The purpose to your life

Post by 44R0NM10 »

First things first, please can we try and be polite and not get this thread locked? The thread is kinda controversial as it is, but I'm certain we're all mature enough to make sure no arguments or political/religious debates start.

But yeah, the question stands. What is your purpose in life? I mean, a lot of people think we have a purpose, and a lot of people think there is not one. I'd prefer to know what your purpose for your life if though, not the purpose for human life in general.

For me, the purpose is to plainly live life to the fullest. That means learning as much as possible, and experiencing as much as possible too. From skateboarding to para-sailing.

In my opinion, the purpose of life is to have no regrets. Do what makes you happy in the long run, and some things that make others happy, and your purpose is served.

but don't we learn from our mistakes and regrets? No offense. I think having no regret in life is big disadvantage in life, regret and mistake is an immunity for misery in future.

My purpose of life is to help others no matter the price I have to pay, and respecting each others

I'm always ready to sacrifice my self to save others. Thats why I'm thinking about joining Us forces (airforce).

Am I even in right track?

I meant finish up with no regrets. If you learned from the mistake and your life was made better from it, then you won't actually regret doing it in the end.

My life's purpose in a nutshell is to learn through the minds of others, have fun, help everyone when you can, avoid holding grudges at all cost, but at the same time, think for yourself.

This may sound kind of weird, but my purpose in life is just to be the best "me" that I can.
I may not be able to draw, and I may not be a totaly outgoing person, I may not be able to do a lot of things.
But the one thing I'm good at is being me. Live as who I am, be what I am, and not be affected by others.

But it's nice to have one asap. You get more time to develope if you have one early.
I had when I was Gr.8, It's about you maturity not your age. And I sounds like old man.

@brent got it, game called braid kinda relates to what we talked about.

The purpose to life I always believed is to achieve your goal at your maximum potential. If you believe you learned all you can, you should use it the way you want and achieve your goal the best way you can.

You have exactley how I look at it.

I'm older than I want to be, younger than I should be, and none of it makes any sense.
And it still is who I am, and I embrace it for what it is.

Theres a difference between "gaol in life" and "purpose in life". I have a gaol in life, just not a purpose.

Im mature( for a 13 year old, anyway), and I dont think you sound like an old man, an overbearing parent maybe(that wasnt an insult)
, but not an old man.

My purpose in life is, quite simply, to live. Go. Do. See. Experience.

That's all I really care about in life, currently. If I can maintain a degree of happiness until the day I die, my purpose will have been fulfilled.

The meaning of life? Standard philosophical question.

I would like to have contributed something to the world. Leave behind something to make the world a little better.
I don't think we have an objective purpose to our lives, in the sense that we were given a task that must be completed.
So I do not have a purpose, right now I would just want to be helpful to others and be satisfied with my life.
However, to have a strict goal or live life for a set purpose with a specific goal in mind, that I do not have.

I'd prefer to be able to give my religious take, because that's the real answer, but to give an honest answer that even nonbelievers can accept....

The purpose in life is to look to what you alone, as the unique individual that you are, can contribute to the world and society, and to do just that in such a way that that world and that society are better off for your having been in it.

Because each of us is unique, unlike anyone else who exists, has ever existed, or will ever exist again, and in so doing each of us has something positive to contribute to the world and to society that no one else can.

Of course, by "positive" and "better off" I mean being good to others, giving them what they need as you're able, and accepting charity offered to you with gratitude and humility, but those are things anyone can and should do.

Have a good job that allows me to have free time to do things I enjoy and spend times with those I love. I guess that's my main goal in my life for now.

To expierience as much as humanly possible. The world can be a playground if you want it to be, I think the purpose of life is to enjoy yourself as much as possible, and try to take some friends along for the ride.

Be happy by doing whatever I think what makes me happy. See some of the world, and see some of the people I learned to love. Entertain the people, as many of them as possible - Their laughter is my laughter. Oh, and learn as much about this world as such as I can.

To enjoy life to it's fullest and make as many other people happy as you can. Whether that's through telling a joke, sharing a skill or being someone to confide in, good karma makes the world go round.

Although I'm not exactly a spiritual guy, I do know that negative actions are followed by negative consequences almost 100% of the time. So it doesn't matter if you're an outgoing extrovert or a thoughtful introvert - go make someone feel good! :D

While researching I came across this website that had an article on the topic "How to find purpose in life."
Be warned, however, as it is just a little nuts but harmless enough.

I tried this test but got nothing, I spent about an hour on it. If anyone gets any results then do post about it.
