I think Nintendo wants to keep Brawl Nintendo-centric and have 3rd-Party characters to a minimum (i.e. Banjo-Kazooie, Megaman, Ryu, etc.)

Krystal would be a neat addition if they don't treat her like another swordsman. And I don't think we need a 4th person to summon a Landmaster. ಠ_ಠ

Microsoft owns Banjo and Kazooie. Megaman seems like a no-brainer, though.

I always thought Krystal would work well as a faster Zelda of sorts.

Megaman is a no-brainer. Plently of fan polls want Megaman in a smash bros game but Capcom and/or Nintendo don't seem to want to put him in.
There was talk about the bad blood between the two after the Gamecube exclusive Resident Evil 4 went to the PS2 and other stuff. They seem to be on better terms since Capcom's biggest seller, Monster Hunter 4, is coming exclusively to the 3DS. But after Megaman was shafted from Marvel vs Capcom 3 and with the two upcoming Megaman games, MM Universe and MM Legends 3, both cancelled it doesn't look like Capcom has any more love for the blue bomber. Doesn't help that the creator of Megaman left the company too.

Although it doesn't matter right now. Even though a new Smash Bros was teased at E3 it'll still be a few YEARS before we get it. Remember how long it took Brawl to come out?

I am a big fan of Megaman....well, the classic ones and Battle Network ones, but it would be nice to see him in a new game that I would play, like maybe Smash Bros series.
At least he get Megaman 9 and 10 as of recent.

Being projectile based is hard to work into a fighting game. That's not really a fault of megaman as much as it is a fault of that sort of fighting game. Now, smash brothers would be easier to fit in because there are plenty of opportunities to use projectile-based gameplay. Heck, some of my favorite characters have the charge up projectile, similar to megaman. Basic attacks being a quick punch or something with his arm, easy peasy.

Can't Megaman X use the Zero Blade? Couldn't that be integrated as part of his Melee abilities?

That typically comes around when he has someone's powers. Hmm...I wonder if that could be integrated at all...Most likely. He would be an entertaining character to play if he's done right.

I think Megaman would work best if he just had a series of powers from the games and they don't change. A Kirby gimmick would be too hard to do without stepping on Kirby's individuality.

If anything, for Krystal, I can see her as an assist trophy, either going around either beating people with her staff, or summoning a Krazoa spirit, and if she was a main character, have the Krazoa spirit as her final smash

There's like eight from Mario, and the fourth game is going to have more than just 35 characters presumably. Krystal would probably replace Wolf if they added her and four is too many, though.

I like Wolf as a fighter, but the only reason I play him over Fox is because Fox is kinda meh in Brawl. If they fix Fox I have no problem losing Wolf.

It looks like they are giving Sora his original outfit, just different color. His outfit in number two was awesome! Why not bring that one back?
