World political allegories inside Housepets
So I was just emailed about this
http://peanutgrape.blogspot.com/
I must say, I have apparently thought this through a lot farther than I thought I did.

I... I don't even know is this real or not.
Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
wow... ummm... tho isnt like Peanut butter like a US only item.... like Vegemite is Australian and nutella is German tho????
yes... ive been gone a while.... yes its cuz of LK....
Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
That, sir, is hilarious. At first.
But still. If you think enough you can turn anything into anything. I'm sure I could make the first comic on your FA page into a metaphor for polytheism in modern times.
Of course if he's serious about it all, then it's just sad.
And judging by the fact that Joshy-boy considers it a 'companion guide' to the comic, I'd think he genuinely is.
Silly people parading their opinions and suspicions as canonical fact.
...And. Uh. How on Earth is peanut butter USA-only?

Oh come on, it's obviously for fun; lighten up a little.
The reason that it's silly is mainly because you can make anything a metaphor for any number of things, because human interaction of interest follows patterns. It's the reason why it's cited that there's only a certain number of plots, or why Romeo and Juliet has been rewritten so many times, is because these things are essentially the same.
(This is also the reason why all political cartoons look exactly alike)

Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
I'unno, some people are pretty crazy about that stuff. x'3
Wahaha. It's still funny at first.
Maybe I'm just sour because my brain imploded after the second or third paragraph. ;3

Amazing. Suppose I'm just too simple minded to get too in depth about metaphors to real world happenings or some such. I always just thought the comic was you know, a comic. Still, it'll be interesting to read what else he puts up. I especially can't wait to see what he'll write about that most recent comic and Grape's confirmation of humans not having thumbs on their feet.

I admit, I thought of that, but only in passing. Now that I think of that again...Raikoo wrote:Amazing. ...that would be amazing. x'D
Hurry up Joshboy! Write faster! I want to see what you say for the latest! x3

Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
I imagine that if Grape's supposed to be America, then the latest would be a metaphor for uh... certain policies like having inspectors go in and investigate things or what was it called.. the Patriot Act? the one that made it so they can listen in on phone conversations and otherwise invade a person's right of privacy if they're suspicious or something.

Inspecting their toes for misplaced thumbs... o:Raikoo wrote:I imagine that if Grape's supposed to be America, then the latest would be a metaphor for uh... certain policies like having inspectors go in and investigate things or what was it called.. the Patriot Act? the one that made it so they can listen in on phone conversations and otherwise invade a person's right of privacy if they're suspicious or something.

Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
yeah the us only item i meant like it is an item that you can find in other places.... but it is predominantly used in the US... like Vegemite for Australia....
.... the patriot act sux.....

yes... ive been gone a while.... yes its cuz of LK....
Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
Peanut Butter is used everywhere. There's no real 'predominant' nation of peanut butter. Asian nations are all over that stuff, use it in their cooking and on its own all the time.Korilaz wrote:yeah the us only item i meant like it is an item that you can find in other places.... but it is predominantly used in the US... like Vegemite for Australia....

I just want to defend Peanut Butter from being given a nationality. :c
Especially considering that he's actually a symbol for India, right? ;3
I was going to make a joke but then I did.
Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
See, Peanut Butter is actually Guatamala. I'm just not sure how to tie the two together yet. Must be the ears.
Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
what ev..... im just sayin..... im more of a europe fan than i am an Asia fan...
yes... ive been gone a while.... yes its cuz of LK....
Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
Think long and hard enough, and I'm sure you'll justify it somehow. xwxRaikoo wrote:See, Peanut Butter is actually Guatamala. I'm just not sure how to tie the two together yet. Must be the ears.

yes... ive been gone a while.... yes its cuz of LK....
Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
This is getting way too confusing for a simple webcomic like this...
Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
That is a lot of text for something that's basically just a joke.

Sometimes the amount of text is the joke.Typo wrote:That is a lot of text for something that's basically just a joke.

what ev... this guy obviously has no life...
yes... ive been gone a while.... yes its cuz of LK....
Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
Well it's actually kind of sorta ammusing, as long as you don't take it seriously. It is however quite neat to see the kind of thought and detail put into someone's perspective on things, in this case a highly addictive comic.
Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
wow, that was way too deep for me.
Re: World political allegories inside Housepets
I'm disappointed there hasn't been a follow-up yet. :c

Okay as much as it's not that bad to resurrect dead topics if you have something additional to say on the matter I kind of feel the need to point out that this was from two years ago.Sasothehyena wrote:The link is broked
