Is it just me or is the progression of the English language nowadays just it becoming lazier and lazier interpretations of previously used slang?

Back in my day, our slang was creative! Heck, we'd make a word that was longer if need be to acheive just the right amount of creativity. Sometimes you had to make several connective thoughts just to find the root word of our slang terms. These kids today...*old man grumbling*...

Well, it's definitely becoming lazier. I can't really remark on its relation to slang from previous generations (as I'm not familiar with them), but the way a lot of people talk nowadays is more than a little frustrating. But instead of getting upset by it (like I used to), I've started just laughing at it. And I'll use it myself ironically from time to time just for the heck of it. :p

It's worst when texting or chatting online though. The way some people butcher words just irritates me. I've gotten pretty used to it at this point, as half of my friends tend to ignore punctuation and capitalization when they text, but it still irks me.

When I was little my sister told me that ur supposed 2 type like an idiot online. I thankfully learned my lesson after long and have been trying to type properly ever since.
