Charlie watched with an eager smile, as Dimitar swiftly climbed the tree.

“Hey, doesn’t this look amazing!” Charlie said, as she rested her paw on the tree near her. The girl watched with wide eyes, as birds and life around her crept out of the jungle.

“You know, after a while, it does tend to get a little bit boring. But this just never gets old.” The lycaon girl said, before smirking at Dimitar and running off the edge of the branch, swan diving into the Jungle below.

"I won't argue about that. I lived here more than half of my life and I have to agree with you, it never gets old." he said, observing the panorama.

It was the sound of the leaves that broke Dimitar's river of thoughts, making him to look around and figure why he was alone "Oy, wait for me!"

The man began to slowly going down the tree, before he finally stepped on solid ground and stood in front of smiling Lycaon "No more climbing on trees, okay?"

The lycaon girl smiled, “no need, were here already.” She said, gesturing for Dimitar to follow yet again. She walked along the track, a kick in her step and her eyes shining in the sunlight, as they approached the beginning of track.

Back in HK, Inspector Lin was FUMING! He had heard the news and had been raving mad. He had been deceived by that darn runt of a dog and he quickly fumbled through his files for a list of his best canines in the force for a replacement. He selected a file and slammed it on his table, then picked up the phone on his desk and dialed to Spencer's office in Merriweather.

''Hello? Spencers? I'm really sorry for the interruption my dear friend but may I request that you arrest that....that....DOG!.'' the angry officer said in a controlled tone. His fist slamming against the table could be heard as well as a few curses in Cantonese, but he remained his composure and spoke again.

''Place her under arrest. She is to be sent back to Hong Kong and charged for being an associate in an underground triad society. I will not tolerate this...not even my own colleagues in the force. I will be on my way with her replacement Corporal Tiara Wang and I will be escorting her back. I will most probably be arriving in the evening. Is that okay my dear friend?''

Spencers had dealt with Heads of States, who had come to relax and show they loved their pets. The Queen Mother herself and her Corgis were no strangers to their old lands. he knew how to deal with...volatile individuals.
"I can assure you, Inspector, Mae Li has been placed under arrest and will go under trial this very week, as per laws of this country. Whatever the result of trial will be, she'll be put in no condition of misdoing, ever again. But I must also inform you that I do not intend to extradict her, under no circumstances, so I fear, honored Inspector, that your trip here will be wasted time. As for the extraterritorial intruders, you may surely come to pick them, once we have judged properly. As for the traitors, they will be dealt harshly with.
"But I dearly hope you have used the tracking information I sent to arrest the members of that cartel."

''Yes it was very useful thank you very much. I do not have an idea of who the intruders are and I am in no position to pick them up. That I shall settle with our country's internal affairs and maybe they'll send someone over.'' the inspector said. ''But I must insist that she must be punished for her extreme misconduct, false documentation, negligence of duty and betrayal to the force. I will be on my way with a few gifts to express my sincere apology on behalf of the HK Police Force and with the new dog too, which I can assure she is a loyal and outstanding officer in the unit, unlike that piece of dirt who stands before you in your office right now. I'll see you sometime soon. Hopefully I'll be permitted to attend Mae's trial too. Goodbye..'' And with that, he hung up the phone. A female German Shepherd knocked the Inspector's office door shortly, and he beckoned her to come in.

''<Congrats. I've selected you for the International K-9 Intern Programme. Do this one well and I'll be personally promoting you to Sergeant. Got that? Pack your stuff, we're leaving in 3 hours...>''

''Yes sir!'', Corproal Tiara said, saluting him and and exiting his office to go pack.

Mae turned her head to Spencer. Her erect ears had roughly picked up the conversation at the other end of the line and her eyes widened with fear. She knew who it was, and it wouldn't be surprising if he had placed her under arrest, but her heart still beat with worry and her head spun round in circles, fearing other consequences she might face.

''Wh...what did he say? What did Inspector Lin say??'' Mae asked, looking up. Her paws were placed on his free hand and shaking it. She knelt down before him, desperate for an answer.

Randy kept looking at her from the corner of the office, and looking back at Salina. ''I hope that the punishment wouldn't be so harsh. She isn't one to take pain alot...'' he commented softly as he held Salina tight.

Spencers shrugged. "Basically, he wants to rip the fur off your body with his bare hands and mount your head as a trophy in the museum of the shame. I will have to twist a couple of arms to prevent the bloodshed." Spencers walked to Mae. He put his hands on her shoulders. "I will have to arrange an interrogation with him, and I think you know already it won't be a pleasant thing. He'll have the right to ask you whatever he wants, but the justice will be present as well, she will prevent things getting...too rough.
"Now, Mae, there are two options left, and you must weigh them: you choose to stay here, I'll make it so. You choose to go back to Hong Kong, I won't be able to protect you. It's unfortunate, but it is that easy. Inspector Lin will be here in eleven to fourteen hours. You have time enough to decide."

''Oh my God please...I don't wanna go to jail!'' Mae begged Spencers, now tugging on his arm a bit more harder in desperation. The thought of her being locked up for long periods of time made her panic. She was particularly claustrophobic about being behind bars and shook her head constantly.

''Please Spencers!!!...Talk to the Inspector for me! Tell him to waive of my imprisoment! I love my home, and I don't mind being here too but please! Don't send me to jail please!...'' Mae cried out, bursting out in tears.

Randy looked up at Victor and Salina as he witnessed his best friend break down in front of Spencers. ''Oh no....she really will not do well in prison...or the pound for that matter...and I feel a bit bad for her....isn't there anything we can do??'' Randy asked his wife as he gripped her paw tight.

''WHAT?! S.....SPENCERS WHAT...WHAT ARE YOU ASKING?!'' Randy exclaimed while in Salina's arms. He tried to tug free, but his small body couldn't free himself from the gentle grip of her paws on his body.

With the aid of the hallucinogen I used to make our foes believe their guns had transformed, and some make up, I fear the good Inspector Lin will have to accept that you pulled your gun to your head and offed yourself. He will scold me for this security breach but alas, one cannot predict everything." the man smirked. "Of course this means you will have to spend some time in Arcadia. No one will know you are there, tourists never venture in that area of the island. There you will heal from your emotional scars, they are too deep for...orthodox cures."

Mae was cut off in mid-sentence as she heard another voice in her head. Her eyes widened as she thought it came out from Spencer's mouth. It was too good to be true. If she went to this...place, would she really receive a cure for her failing eyesight?

''H....Huh?!'' Mae exclaimed, having her jaw drop to the floor. ''I will really receive better eyesight if I were to travel and spend time at Arcadia?''

His tail wagged rapidly and everything about him was aggression. He barred his fangs at the spirit and growled deeply.

Back at Arcadia, Lars, once a wounded and badly injured dog, was now recuperating at an amazing pace. Usually wounds and broken bones would take months but something magical and miraculous was going on after that rabbit had touched his chest and invoked some healing spell on him. He slowly opened his eyes to the welcoming warm sunlight. He was lying on a bed and was in a room which looked like a hut of some sort. He slowly looked around, and for the first time in hours he felt his body again, except he was still a little weak.

''I'm....thirsty...'' the german shepherd said hoarsely, hoping some could hear him.

Mae's eyes widened. Was he truly saying that? Was he joking? P...pups?!

Her mouth hung open as she stared at Kaiser non-stop. She finally stopped gawking over and calmly stood before him. ''Oh my God....Kai...do you really mean that?'' Mae said, using a paw to hold her stomach. Was she going to be a mother soon??

Lars coughed as he tried to sit up. His arms, legs and back felt as if they were filled with lead. After a few minutes of struggling, he managed to sit upright and take the cup into his shaky hands. He lifted the drink to his mouth, and sputtered and coughed after taking a sip.

''*Cough* sorry...about..that...'' Lars said, handing him back the cup. ''So....where am I...'' he asked, his sentences now sounding much more complete.

''Ooh...does that mean she will be traveling back with us? Back to Arcadia? If I remember correctly....that blessing ceremony over our future cubs hasn't been carried out yet.. Randy said, looking up at Salina and giving her a smooch.

I am tired, hungry, thirsty...and honestly...I need to dunk my face into some water or something...I am a dirty piece of crap right now...'' Lars said, grimacing as he tried to get out of bed. With shaky arms he managed to push himself off the bed and steadied himself with his two weak feet. He managed to place his paw on the wall to prevent himself from a fall.

''This...IS gonna be difficult isn't it'' Lars muttered. He wobbled as he tried walking towards the shaman, but only brought himself to the floor more. He was like a sober drunkard.

''Yay!'' Randy exclaimed as he squirmed out of Salina's gentle grip and bolted towards his friend. He had doubts about her sudden behavior and actions but something about her change of heart changed all that. ''Mae is definetly back everyone!'' he said, giving her a hug and patting her back. He smiled and wagged his tail. ''And Mae, you won't be alone too! Me, Salina, Victor and the villagers of Arcadia will be here for you! You will never forget this!'' Randy said in a yelp-like manner.

Mae just said nothing but she couldn't help smiling a lot. Smiling for the first time in many years. She kept looking at her mate Kaiser and gave him a smile which was so confident that it broke down any barriers of mistrust.

''Spencers, may we make our way back to the village now?'' Randy asked excitedly.

He still limped a little since he had broken bones in his legs but they felt better after every step. After a few steps he stopped in astonishment. He felt a tiny crack and within seconds...he felt his bones become whole again. ..Wha.....what is this!!, the german shepherd thought as he let the shaman help him to the second room. He sniffed the air as he caught the scent of freshly cooked food wafting into his nostrils. ''Wow...Mr Shaman....something smells really good...'' he commented, licking his lips.

Victor, keeping Salina on his lap, and Salina holding Randy, said, "Hey, Mae! D'ya really wanna have pups wid dis doggy-boy? It's a waste of DNA, believe me! Ye want a nice, hunky villager, like Randy and Salina! Best crossblood evah!"

Mae stared at Victor with a raised eyebrow as he had his sister holding Randy on his lap. Did this guy had thighs of steel or something? And Salina was already taller and bigger than her mate. She was astonished.

Mae smirked at Victor's comment. She crossed her arms and used a paw to swipe some dirt below her eyes. ''Haha nah. I'm more of a modern type of girl. I'm into city boys like Kaiser. He's my baby now! And besides...betcha never seen a husky crossbred with a german shepherd. That's exotic! BEST CROSSBLOOD EVAH!!'' she cried out playfully with a fist in the air.

Lars sniffed the food presented to him. It did not have a particular form, but it reminded him of what humans usually ate. The cheese excited him. He looked around a grabbed a wooden spoon and shoved it into the bowl. He brought up a hearty helping to his mouth and chewed it, savouring the taste as the flavor had been churning out vividly and explosively among his tastebuds.

''W...wow! What is this?! This is really good!'' Lars asked as he began stuffing himself with more of the stew. The meat was so tender that it seemed like it melted upon sinking his razor sharp teeth into it. ''Oh my Lord....this is fantastic!'' Lars cried out.

The german shepherd grinned. "I like to live dangerously, too, what can I say?"

"That's a stew very rich in fat and calories. It will give you the strength yo recover. After your meal, we'll proceed to cleanse your flesh." the wolf shaman pointed at two gorgeous lycaon females, their bodies painted with that same blue hue, waiting at the entrance of another room.

Lars dropped his spoon the minute the shaman pointed to the pair of female Lycaons at the entrance of what seems to be the bathhouse. His eyes widened and his half chewed stew poured out of his mouth like a waterfall and back into the bowl. His shocked expression soon turned into a very naughty grin.

''Sweet. This is the best deal I ever got. Hey ladies..'' Lars called out but with his smexy gruff tone. He used it especially when he was in the mood to court another dog. ''Man...the ladies are the bomb....hey there ladies...'' Lars said, winking his right at them and flashing his teeth, letting the sun shine down on them.

The females just stood there, smiling with their lips only.
"You don't need to court them," the wolf said. "They will take care of your needs as well, since they are part of what we are. Be kind to them and they will be with you. Now finish eating: remember, all in good time."

''O...okay!'' Lars said, quickly taking huge slurps of the stew as he eyed the Lycaon girl on the right side of the entrance. And the left...and the right....if only he could court them. Maybe he would?

''*glub...glub...*...Done! Now, let's get these two lovely ladies to wash me down yes?'' Lars said with a tinge of playfulness in his tone.

Both females walked to him. Each one took him by the arm, gently helping him up, then leading the dog to a room with a small pool. Delicate scents came from the hot water. The walls themselves were civered with plants.
"Now, please step in," the german lycaon to his left said. "Sit on that bench, we will take care of you."

''..Y...YES MA'AM!'' Lars said, stammering with his words. He never knew that the villagers here were THAT attractive. Maybe he had been in the city too much. This was simply the exotic holiday he could be having right now.

He sighed with relief as he sat down. Everything about the bathhouse was so invigorating. The hot water emitted a steam which was filled with an aroma that just made Lars melt inside. But again, he took a quick sniff at the Lycaon girl which he saw on his left. It drove his senses crazy!

''W...wow...you--I mean...This bath smells really really nice. Something I can't seem to get out of the normal spas in the city...what d'ya think lady?'' Lars said, cheekily trying to start a conversation with one of them.

"We have no experiences of such places," said the female to his right.
Once their guest was set down, they removed his collar. Then they both dipped their paws in a big stone bowl containing an amber-colored wax. Then they placed each behind and in front of the german shepherd and started rubbing his body with the wax, wich soon turned into a delicately scented foam. Grime, dust, old hair -it cleansed him quite effectively.
The female behind Lars started rubbong thoroughly his tail. "We are born on this island and never left it."
