One of the cool things about the main cast being the equivalent of in their early twenties (more or less) is they don't have to show their parents if they don't want to.

I assume that their parents live in Cloudsdale. They both were raised in Cloudsdale, so it makes sense that their parents still live there.

Hehe. I just think it's an odd coincidence that the two pairs of parents we don't know anything at all about both belong to the pegasi of the group.

Looks like the Valentines episode, instead of being about Bic Mac and Cherilee interacting, it'll about random magic potion to create the problem.

But, this is a huge let-down. I was hoping for a huge development for Big Mac. See him being romantic or actually be the one to notice their relationship ins't going anywhere.

Significant character development isn't likely in a show that's made to be mostly viewable out-of-order.

But they did signficant character development before with other characters. Don't you think it would be alwfully weird to see everypony (even Pip) running away from Luna? Or See Twilight again worried with letters? Or see Applebloom still ashamed of her grandmother?
I'm not saying for them to show "new" episodes about old issues, but ignoring previous character developments closes the doors of many future episodes's ideas.

(though if I recall, she wasn't actual;ly ashamed of her until that episode). And they pretty much re-explained the whole Nightmare Moon thing in that episode anyway.

What i mean is: If there's no continuity, what's to prevent characters making the same mistakes over and over and over again

So that's how they're going to handle the book-reading thing. Needless to say, I'm now doubly excited (inb4 The Excitement Has Been Doubled! jokes) for the new episode. 83

Also, Naylor's already stated that he has no intention or desire to do anything beyond PG-13 with ponies, so there's no need to worry there. I quite enjoy his style, so personally, I'm looking forward to more Naylor ponies.

If you're worried about any direction he might take with it, I'd recommend reading his latest journal on his DA page. It's very well thought-out and is a pretty nice response to all the people who are constantly sending him messages protesting (or encouraging, in some people's case...) any "weird" angles he might try to take with this new FiM comic he's doing. And near as I can tell, he just doesn't have any desire whatsoever to do the sort of things he does with his own characters with the FiM cast (or ANY character that isn't his, as he explains in the journal).

Anyway, yeah. It's probably best not to discuss this any further to avoid crossing certain "boundaries". Just read his journal if you can (and haven't already).

my thoughts on the new episode: the ridiculous amount of flattering towards Raibow Dash at the beggining was painful to watch.
Caramel-relative as a doctor was kinda cool, buuuuut it had too much of modern technology for ponyville...
I can even imagine what MW thought "hey, I want to make the ficitional character that is just like the rainbow Dash to be her re-color. Great idea, huh?"
Also one cannot say "It's because she was imaginating herself in the book"
Daring doo was in the cover of the book, so not a valid point. The storiees of Daring Doo were okay, no problem in the actual book Rainbow Dash was reading.

Also we just discovered the real reason of the change from Ditzy DOO to Derpy.

As to end my contribution to the Jay Nayblor subject, just look some of the previous arcs of Original Life. You'll see what i meant.

edit: Just discovered it wasn't MW who wrote that episode. I'm sorry for believing an internet rumor.
