Is it an awful service because you tried it and think it's an awful service? Or is it an awful service because it isn't Steam? The Grey Wolverine wrote:dude, its free. But never get EA Origin, such an awful service.
Seems like most people believe it isn't good because of the latter.

Re: Chat Thread 36: Get Off My Lawn!
Its just so rage inducing, it has all the problems of EA servers, being down for days at a time, randomly disconnecting people from the game, being laggy, buggy ect. And it makes inviting people INTO a game a hassle, AND for some games like Syndicate, where you NEED a full team, it likes to freeze people joining the game, than they need to restart Origin if not their PC. In short, Steam has fewer flaws, and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, seriously, best worst game ever, it once glitched, turning me into a floating head .

Origin is pretty awful

I don't find any major problems with orgion, it is only for playing bf3 for me.
I perfer steam because of lots of support and community systems
and TF2 FTW, but tf2 is getting worse on every hat update.
Joy: just ranked up to major in bf3

It'd be better if you just summed up what happened. Linking to a song or a YouTube video with an occasional swear word buried in it is one thing, but things like that are too much. Also, do yourself a favor and leave the FA forums. That place is just a cespool of drama.

So yes, Origin is pretty buggy sometimes, what can be pretty annoying under normal conditions and absolutely awful if money transactions are involved.

I was just asking because it's been seeming like the cool new thing to do is to hate on Origin.

I don't play any games that use Origin, but I don't really understand why any such online service is necessary for games that you buy and install physically with a disk and whatnot.Dubiousity wrote:I was just asking because it's been seeming like the cool new thing to do is to hate on Origin.
Super fascinating poll question: Which do you use- disc or disk?
I wrote disk first, then that looked wrong so I tried disc and realized that they're both valid spellings.

I typically say disc when I type it out, that's just me though. I don't think either spelling is wrong.

Re: Chat Thread 36: Get Off My Lawn!
I just read the Sundy Funnies (about a week ago I realized I had I started instinctively pronouncing "Sunday" like my Tennessean grandparents for whatever reason) (also yes we own a subscription to a compilation of newsprint including a one day advance on the Sunday comics for whatever reason) and I think it's interesting that an industry centered around producing gags every single day of the year finds April Fools' Day to be anything of note, especially when the ones about April Fools' Day are usually even less funny than others.
Oh, and here's another question for the world: has anyone else ever read Lio? If so, what's your opinion of it?
I can sort of understand why people like it, but I've never found it funny.
"Hey what's up?"
"Disc"
Oh, and as per Wiktionary because I only accept information in Wiki format:

I usually say disc too, regardless of context.Sleet wrote:I usually say "disc."

Oh, and as per Wiktionary because I only accept information in Wiki format:
heerz whut it sed wrote:In International English, disk is the correct spelling for magnetic disks. If the medium is optical, the variant disc is usually preferred, although computing is a peculiar field for the term. For instance hard disk and other disk drives are always thusly spelled, yet so are terms like compact discs. Thus, if referring to a physical drive or older media (3" or 5.25" diskettes) the k is used, but c is used for newer (optical based) media.

and therein lies the real joke. The one day that everyone is encouraged to be funny, newspaper comics ironically choose that day to make their jokes sub-par.CaptainPea wrote:the ones about April Fools' Day are usually even less funny than others.
of tangential (or possibly direct) relation, who's checked out the quest feature on Google maps? it makes street view more fun.

I like the April Fools comics. For one day of the year, they actually break away from their boring mold.

Re: Chat Thread 36: Get Off My Lawn!
It would be if they were making April Fools' Jokes, but most of these are making jokes about April Fools' Jokes (as in, the jokes are are being pulled by the characters rather than the authors), which go just about as well as any normal day's comic.Sleet wrote:I like the April Fools comics. I don't read newspaper comics at all.

Re: Chat Thread 36: Get Off My Lawn!
Yeah, I rarely pick up a newspaper at all, much less so for a specific purpose. Granted, on the rare occasion that I do, I tend to search for the comic section immediately.

I like burning stuffs too but not the papers. Because it makes lots of dust and ash. On other hand, recycling would be better than burning. :p

Sometimes I like to pretend I'm a pyro to make myself feel edgier.

did anyone else see that red ninja pop in earlier and leave a guitar? weird.
I don't get newspapers, and getting them just to burn them seems wasteful.
