Kaylee looked up and noticed the sign for the analysis lab. That must be it! she thought as she got up from her chair and walked into it.

Summer glanced to the side as she saw Dale's stretcher pass by Parker's hospital room door. "Dale?" She looked at Parker. "Parker, what happened?" she asked the Border Collie. She was sure he didn't know what was going on but she knew he was the only one in the room she felt she could ask.

((No Addison can't...as per what Tha Housedog told me.))

Parker, without giving it too much thought, answered, "He bled out." He was staring at the doorway, as if he expected something else to go whizzing by, and surely enough, Kaylee happened to run by on her way to the analysis lab.

Summer sighed as she shook her head "Oh, of course you wouldn't kn-" she stopped suddenly before turning to the Border Collie, not even noticing Kaylee running past. "He what?! But...how...how do you know...you've been here and it just happened?!" The Dalmatian mix held her head as she looked at Addison before back to Parker. Addison couldn't have told him since she was here with him the whole time...and she couldn't have beaten the ambulance here. "I need to sit down."

The deep wounds on his paws were the most obvious wound, all other ailments were internal. Despite the jarring of the stretcher, Dale made no noises, not even a groan, which was not a good sign.

Summer walked over to a chair beside the hospital bed, pulling one up for Addison beside the first. "Well, I don't have anything better to do...or rather, I think this is more important than anything right now, so care to explain, Parker?" she asked him with a look that said, she'd know if he was lying.

"Truth is, I watched it happen to him. The demon that has him by the throat did it to him right before my eyes." Parker was filled to the brim with regret, and started gradually looking down, his ears flattened against his head.

Janus chuckled. "Oh, I believe you then. You are small, but you look a real toughie."
"Yes!" Jasper added. "Better watch out, dark Janus: The mighty Darren is watching over me now!" this brought out a laugh from the both of them.
Janus stood up. "Well, time to go to the park! I won't spend another daytime closed in this place. NO OFFENSE MEANT, MOM!" He added with a shout toward the study.
"None taken. Go have have fun."
Janus took Jasper by his paws and pulled him up. "C'mon, mate. Time to going scandalous. Darren, you with us?"

Rage...insults...pain... Those words echoed throughout Kaylee's mind as she raced to the analysis lab. Looking up, she saw a sign that said:

She rounded the corner and ran straight into the lab.

At that moment, the stretcher was being pulled out of the lab. "Sorry, miss," one of the nurses said hurriedly. His conditions are aggravating, no time for further analyses. We're carrying Dale to OR 2. You may follow us until we enter."

"Nngh... a'right," Kaylee said, following the stretcher. As she ran to keep up with the humans' pace, she formulated a plan: maybe she could cut her finger and rub that on Dale?

"It is a good plan. Do so." Hubert's voice wasn't hurried or commanding. It was rather like a brother's comforting his sister over a doubt.

Addison took the seat next to Summer, curiosity taking over her annoyance. "The...what...that's so horrible!" She said sincerely. "Why did a demon want Dale?" she wanted to ask many more questions, but she could tell Parker was upset, so she held them back.

Hubert appeared on her right shoulder. "Think of him as a bully. Demons do their misdeeds for the fun of it, they enjoy to see nice pets like you and your friends crying. It is in their nature. That is why one such as me is here, to help you all find the strength to fight the mean creature and to watch over you." He nuzzled her cheek.

Dale's eyes shot open, and his whole body tensed up, his back arched up off the stretcher as his claws dug into the thick fabric, blood started coming out of his mouth into the small breathing apparatus positioned on his face as he lookd aroundnfrantically, suddenly rejuvenated with life.

Addison petted Hubert's head as she took in what he said. "Oh." She pouted; despite not really knowing Dale, she still felt sympathy for him. "Well, I'm glad we have you to help us out," she grinned at Hubert.

Summer listened intently to Parker's explanation, noticing a change in behavior of the kitten seated beside her. She turned toward the young cat. "Addison, are you okay?" Concern was showing in the Dalmatian-mix's eyes as she placed a paw on her shoulder. She looked at Parker as if looking for reassurance, a bit surprised that he wasn't reacting the same way she was toward the feline's unusual behavior.

Parker was at first taken aback by Summer's reaction, and then he realized that she couldn't see Hubert. He facepalmed and got up, making sure that Summer would notice his back had healed. He walked over to the door and shut it, then sat on his bed. "Looks like I need to explain some things. Hubert!"

Summer jumped up out of her chair as Parker got up from the bed but relaxed once she saw that it seemed like the Border Collies back was seemingly healed already. She suddenly turned her head to the side in confusion as he walked over to the door of the hospital room. "Parker!" she nearly shouted before lowering her voice, realizing she was in a hospital. "Parker...your back...how?" she asked before Parker spoke and called out the name Hubert, causing her to look at Parker with even more confusion. She looked back at Addison as if she might have an answer.

This time, the spiritual entity manifested in an anthropomorphic shape, all dressed up like a perfect Victorian gentleman, complete with monocle and top hat.
Hubert bowed to Summer and tipped his hat. "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, madame."

They had reached the OR. The nurse pushed gently Kaylee away from the stretcher. "The doctors will take care of him, dear. Now please, wait here."
As the stretcher was brought inside the room, Hubert said, "The struggle has started. Your blood is acting like a balm against a nasty infection. In a way, there *is* a physical contact between the two of you, but now comes the difficult part, your true test.
"Kaylee, now sit down. Sit down and focus. Abandon your fears, your anguish, every negative emotion generated by your love for Dale. Now you are his beacon of hope. He is lost, afraid, he believes he has no one to care for him. He is listening to the dark and seductive voice of the Trickster, and in doing so he is proceeding toward his eternal demise.

Hubert's voice turned into an hypnotic chant, so soothing... "Imagine you are talking with him. Close your eyes, relax. Focus on him and yourself in the middle of a meadow. It's springtime, the sky is clear, the flowers smell good and birds are chirping happily.
"You and Dale are sitting under a tree. You are with him, holding his hands. He is the one you want to love and protect. You are happy to stay with him, right? So talk to him..."

Kaylee did her best to imagine her surroundings as the Dragon had described them. Letting herself slump against the wall, she internalized a conversation with Dale in the happiest setting she had been provided. The Bengali cat was no artist, but that would certainly get the job done. Her imagination was allowed to run free, and she was sitting with Dale, her paw in his, both of them relaxed against a tree, the two of them just talking and enjoying the natural beauty of the landscape that she had provided. A soothing wind also blew, making the trees and grass dance for them.
"Dale, honey, I'm here for ya. I'll always be here when ya need me, and even when ya don't." She said, giving her best comforting smile. Kaylee kissed Dale on the cheek warmly and sweetly.

inside Dale's mind, a trapped monster punched the "wall" which trapped him seemingly endlessly. "This isn't supposed to happen... this isn't what i wanted." a cloud of smoke engulfed the figure, as he was soon transported to the perfect world created in Kaylee's mind. He growled in anger. "Why are you HAPPY?" he said to himself, because she couldn't hear him at the moment, as he did not want her to. his angered frown slowly transformed into a sleek grin. "Lets see how you feel about this..." and with another puff of black fire, he was in Dales Brain.
He walked slowly over to the nearest black "wall" and pushed a button which didn't seem to be there a few seconds ago. the faint crunch of his previous "memory" broken on the floor. Over the time of a few seconds, a pulsating black cube emerged from the glossy black wall.
The figure held out his paw, and the pieces on the floor began to move, and in an instant they all jumped to his paw and formed back into a cube. The figure chuckled and placed the newly-formed cube into the slot which the first one emerged.

Dale blinked a few time, looking around at the beautiful scene. "Whe-where am i?" he brushed off her kiss and stood up, giving a confused stare. "Who are you?"

Kaylee put her paws on her chest, insulted. She already felt like crying just at that, but she wouldn't let that happen; she had to be strong for Dale. Has he lost more of his memory?... Has he forgotten me?... No, I've gotta keep tryin', no matter what! "Dale, I'm Kaylee, your girlfriend. Don't ya remember?"

Do as I say, please: give him a drop of your blood. Tie a vital bond with him, so that he can count on your force as well against this evil entity."

Inside Addison's mind, Hubert spoke with the tone of a friend. "Addison, little one. Do you remember the bully I have talked to you about? Would you please do something to shoo him away from por Dale?"

"Whoa!" Summer exclaimed, nearly jumping at the sudden appearance of a strange looking animal. She clutched her chest and panted as he bowed to her. After she'd calmed down she bowed back, still looking nervously at Parker and Addison. "Uh...you too, I suppose." The day seemed to be going so well for her and all of a sudden, everything was, once again, suddenly more complicated.

Summer shook her head, thinking she was going crazy. Great...now I'm hearing voices? She recognized it as the voice coming from the entity that stood before her. The Dalmatian mix wasn't sure what was going on, but she knew Parker had gotten involved and she didn't like it. She walked up to the dragon and tried poking his chest with her clawed finger, threateningly, but it just passed through him. She blinked in surprise then shook a fist in front of the dragon's face. "Listen here...uh, Hubert..." she started with a growl. "...why should I believe anything you say? I don't know what you did to Parker to allow himself to get mixed up in this trial...but if anything happens to him because of it..." She shook her head quickly and looked at him in surprise as she realized what he had said. "Wait... Betrothed?!"

Now was as good a time as any! Parker moved and took Summer's paws in his own. "You're not crazy. Everything you've seen today is real, including Hubert. Summer, I love you. And I need you. Do you love me back?" He asked, almost in a whisper. He was anxiously awaiting an answer.

Kaylee hugged Dale as tightly as she could, refusing to let him go. "I'm here! I'm Kaylee, your girlfriend! Dale, I love you! Please, you've gotta remember me!" She began to tear up. In almost a whisper, she pleaded one more time, "Please..."

Summer turned away from the apparition as Parker took her paw. She blushed slightly as she quickly looked at the Border Collie relaxing as she met his gaze. As Parker explained, she at first gave a skeptical look but was blushing by the time he'd finished. She believed him...not having a reason for doubt. "Y-yes, Parker...I love you," she replied, looking into the Border Collie's eyes as she grabbed his other paw with hers. "...you know I do." She glared over at the dragon dressed in Victorian style clothing and sighed as she shook her head. "I must be out of my mind..." she muttered to herself before biting her finger hard enough to draw blood. A drop of the crimson liquid appeared on the tip of the Dalmatian mix's finger where she'd bit herself. "Okay, now what?" she asked the dragon.

Dale fought to get the cat off of him, but it seemed her grip was too strong. "What? no-. i- .. this isn't.." and all at once he stopped struggling, and instead embraced her in his arms. "Kaylee.."

Not far from there, the figure of Dale's mind was enraged. "That dang dragon has interfered for the last time!" And with a giant explosion of black, he was gone.

"Do ya remember?" she asked, as she started to purr when Dale embraced her back. She was instantly relieved to see at least some acknowledgement; maybe what she had done had worked, and that was all she wanted.

' He is out with his friend, probably at the park Mimzy replied
