xhunterko wrote:"Still though, it was a good run," Mitch said, heading over towards the fence.

"Do you know what they had us do?" Mitch said, starting on another rant, "Rules. That's right, rules for play! PLAY for crying out loud! Not just gameplay rules, mind you, but, stupid social rules. Things like, owner gets boosted whenever you can, even when they're wrong. Favored guests are supposed to win. Never cheat unless your owner is losing. Let your owner win every time unless they specifically tell you how to play, etc etc." Mitch hopped up on the fence and offered a hand to the calico.

"Nice yard," he said, quickly looking hers over.
Eris took Mitch's hand to help her over the fence, and she easily scaled it, "Wow, that sounds really dumb!" She laughed, "Having rules for play like that sounds like it would get really boring really fast." She said, "You'll like it around here, I bet." She said as she leapt to the ground, "Thanks. My dad likes to take good care of it. And my I help him with that little flower garden." She said, gesturing to a small flower garden near the house.

"I hope. Ah, now there's something I could help with," he said, heading over the the small garden, looking it over, "You know though, there just weren't rules for play. And it didn't matter if we were having fun or not. We HAD to have fun. (Or at least act like it.) And we HAD to follow every, single, rule, or risk a beating. You pets have it lucky. That race back there? I technically should have let you win." Mitch set the half a rake on a side of the garden.

"Try not to let that get thrown away okay?" He asked.

"So, back door is in the center of the house yes?" Mitch asked hopefully.

- Not thanks, i am alright- Said Kurt to Dakotah - And you are good, I am glad to to hear your music-, then he went to the bookshelf and started to search a blank book, lucky of him, he found a diary in blank, so he took it out and took a pen, he sat down in a puff, an started to write inspired.

What Archy failed on he achieved as he used the tiny bit of boost putting him side by side again. He controlled the car with the joystick like he done this a million times before, AND on soda. He then turned the first corner as close to the barrier as possible putting the gas on as soon as he saw the exit of the turn. "I should have mentioned that I love racing games and only have them in my house. I'm like the pet, video gaming, Ayrton Senna" he then looked to Archy for a small second sticking his tongue out in a playful way before boosting down a straight making a bigger gap between Archy and himself.

"I've played racing games, but they're not my specialty" Archimedes said, not looking away from the screen. He used what was left of his nitro boost up to Ying and start inching on the lead. What he really needed now was a ramp or something to jump on and get ahead. That wasn't going to happen any time soon, the environment was nothing but curves going around the side of Hawaii at this point, every little contour.

The Ford was all over the road, taking the turns tightly to shave distance and time. If he could get enough he could maybe pull ahead. If he could find a nitro power up he could get ahead too, for however long that'd last.

Grey was quite content in reading the book, he became almost oblivious to everything, he stopped reading only to take a drink of his water. I should probably check the time, I have no idea how long I've been here Grey thought, taking his watch out of his pocket "damnaigh" Grey said to himself, closing the book and puttting his watch away. "Saphia" Grey said, turning his head to Saphia "I've got to go, If everything's to be ready, I've got a bit of setting up to do" Grey continued, picking up his bottle of water "and don't forget, to meet me near-by the park during the New Years party tonight, it's very important, feic tú anocht (see you tonight)" Grey whispered to Saphia, before placing the book back on the bookshelf and leaving the club-house, quick as a flash.

Gray glanced up at everyone once in awhile, watching where they were, what they were doing, and catching hints of their conversations. It was entertaining how some of these pets lived, and what they've done. Back in Alaska, everyone did pretty much the same thing. All the conversations going on right now, they were all new stories to Black. He laughed lightly and smiled diligently as he turned the page in his little booklet. His mouth parted as he sung quietly to himself."Rain in the fall, snow in the spring, please tell us all... what it means to be, part of something so free, as a country flying on the edge of the world..."

Lance watched as Grey left the club house as he took another sip of his soda. hmmm, wonder where he need to go so fast. Oh well no big deal. He thought to him self and shrugged. Lance looked around the room and noticed Kurt sitting alone writing something in a notebook. He walked over to him a peered over the book to get a look at what he was writing. "So what are you writing there Kurt?" he asked

-Ahhh... hi- Said Kurt to Lance, he never felt scary about his ideas, but he didn't know how this ones would be taken by the others... -JAJAJA *nerviously* nothing... is just a little of my imagination- He said looking blushed to Lance.

He then saw to the paper sheet, he noted that Lance appeared multiple times in his story -AGHHHH- he scream in his mind, with EPIC BLUSHED he was closing the diary, while ashamed he was waiting for the Lance answer.

Lance blinked he didn't see much of the story but he did notice that his name was in it, before it was slammed closed. He looked at Kurt a bit confused at first then noticed his obviously embarrassed look. "You don't have to be embarrassed man I don't mind you using me in your story." He said reassuringly. He took another swig of his soda and gulped it down he wasn't that much of a soda drinker so it was effecting him a bit. "So ummmm what is the story about?" He asked as he sat down close to Kurt.

-Ehh... (blushed) it's about, well, it's complicated...- He was so nervious, Lance was sitted next to him -What are you doing? Stop blushing!!!- He thought, but he can't do that, his body was becoming apart from his mind.

-Oh no, i am silent, say something, whatever that you imagine- he thought with EPIC BLUSHED, while Lance saw him very strangely.

-Ahhhh, i will see you later guys!!- He said it loud without he noticed, and then ashamed took his things and went out for the door... he ran for the street, and scared and ashemed went to his house.

"Me? Hero?" The shepherd smiled. "If I remember correctly, you were the who saved Rikki in the forest! And you were the one who saved me, and Paige, and Will too! But you know what? I think I'm fine with us being each other's heroes." As he turned back towards the DJ set and Shamrock, Darien realized they were having a personal moment in front of the labrador. Valiant loved when his mate turned all red. Indeed he felt like they completed each other. It was such a great sensation...
"Hey, son!"
The wolfdog turned to his father. "Yes, Dad?"
The man came out holding out a printout. "Check this. Looks like we have another troublesome guest on the loose."
Valiant examined the sheet, then muttered a curse. he hoped this exotic feral wouldn't cause troubles...And even if there *was* Animal Control, for that, Valiant's instincts told him to go join the authorities in the search...
For sure, once Lance's parents were shown this stuff, many pets would be called home early and not allowed to leave until the feral was captured. A red panda wasn't exactly a big threat in itself, but the letter's tone could make one think of a rabid or very crazy guy.
Valiant said to Darien, while handing him the printout, "Dari, post this on your blog, then call Lance. Sham, spread the voice. the party's canceled until further notice. Oh, and Dari, contact Ying and both check the source of this message. There's something very wrong with this: I never heard of a psychotic Red Panda, so we could have a case of mistreatment, here. I want to know as much as possible about the author of this message. I'll have Rikki work on it. Got it all?"

Destiny snorted, laughing bitterly. "So it's a common thing for parents to be jerks then?" She snapped, glaring at the ground. Her anger left her in sudden whoosh. "I'm sorry, it's not my place to joke like that. What did he do to you?"

"Danke" the white dog answered, focusing on the screen and trying to 'will' his car into winning. It would never work, but anyone playing a game that came down tight would always think 'come one, a little more, almost there.' "Sie sind auch gute." (You are also good.)

The race was tight, these cars were pretty even and Archimedes was out of boost to use. It was going to come down to whatever boost Ying had, unforeseen elements or the distance between two vertices. The timer continued to count and the finish line drew nearer and nearer. Almost. Almost. Almost....

Passed! The cars shot right on through the finish line! The white dog let out a held breath and remembered to breath, then fell back onto a conveniently waiting bean bag chair. For a few seconds he ignored the screen as he wasn't so sure he wanted to know this game's victor, it was fun playing and the thing of win or lose could always be a downer.

"Ok, maybe a sip of soda wouldn't be a bad thing" he admitted, which wasn't too wrong, he was too tense and needed to loosen up.

Saphia was about to answer and ask what that last part meant, but he was gone before she could. She went back to reading, but her mind kept wandering back to Grey. What is the "surprise"? Why does he need me? Why is he being so nice? What does "feic tú anocht" mean? At least that question she could find the answer to. Saphia got up from her seat and went over to the bookshelf, hoping to find a translation book of some sort.

Ying sat on the edge of the beanbag and said to Archy "I don't speak much German but thanks, that was a good race." He then took a last drink of soda and laid down on the bean bag. Then Ying heard a call on the collar phone (which over the holidays he set up to phone home as well) and he went outside exclaiming "Sorry guys got to get this." He then answered the call and it was his owner who was working on a case in Australia, him saying hey buddy, we got a problem in Sunset Plaza, get home check your email, I'll be on the first flight back when I can and with that Ying went in and said "Guys we have a problem, anybody got email connectivity here? I need to see about something."

Darien took the piece of paper Valiant handed him, quickly reading the words. "Red panda. Missing. Savage and brutal!? High reward???" He shook his head in disapproval. "I don't know Val, something tells me this story is not quite right... Call it a hunch, years of reporter's instinct if you will. It's just... off! Panda's are some of the most peaceful and bening animals. And people usually offer such high rewards for beloved family pets not bloodthirsty ferals..." He looked at the wolfdog and nodded. "Don't worry hon, I'll do what I can to get to the bottom of this! You go and do your job, try to find our 'wayward' firefox, maybe they can shed some light on this themselves."

Darien pulled out his phone from his collar. Flipping open the keyboard he launched the app to manage his blog. Dad really went all out for Christmas when he bought this brand new smartphone for him! With lightning speed he tapped out a quick blog post, warning everyone to be in the lookout for a potentially dangerous missing feral panda. However on a quick decision, he omitted the reward and the contact info, substituting his own and Valiant's phone numbers for people to call. "We'll figure out what to do once we find our missing panda! Shammy, you should call anyone you know and tell them about this." Darien flagged the post as important and uploaded it to the front page of Pet fancy! with a final tap of a virtual button. He pulled up the app for contacts. "J, K, L... Lance!" Tapping the button to call, he raised the phone to his ear and listened to the line beep as he waited for the dobie to answer.
"I watch ponies now! Ponies are cool!"

Valiant ran inside, and from there up the stairs, until he had reached Rikki's room.
"Already on it, Boss!" The black ferret said. She was tapping franticly at her keayboard. "Who do you think is keeping check of these BBS? Will let you know anything relevant ASAP. And this time, there'll be no cop to tell me where to look and where not to."
Valiant nodded. He was more useful outside, right now. "You're great, Rik!" he barked, before leaving

Shamrock nodded to Valiant's barking orders "You got it Valiant, sir! I've got just about everyone's number, I'll send out a mass text about the situation faster than you can say 'move for me'." Shamrock flipped his phone out of his collar and typed in the message about the red panda and sent it out to everyone except the new pets he just met (OOC: This would be Lance, Destiny, Dakotah, Ying, Paige and everyone Shamrock has met excluding the people from today)

As Charger walked into the P.E.T.S. clubhouse, the first thing he noticed was the poker table "Dude, you seriously have a poker table?! Oh god I think I might be in love." Charger walked over to the table and gently ran his paw over the smooth felt surface. He pulled out a deck of cards from behind his collar and laid them on the table "Anybody up for a quick game of Texas Hold 'Em?"

Dakotah got up from his amp after playing a little more bass riffs, just of misc. songs, not whole ones, but many songs that he liked. He saw that Kurt had ran out, Dakotah looked at him strangely as he ran out of the clubhouse. He walked over to Lance "What was that all about?" He asked with a little laugh. Dakotah heard Ying ask about email "Uhh yeah," Dakotah shouted to Ying "there's a computer in the corner." He said pointing at the direction and looking back at Lance to see what was up.

"Thanks Dakota, I suggest if my tip is right we all either lock ourselves in here or go home." he then jumped into the chair by the computer and accessed his email and as his owner said there was a letter about the escaped panda and at the same time his collarphone rung and he answered Shamrock about the same thing. "Hey Sham you seen this Email abut this rogue panda. You got in touch with Dari and Val, I need to get in contact with them about this if they don't already know."

"He killed my mom." There, he couldn't turn back now. "My father was a part of a small gang down in Serene City. He had just been put in a higher position, so to show his 'loyalty'..." he couldn't finish the statement. "It was good fortune that he was away so much, I guess. He never realized he had a son, until the local animal control was shoving him to the street." Paige was shivering at that point. "A week later, the newspapers had a frontpage story of his escape. The very first thing he did was come after me- and give me this-" he held up what was left of his tail, "as a warning."

"Rogue Panda?" Archimedes asked, over hearing and standing up to see what exactly they were locking themselves in about. He headed over to Ying to see just what this mess was. It couldn't be all that bad, pandas were big and docile. "What'd he do? Break out of the zoo?"

"Hey Lance!" Darien barked into the phone happily, wagging his tail unconsciously, even though the dobie wouldn't see it. "Sorry but we don't have time for a chat, there's a bit of a situation in Sunset! I don't know if you've heard but there's a missing panda in town..." He quickly explained the situation to Lance. "So now Val is going to go look for the panda, meanwhile you should call your Mom and animal control. It might be dangerous after all. Where are you right now? You should stay inside if you can, and call me or Val if you see anything! Also spread the word!" Darien tapped his chin for a second, thinking about what else he wanted to say. "Oh, and is Ying there with you by any chance? I need to talk to him as well!"
"I watch ponies now! Ponies are cool!"

Despit that being a tiresome day for a normal dog, Valiant was still an ex police dog in full shape. There was a situation, and he was determined to see it solved! He felt like in the old days, when he had to work hard for a week with barely a few hours of sleep.
Running at top speed, Valiant made it back to Pecan Building.
"Hey, Bora! You there?" He howled.
A moment later, the familiar red-tailed female hawk landed on a gargoyle. "What's the matter, landwalker? Of course I'm here: this *is* still my home. What do you want?"
The Italian Wolf quickly explained the situation and gave a full description of the creature on the loose. "We need an aerial scout, as you can imagine. You would do us a great favor, I'll make sure you're fairly compensated."
The bird showed an intrigued smile. "This is the kind of deal I like, landwalker. All right, if you promise on your honor..."
Valiant nodded.
"But if this guy tries something funny, he'll be my next lunch. And now, leave me to my job." With that, the raptor took off in a flurry of wings.

Ying turned to Archy and said It says here that he 'is a dangerous feral in route to a secure holding location. They are savage, brutal, and will attack at any provocation.' Archy you want to stay here and guard this place with the others, I need to get home to my cameras, need to see if they got anything I can help Val and Dari with." And with that he quickly left the Club House and mad his way quickly home keeping a eye out for the panda. He got home and sat at his wall of computer screens and turned his collarphone so it constantly directs to Val and Dari. "Ok Val, Dari you two need anything I'm back at my house and willing to help. I'm going to fly through the videos see if they've caught anything of this panda" He said cracking his paws.

"Feral? Protect? I'm a German-speaking geek! Not a security system!" Archimedes said to the open air. Ying was already gone by the time he had said anything. "So ein peck!"

He probably new a handful of weaknesses in a Panda, but he wasn't going to be fighting one and coming out on top. This white dog didn't fight well, he ran well and he built things.

Grey walked out his front door, carrying a few cardboard boxes "Alright, alright, I'll fix the window, after New Years, I have something important planned, please, Sylvia" Grey said to his owner, her still mad about the broken window "Okay, but if it's not fixed tomorrow, so help me..." Sylvia said as Grey closed the door.

Grey placed the boxes down on the door step and ,as he stretched out his back, Grey saw Ying run down the road "what the...? Grey said to himself, scratching his head "maybe something happened at the club house..." Grey shook his head as his thoughts turned to distraction "Maybe something bad happened...maybe not...it's too late, you need to set this up" Grey's thoughts insisted. Grey picked the boxes up and started to walk toward the park.

-What I've done? Actually i think that i have made a bad impression... and a wrong idea- Thought Kurt hidden between a malibox and some bushes, with the notebook in his hands, he was hugging it in his chest.

-Inspiration, imagination you have betrayed me again- Thought Kurt with a little laughter in his mouth... but then he reminded, he have made a ridiculous scene...

-Well, I'll stay here until the night comes... and tomorrow I'll apologize to Lance- He tought hiding between the leaves with the sad and embarrassing remind in his mind.

"Ngh," Mitch whined, rubbing his eyes.

"Hey Eris, do me another favor and try not to let me sleep past the whole night?" Mitch asked out loud, not caring if she heard or not. He stretched big and wide and yawned with a gaping mouth. Suddenly he felt something tickling that mouth. Popping his eyes open, he shook his head in dismay.

What on earth?

Try as he might, he could never get the white, powdery crystals off his head. And it was begginning to fall harder. Then it hit him.

Oh, oh oh snow! Just my luck... He grumbled. Now where to sleep? Looking at Eris's home, he just now noticed the back porch.

Perfect! It'll be just like, back home, he thought fondly. He began to walk towards it, when he suddenly thought of something. Picking up his rake, he scrawled in it 'Mitch's Rake Now'. He layed it back down on the ground, and stretched again. He made his way to the porch, and underneath. Seeing was no problem for him, he made his way all the way to the back. Much to his surprise, he found a missing brick in the foundation.

Huh, I'll have to tell Eris about that.

Then the warmth from it called him to explore, and he obliged. The warmth led him to the center of the house near a support pillar. Tired and exhausted now, he cleared away some dirt for a small nest. Then he curled up as tight as he could get, and, using his tail as a blanket, closed his eyes, and softly went asleep.

Yeah, just like home. He thought smiling.

(ooc: can be retconned to just a flight of stairs if you didn't have a porch in mind ctcmjh. Also, my last post until monday/tuesday. Also, theblackcateyes, what leaves? It's dead mid-winter! :))

Silence.

Destiny was gaping at Paige, but she wasn't seeing him. She looked at his tail, but it didn't make sense. Her wide eyes finally focused on him, seeing him. Her next move was spinning in what used to be a second-nature 360. Destiny wasn't expecting to see anything, but she couldn't just stand there and gape all day long. "Oh...Paige...you never said anything..." She pulled him into a hug, offering her friendship and protection. "At least it was just your tail. You don't really need it anyway," she gave him a shaky smile.
