpening them on some furniture. I think its an acceptable trade-off

I really hope Grape likes Chicken.

Also: This is headed for train wreck. Head on collision, car vs. freight train. Grape is the freight train.

And Rufus' smile is great. It's funny how he says "tell her you can't live without her" when Peanut already lives with Grape. To be fair, Rufus thinks Peanut is talking about a border collie...

XD Yes, I too am certain that madness and chaos will shortly ensue. That is, if Peanut even tells Grape how he feels. Something tells me there will be even more problems on the way...
I wonder why?

There are no words to express how bad this could get, very quickly.

I love how you all assume it's even Grape in the first place.
That's not to say I don't...
There is a thing called love at first sight, and we haven't seen every second of their visit. Maybe he is talking about the neighboring collie...
but probably not.

Okay question to everyone here

Is there any reason why romance jokes/plots cannot be PG? Because there seem to be a few people who seem to think that because THEIR minds are dirty that everyone else will interpret things the same way as them.

I don't see a reason why it cannot.
As long as you tell your joke with out implying anything dirty then your fine i guess.
then again people minds "wander".

Your answer, sir. :P

It's not difficult to craft a romantic plotline that stays well within PG territory--pick any random animated Disney film and you'll probably find an example--but keep in mind that most of your audience is comprised of either teenagers or young adults, and with their hormones pumping, that's where their thoughts tend to stray. A science teacher I had in junior high once said that teenagers have an average of one sexual thought every sixteen minutes.

Please don't scrap the whole arc just because some people have a short attention span. :(

Don't forget, some of our minds have been screwed up by... certain comics. *Looks at M rated comics from past*

But, yes, love plots can be very PG. Love jokes, etc. too.

romance is so easy to make PG or even G rated. I mean look at the latest movie Ice age. They pulled off a mammoth giving birth in there!

The entire plot has been PG. I just thought a little on the edge. It's not your fault that the plot can spring non-PG related thoughts. Although, you were just kinda asking for it on last Friday's comic.

I just had a thought...

Peanut is going to propose to a barn cat not Grape!

That is how things are going to go so horriably wrong..

AUGH.
AAAAAUUUUUGGGGHHHHH.

What is with this arc of emotional roller coasters?

And Grape, you're only fooling yourself.

EDIT: I have a very strong feeling that the next couple pages of Spot aren't going to be very friendly to Stripe the not-cat.
