I've been watching Firefly a lot recently. So I got bored and sketched Peanut as Wash. :3

I might do the "Big Darn Heroes" scene next... once I can decide who to cast as Mal. At this point, its' a toss-up between King, Bino, and Keene (yes, you read that right. I have my reasons =P). Though I might have King be Simon. Not sure yet...

Grape is definitely going to be Zoe, though. :3

Fox should be Shepherd Book because I see him as a voice of reason in the GODC as Book is a voice of reason on the Serenity.

Agreed. I really like Firefly. It feels a lot more real than most Sci-fis

Hmm... Much as I dislike Bino, shown in the right light he might be a great Mal. Max might make a good Mal, but that wouldn't work b/c (firefly spoiler) the whole point of one of the episodes is that there is ABSOUTELY NOTHING in the way of romantic interest between Mal and Zoe (and you're casting Grape as Zoe, good choice).

I also like the idea of King as Simon. Simon has a little more of a gentlemanly attitude than King, but as far as a fan ~~parody~~ tribute goes, it would be good enough to have some fun with.

Yeah, those are the closest matches I'm likely to get. It ain't a perfect fit, but for those characters, it'll have to do. Sash is Kaylee, though. Any scene I've seen Kaylee in, I had no trouble picturing Sasha acting in exactly the same way. Also, now that I've watched more of the series, I think Max might be a better fit for Wash. Maybe.

Alright, next I'll do Sasha as Kaylee in her frilly dress (non-Firefly-watchers should read that as "Sasha in a dress"). How's that sound? :3

Don't be too hard on yourself, it looks great to me!

EDIT: and don't worry about Grape. All you need to do is color her in.....

this was an experiment I did, originally I just wanted to see what Grape's head looked like colored in but it turned out so good I decided to do all of her. I might completely color the image if I have time.
and I know the gun isn't quite colored in right, this was just a quick fun experiment. When/if I do the whole image I'll try to fix the gun coloring.

EDIT 2: I finally figured out where Grape's tail is supposed to be in that picture, that'll be fixed as well.

I'm terrible at doing my own art (I want to work on that) but I'm great at working with things that already exist. Coatl_Ruu, thanks for your art, I never would have been able to do these by myself. Basically all I did was digitally trace over your pictures and fill in the colors. For the most part, there were only tiny details that I had to figure out myself. I'm very pleased with how they turned out, though!

btw, I'd noticed some mistakes I made in the Peanut one, I've updated that post with the newest file. I also fixed the lighter part of Peanut's ear, which was bugging me. All three pics are also on deviantart and have been submitted to the housepets group.
