I'm in that wagon, but I do think that games are more appropriate for 3D than, like, sports broadcasts, or pretty much anything on television for that matter.Tha Housefox wrote:Well... it's still expensive. And some people think it's gimmicky, so they won't get it.
Plus you have people like me who are a little disturbed by the fact that even Nintendo is jumping on the "Let's make everything 3D!" bandwagon.
Regardless, I'd buy it more for the fact that my DS is all but destroyed than for the 3D thing.
Re: Chat Thread XXX: It's Not What You Think
I kept my ds lite when buying this, I'm not really sure what to say about the 3d in it yet. The joystick was a very cool feature along with the motion tracking. I'm really hoping to get starfox.CaptainPea wrote:I'm in that wagon, but I do think that games are more appropriate for 3D than, like, sports broadcasts, or pretty much anything on television for that matter.Tha Housefox wrote:Well... it's still expensive. Re: Chat Thread XXX: It's Not What You Think
I played OoT on it, and despite the slightly annoying bits of hard to focus on 3D (for instance, taking out the slingshot. It's awesome that your slingshot actually has depth and you can move the DS to aim, but it's hard enough to look at it correctly to see the 3D, much less stay focused on it while you're moving it around the air. nearly impossible, though i enjoyed the challenge added to the game I knew as a pup), I was really happy to relive that nostalgia !N FABULOUS 3D. The new features of the 3DS are all really cool. Motion tracking, 3D, joysticks, etc., but honestly I just want to be able to play the games that are coming out on it. Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart. Reliving sequels and remakes of some of my favorite childhood games.

Re: Chat Thread XXX: It's Not What You Think
People focused too much on the 3D that they forget that this is a new and improved DS underneath that all. People act like it's the same thing as the DS, but with different graphics. There are a lot of great games coming out that wouldn't work as well on the DS. I'm especially excited about Paper Mario, which Psykeout could easily tell you about since I've squee'd like a schoolvixen over that to him.
I don't really mind the 3D at all, but I'd still enjoy the system even without it.

Honestly, I like the 3DS to an extent. I can't use the 3D at all without getting a headache, Iv tried every place on the slider, but it doesn't help, still its a good system, but the 3D drives me bat-I'm a loaf of bread with no raisins crazy. But it is a solid handheld. Grey tested, Wolverine approved!

Re: Chat Thread XXX: It's Not What You Think
I would like to get a 3DS at some point, but the lack of games is a real downer. And I'm not talking about enhanced ports of N64 games.
The worst part is many 3DS games are being delayed because the system isn't a hot seller, which in turn is because the 3DS doesn't have many games to sell.
I am looking forward to the PSvita, though.

Re: Chat Thread XXX: It's Not What You Think
I have a 3DS and really its a great system IMO. Yes the lack of games sucks but really I think a lot of the original games are just being delayed for the Christmas season and less it having to do with the 3DS not selling well (thought that is most likely also a factor) which is actually kind of normal really. The sales will pick up by Christmas for sure.
Re: Chat Thread XXX: It's Not What You Think
I'm worried about the backwards compatibility, does this thing have a slot for GBA games like my NDS Lite has? I really like playing Pokemon Leafgrean and Kirby and The Amazing Mirror...

No but your suppose to be able to download GBA games (like you can with Gameboy games right now) eventually and play them that way.

Re: Chat Thread XXX: It's Not What You Think
The GBA is like ten years old, so yeah, it can't play GBA games. It can play DS games just fine. And GBA games will be downloadable.

I was hoping for that to be done with the DSi store, but it never was, to my knowledge.

Re: Chat Thread XXX: It's Not What You Think
I'd venture to guess the Cartoons and Anime thread?
The 3DS could have 0 new games for all I care, as long as I can play Meteos it's worth considering.

Pea, you are the best person. I loved Meteos and I don't know of many people who did. Then they made that Disney one and they completely ruined it.CaptainPea wrote:I'd venture to guess the Cartoons and Anime thread?

Congratulations! Tablets have a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of them, they're awesome. Also, you may still want to draw on paper from time to time. ;3

I have a tablet, but I prefer to draw traditionally. At least until I get past that 5-year learning curve. >.>

I actually think the videos they're parodying are funnier. By the way guys, please avoid starting milk arguments.Sleet wrote:Has anyone seen these videos? They entertain me so much. Some of them, anyway.

Re: Chat Thread XXX: It's Not What You Think
In fairness, I can see the reason why a person learning American English would find those videos helpful. But at a certain point, they're not really doing anything. Like "Ke$ha", or "Bieber". Or "milk argument".

"My job is to monitor Not the Comic", it's like I've got the right words but didn't quite get them arranged correctly.

Try using quotation marks to make sure that it is one thing under the name of "Not The Comic."
