Grape: Yeesh, no wonder they call him "old" yeller.
Old Yeller: "... and then they told me, "Sorry Yeller, looks like we're not making a sequel." I made a cameo in "Air Bud," but that's the last time people saw me on the silver screen.

So, I have the best flawed idea. I plan. I'm going to get myself a pet fox. Than, when the end of the world happens, I'll keep the fox to keep as a companion. How cool would that be? Also, this plan makes no sense.

well for those two examples i showed, i wasn't actually very imaginative at all!! all i did was open them up in textedit and moved around parts of the data so it was in other places, deleted a few parts, added some random characters, etc. etc.
it's extremely hard to predict what actually happens when playing around inside a picture, because, you know, unless you're actually a computer it's pretty hard to read! it's basically chance, but you kind of learn vaaaaguely what the effect of what you do is over time.

some people do find-and-replace things, and i suppose that's a lot more predictable, but i honestly haven't thought of trying that yet. what would i search for? what if there's an instance of what you're searching for in the actual header of the image? it just seems odd to me.

and for some reason, i simply cannot edit jpgs on my windows, it invariably breaks the file with no hope of anything actually coming out functional. i can, however, go to freaking TOWN on them using my mac. case in point: for one image, i deleted all the data leaving just the header and a couple lines of data that i missed (because seriously, i have NO idea where the header ends and the image begins, it's so trial-and-error). i replaced the data with a two-part blog post on "how to make glitch art" (the posts are actually quite useless to me, everything i've found out has been by myself, and everything in the posts that i tried didn't work on my machine, so i think this 'glitch' stuff really depends a lot on what you're using). picture still works (though it's... interesting – when i open it on a windows machine, it's pretty much all pink, but when i open it on my mac, it's a rainbow like you would see in the thumbnail if you actually downloaded the picture.)
Anyway, said picture is extremely boring for windows users, but it's here regardless and you can actually read it yourself if you force it to open in notepad. Note that for some reason, when doing so, all the returns are deleted and occasionally some random characters seem to have been added, so it just looks like a massive wall of text, but it's all there and it's certainly readable!

there are some more interesting things that other people do that i have been unable to, such as, for example, editing images as audio. i have yet to figure out how it works; i just keep breaking the pictures that way :( that said, i have gotten some extremely interesting tunes out of importing pngs as "raw audio" in audacity. usually it's just noise, but occasionally i've actually managed to get things that sound like... well, something? every other format just comes out as noise, it seems
