Re: Art Thread
Don't worry, I'm not going to do that. Any shouting will be done in a natural way to only make me look weird and not awkward.

Re: Art Thread

@theblackcateyes: Was that based from the photo of yourself? xD It's pretty good, other than what Brent pointed out.
And here's the coloured version of the doodle I made earlier:
Had to colour over the outline. I: But I guess it's fine. Can't Soft shade to save my life. I just like the hair though.
Re: Art Thread
What program did you use to color that O_o (if it is a program).

Hmm...the program seems to be only made for people who has tablets. I use a Bamboo tablet myself and aren't Cintiq's rather expensive?

yes I want to make this clear to everyone.NickCole wrote:Hmm...the program seems to be only made for people who has tablets.
SAI IS REALLY COOL BUT IT'S NOT WORTH ANYTHING WITHOUT A TABLET.

Re: Art Thread
The low end Cintiqs are pretty much a thousand dollars, so yeah, they're rather expensive.NickCole wrote:Hmm...the program seems to be only made for people who has tablets. I use a Bamboo tablet myself and aren't Cintiq's rather expensive?
Re: Art Thread
I don't really see why I would want a cintiq when I can get a bamboo or something (being that I'm only drawing and not doing professional concept art or anything of the sort).

Re: Art Thread
Because those things are amazing? But yes, I agree - I'm quite happy with my little Bamboo, you don't really need anything more.yehoshua wrote:I don't really see why I would want a cintiq when I can get a bamboo or something (being that I'm only drawing and not doing professional concept art or anything of the sort).
Had I $3000 to blow, though...
Re: Art Thread
If I had 3k to blow, I would buy a bamboo and open a savings account.

Re: Art Thread
Wait!!!!! things can be cheaper than Cintiq!?!
Ok, I need to take a better look at the internet.
(btw: how accurate are Bamboos?)

Re: Art Thread
It just takes time to draw without looking at the pen for Bamboo tablets (Or any tablets with pen).
It took me roughly 3 months for me though but it was all worth it. Just needed to use it everyday or at least often.

Re: Art Thread
Hey guys. I want to make a painting, and I was wondering, what tools do artists use to make accurate curves?
Re: Art Thread
or if you mess up market it as modern artAnthroguy101 wrote:Hey guys. I want to make a painting, and I was wondering, what tools do artists use to make accurate curves?

Btw:
Its the Ambraali soldier I'm putting in a poster along with all my other Humanoid aliens.
this guy is the only realy finished character, and the rest of the poster isn't exactly PG, thats
why there's just him for here now.

well for one, Grape's looking a little less tomboyish than usual. but that's a style choice.
Re: Art Thread
@Irony: That's a very interesting style you have there~ o uo
And here are some more soft shading practice;
I don't really know how the fur details go so I was just guessing all over the place.

Re: Art Thread
You can get a slightly dated refurbished TabletPC computer pretty cheap. I had the (2005)ThinkPad X41 Tablet for only 200USD. It has a wacom digitizer and the screen was 12" 1024x768. (and precision of the digitizer was quite dandy too, many many times more precise than the visible pixels on screen)
I think it's a good idea if you can't afford a cintiq and don't like bamboo tablets. I believe rick uses a newer model for the digital art in the comics.
Anyways. some more art from one of my favorite artists!

he drew a slight variation of my fursona (which i totally love btw )
