Zecora said in her diagnosis that greed speeds up the growth of a dragon, but didn't mention anything about that being the -only- way they can grow. I'd say it's pretty likely we'll see him start to grow normally at some point (hopefully once they've gotten his mid-stages of growth to look a little less awkward...), or at the very least, we'll see him grown up in an epilogue-type thing when the series finally ends.

do you ever really crash or even make a sound?"
ya, character driven episodes usually mean they are gonna be jerks. how else will they learn?
anyway, todays episode was da shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiz!!!! i absolutely loved it! spike got some new powers (tongue feats and extra eyelids), pinkie pie demonstrated that she can teleport(!), and spike x rarity is back in FULL THROTTLE!!!
besides from the fan driven content which i loved, the episode itself was awesome. spike actually growing and not just enlarging was absolutely excellent. sure, his head looked kinda weird, but i'm fine with (i leave the "it" out of "i'm fine with it" for reasons i can't explain. i just like saying "i'm fine with". :p). its just how they wanted to make him! its all good in my opinion. i'm even glad they stuck to their own concepts.
referencing king kong is pretty decent. i liked it, really. but lately there have been a lot of references. i'd like to see a bit more originality and a bit less refs. like really, no refs at all. no big lebowski pony and no nothing.
i really like how they depicts dragons in equestria. its pretty awesome. they got the concepts really well here.
and all the usuals were awesome as ever.
p.s. i'm going back to the army tomorrow. this time for 2 weeks. but good news! my parents surprised me with an iphone with global internet access, so i might still post mid week (if i'v got the time in the small breaks and if i'm not completely pooped out by the end of the day when we get one hour before its bed time). cya all later! (also, i'm posting this here because i only come to this forum for this particular thread and the occasional interesting topic. hope thats ok.)

why would they make his mid-stages look less awkward when the human mid-stage looks awkward?
This is my new head cannon concerning dragon growth: Dragons can grow by age and by hoarding. The dragons NEED to grow as they hoard not only to protect their treasure, but also to protect themselves since they age VERY slolwy. Remember 100 years can be spent in a single nap. If they couldn't grow because of the hoard instinct they would be an easy prey for other creatures, like hydras, griphons, etc.

You know, funny thing, I didn't know what "FYI" actually meant until, like, three years ago.
Anyways, someone has written a crossover of MLP: FiM with John Carpenter's "The Thing". Considering that is one of my favorite Horror movies ever, I am debating whether or not to read it. The tagging said Dark, not Grimdark, so perhaps it will have a happy ending...

so no?
Well, that depends on what you mean by "heavy stomach". I'm not entirely sure what that means, and you didn't really give much detail about what it is about the ending that's got you feeling this way.

That's so awesome. I checked the music video hoping that was the hat Michael Jackson wore, but sadly it wasn't the same. That would've been an awesome reference if it was!

I have always enjoyed the show since G1, but it is a bit sad to see the series become so popular thanks to G4. Leave to the new generation. Awell, I am not saying it is bad. I watch the new episodes every Saturday. ^^

Keep in mind, while all of the MLP series are aimed towards girls, G4 is the first one that seems to have been made with the parents who have to watch it with their kids in mind. The others are understandable that few guys liked it, while it's understandable why so many guys like G4.
Time for some honesty. A few weeks ago I watched an episode of the G2 show. In it a group of friends started a lemonade stand to raise money for a tea set they wanted to buy, and had to deal with some competition as a group of colts tried to outsell them. And ya know...it wasn't too bad actually. I mean, the voice acting was grating to the ears, and the visual design has nothing on G4, but all around I enjoyed myself watching it. I could kind of see the "family resemblance" between G2 and G4, and the female characters were actually proactive in their attitudes, putting a strong work ethic to accomplishing their goal. They weren't all stereotypical girls either, as one of the boys tried learning their secret to success by appealing to one character's athletic nature. It was really surprising...
...my gosh. I'm actually analyzing an episode of My Little Pony with a critic's eye. I don't know whether to feel proud or shamed. XD
Heh, I don't know if I'm ready for the potential consequences of watching the older MLP shows yet (mostly because I might actually end up liking them). :p

Yeah, that's the way I'm leaning to, Sleet. Hm, I wonder if I could start a job as an internet critic like this, taking a look at the older MLP stu
Oh my gosh are you serious? Do you have any idea how bad an idea that is?! You'd have to review G3 eventually you FOAL!
...point taken.
no, do it
make a short series on the history of MLP
you don't have to watch every episode of G3, 3.5 or babies, just a couple and you get the idea
believe me i know
KJOokami: watch the pilot for G1
so much will remind you of FIM's pilot

What mariomarc said. If nothing else you should watch the G1 pilot, "Rescue at Midnight Castle."
Indeed. The villain of the episode, Tirek, is a true inspiration to villains everywhere! Mwuhahahahahah! You might even find some unexpected similarities between him and our favorite eternal night-seeking alicorn.
