Please keep in mind the chat thread rules, which can be found in the first post of this thread.

On the first page of the topic, I wrote:Chat Thread Rules:
1.) Follow the Forum Rules
2.) The Chat Thread thread can cover any topic allowed on this forum, but do not allow things with existing threads to take over the thread. This includes role playing.
3.) The Chat Thread isn't the IRC; it's still in the forum format. Don't make posts that consist entirely of greetings, goodbyes, or acknowledgement of how people aren't posting at the moment.

Psykeout, I was quite capable with the bow, even when mounted. I'm pretty fantastically awesome, though.

Please do not post greetings or welcomes in this thread; that's not what it's for and it derails the conversation. This is not a chat room, you do not have to announce when you come and go. In fact, the rules I re-posted just a little farther up the page specifically forbid it.

Why wouldn't we be able to? *peers* Being a global moderator does not prevent one from breaking rules, ya know. I can ban everybody, up to and including [ that one guy ]. (Of course, I would never do that.) Oddly, however, one cannot warn or ban oneself. Hmm.

We can ban each other, but we can't. That is, Diss could technically ban be, but he'd get in hot water for it and Rick would restore my account and probably fire Diss.

Errr, the fact that one even has the ability to ban other Global Mods kind of irks me. In pretty much every other forum I've been active on only the Admin can ban Mods/Global Mods etc.

Assuming, of course, the ban were unwarranted and maliciously applied. Rick would back me for anything actually deserving of a ban, including power abuse. = P

Well there's a difference between warning and banning a Mod.

I think it's really, really unlikely a moderator would need banning. Even if one of us did, it'd probably be Rick's job.

How did mods became mods? Did Rick chosed you and mods at the very first time when this forum created? Like chosen ones? I've been wondered about that for quite a while.

Rick chose the original (Buckdida and Foxstar) and second (Dylan and Ebly) classes of global moderators. When the roleplaying forum (which then included fan fiction) needed a moderator, an application thread was started and the global mods chose ctcmjh as the first forum moderator. Kyderra and myself were selected later to run The Comic and Not the Comic, respectively. Everyone else was eventually elected.

I'm basically only a moderator because I never left. (Heh, I suck.) = P I think the current staff is sufficient. As the forums grow and staff members come and go, we'll undoubtedly have positions open up occasionally.

Oh trust me I understand that, I can tell there's no need for any mods right now. (As far as Not the Comic goes, I don't really visit other forums)

Just saying, if there is ever an open spot, I'm confident I could do a good job and would like to be one.

well, then be active enough to get nominated if a position opens up. All the forum mods are moderating sections they frequent.
for example, Pea and I are almost always here and in the forum games.
Copper reads most of the fan fictions and is active in the comic section.
44, House, and ctcmjh are all moderately active in the RP section.
so the users of those sections nominated then elected us to our respective positions.

Well of course I would only expect to become a mod in Not the Topic. (if it ever happened anyway)

I plan on being active for awhile, I was at one point the most active member on the forum and had the most posts at one point before I took a year hiatus. So don't bank on me being inactive anytime soon.

After Kyderra's and Dissension's promotion, there was an election for new forum moderators and a new global moderator. Dissension was promoted to a global moderator, I was promoted to a forum moderator for Not the Comic, and everyone else you see who's a forum moderator was promoted to their current position. Then Dylan stepped down (I miss him moderating, personally), and then Buckdida did (I miss him moderating too) and Rick promoted me to global to take his place. That's where we are now.
