Re: Chat Thread 36: Get Off My Lawn!
You know, in my school last year, we built sheds in the carpentry program.
There were 4 inside the building, and one right outside. We just happend to have one of the worst winters in long time.
Of course, I was on the outside crew.
I had to go out and buy winter weather work gloves, a decent sweatshirt that was cheap enough for me not to care if it riped while I was working, and a fuzzy hat to where along with the hood on the sweatshirt.
And on top of that, when it snowed, the plows could not get close to the shed. So everytime it snowed, a ten foot circle of ice would form around it.
We had to lay down old roofing shingles and scraps of plywood down so we could walk without slipping and falling. We even had to get on ladders on the ice (I usally did that. Because I wanted too )
Not fun. (And of course we had a warmer winter this year than last year, so the kids this year got lucky.)

@The Grey Wolverine
Our sheds are not busy work.
They are built like houses, to state building code, and take all year.
And they are nice too, they end up looking like a small house.

because all they sing about is for them self, not others. for me song from 60's 70's 80's are really good, song from those times talk about real romance,real love, misery, truth and politics. etc. Not things like 'I want you deasease', easy boyfrined...Otaku-Boy wrote:Why do people like hating people like Justin Beaber, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry

I'm disappointed no one saw my image. Here it is:
Reason 2: They're really popular and people like consciously avoiding bandwagons, regardless of quality.
Reason 1: Their music is bad.Otaku-Boy wrote:Why do people like hating people like Justin Beaber, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry

Have you heard some of the shallow junk they played in the '60s, '70s and especially the '80s? Bad music is nothing new. The only reason the old stuff sounds better is because they don't play the crappy '60s music anymore, but they play the crappy '10s music.texascat018 wrote:because all they sing about is for them self, not others. for me song from 60's 70's 80's are really good, song from those times talk about real romance,real love, misery, truth and politics. etc. Not things like 'I want you deasease', easy boyfrined...Otaku-Boy wrote:Why do people like hating people like Justin Beaber, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry

There has been good and bad music this decade. Once it's out of style we won't have to hear the bad music anymore. But we'll hear the good music still.

Seconded. Gaga can actually sing, and some of Perry's singles are positive examples of pop trash. The only things I find fault with them is the forced quirkiness and the rather dubious marketing tricks, respectively.KJOokami wrote:I actually quite enjoy listening to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry on occasion.
