You're Not My Type: Myers-Briggs

Post by Dissension »

For the uninitiated, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a personality assessment that can be used to learn more about yourself and others. I thought it'd be interesting for people to take the assessment and share their results (in the form of a link to their personality type's page) here (so we can get to know each other better).

[Assessment]

[Personality Profiles]

FYI, I'm classified as INFJ.

You are a protector! I am a scientist! INTJ!

This has always been my favorite personality test. I think it does the best job fitting people into categories without losing too much information. I read what it says about people and I think "that sounds a ton like that person!" Obviously there are more than 16 different people in the world, but for a low-resolution test like this, it's really accurate.

I got ENFJ, I am a giver!

... Although I actually consider myself a protector too, but I guess I might not really be effective at protecting stuff.

Hmm, I got INTJ. Though the last two were pretty weak preferences, and there is some stuff on the INFP page that definitely applies to me.

EDIT - Is this really accurate? These pages are so generic seeming, I think natal charts are probably more specific and accurate. :P

I think it is as accurate as a test with 16 results can be, which probably isn't very accurate.

My result is surprisingly accurate though, except for some minor details. The majority of the other results doesn't really apply that much to me either.

Wow, that's fairly accurate for me. (edit: or so I thought ;) ) Though it's kind of heavy on the "greater good" stuff. I have a good deal of that, but not to the extent they seem to imply :P

Edit: But I also have a lot of the INFJ as well.
Edit2: Actually, having read over it again, I think I am definitely INFJ
Edit3: But then again, I'm really big on Perception rather than judgment, so... I don't know

It seems I'm ISTP, the mechanic.

You know I think that does make sense to me. It doesn't suit me perfectly, but it's a fair definition.

INFJ - The Protectors

Introverted - 78 Intuitive - 50 Feeling - 25 Judging - 22

Problem is.....I am a bit to much of a wimp to protect anybody. So I think it may be a bit off......

Diss, you should make this a poll, it would be easier to gauge how the responses are stacking up against each other.

But from a quick survey myself we have quite a saturation of INTJ

You know, for being such a rare type, us INTJ's are fairly common here.

And yes, Evil Mastermind does sound like a nice description, Sleet. Let's go with that one...

We attract a very different type here than an accurate cross-section of the world. I don't see a major skewing as particularly surprising.

Maybe it's why I can get along with so many people here. *hugs everyone*

INTJ, eh? Looks like I got the same one as Sleet. And... a lot of people, actually. Huh. I wonder why that is...

I also wonder if taking the test multiple times would result in a fluctuation of scores. On the "Judging" section, I got a score of 1, which sort of puts me on the border. Maybe I'll try again a few times, then take the average.
