That was a nicer way for The Captain to say "let's strive to keep this a thread about whether you are a furry instead of the kind of thread that gets creepy and drives away non-furs." Since it didn't work, let me try. Yes, I am a furry.

I agree.
however, I would like to say that I seem to be in the hugging and cuddling phase of guys who spend too much time with huggy and cuddly furries.

but again, I'm not a furry.

I think since most people have stated what they are, and this thread would probably fail if nothing were to happen, is it ok to still discuss the concept as long as we do not run off topic or into role-play?

As one of the bastians of humanity, I am not a furry. Although most of my friends here are.

I've only ever once had an overwhelming urge to hug someone, and it had nothing to do with the fact I'm a furry. :B

Well.. a hard(not hard for me to answer, just not sure if my scalesona is considered a part of the 'furry fandom') question to answer but yes I am indeed a furry. Have been since I was a young lass. First, I was a bat. In 09', I became a Velociraptor. (The scientifically accurate ones with the feathers and what not, mind you. Not the Jurassic Park ones.)

Do avian furs have a special classification as well? And if so, would that make Toxinus' a mix of a scalesona and whatever-bird-furs-are-called? :0

Featherscalesona? @.@

Edit: +5 Charisma. :3

No no, my dear little fluffball. I would still be a scalesona, for I am a reptile; a dinosaur. A prehistoric creature from a time long ago. Also, bird-furs are indeed known as avians.

Last I'd heard, as far as scientists understand it, most dinosaurs were genetically just as close to birds as they were to reptiles. That's one of the main reasons most renderings of raptors now include the feathers.

On-topic though (mostly): my votes still on Featherscalesona. :p

In this one website I went to, they referred to people like you as 'scalies'. If you were a serpent I could call you quetzalcoatl! Well that doesn't matter. I'll stop talking now

-waves a dismissive claw- Wanderer, we are known as scalies; the site was right on that. And if I was Quetzalcoatl, I would be fabulous.
Also, KJ; do you not think the name 'featherscalesona' would be a bit of a mouthful?

Mayhaps, good sir/ma'am (definitely ma'am; totally didn't call you a sir) mayhaps...

But then again, so is antidisestablishmentarianism. And that doesn't stop me from loving that word. :D

Edited to account for my lack of observational skills...

Well Sleet (neat name, by the way, Not my favorite weather, but it is fun to say!), mammals are much easier to draw than us reptilian or feathered creatures. Even I have difficulty drawing them, and that is what I am!

Ah, I should probably clarify that I am in fact, a female. (I saw that, KJ. I saw that.)

Anywho, that is a fun word to say with a very deep meaning.

Also, we don't have many females here either. hope you stick around for a while.

I will try to be as common on here as I can. I lack internet at my home you see, thanks to location; this is the first time I have gotten to enjoy the internet in a while. I hope I do get internet soon though... I saw an Insight truck near my home so it may be sooner than I believe.

And KJ, do not give me that Applejack face mister. I am not mad. I am called a male.. a lot. So, do not fret.

Though, being a huge King fan, I'd totally support an ICM.

Regarding the topic bout reptiles, I do know of another on here, a Crocodile. And just for simplicity's sake, I consider Furry as the want to be an animal, Mammal, Reptile, or anything else. (Except insects) In the case of insects, I use the word creepy instead.
Edit: I know spiders are arachnids or something, but I just use the word Insect. (Edited to avoid unnecessary off-topic post)

Would you include spiders? Cause they're not insects... Arent they?
And I've never seen a reptile furry except for that gecko

Yeah were not all that weird. But seriously, would you classify Arachnids as a type of furry?

I like to call insects buggies.

Anywho, if you include reptiles in the furry fandom, bugs; all bugs, are there too. Arachnids, Gastropoda; etc. it does not matter.

A beautifully drawn example-
Jumping Peacock Spider- http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6341538/ (an actual peacock spider: http://perpustakaan.blogspot.com/2009/1 ... pider.html)

Who cares about the science of it, Insect or not they are still in the same category of "Creepy Crawlies". But I would not classify them as furry, I will just put them in the category of creepiness.
