I think.
Maybe.
No joke.

Here, the letter grades are just for assessing your general ability. Which is why we don't have an F, because it's not F for Fail here. D and E are both failing grades in year 11 and 12. In year 10 and below there is not really such a thing as a fail. That is, I literally got 0% on Geography two years ago and by all means 'passed' it.

Also we kind of get used to the A-E letter system. In years 11 and 12, finishing them is a case of sink-or-swim. There is absolutely no distinction made between the bottom C student and the top A student (that's where TER and stuff like that comes in, but that's a different story for a different day, kiddos). Despite the pass/fail situation, we tend to still be given letter grades because we're just used to them. An F is considered an 'American Thing' here.
I was going to make a joke but then I did.

That's another thing I found funny. Europeans use "Year" and we use "Grade". I used to play GMOD with some Brit kid, and he was ALWAYS talking about school. And every time he mentioned it he'd be like, "So, tuhdae wuhs a gewd wuhn, yup. I beat up some kid in yeauh 6, and bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla."

Australians use years.

My sole experience with the UK school system has been "O yea Ei'm en 6th fouhm maisehf end Ei huv ah li'l sistuh en P6 end ah li'l brudduh hew juss goh 'es GSCE"

I haven't had much experience with it, to be fair

The british gathered up all of their criminals, put them on boats, an shipped them to Australia, to colonize the place..

I woke up at 9:00 P.M.; I'm not sure whether I'll go to bed in a few minutes or stay up all day and try to get some sleep after 26 or 27 hours. Not my longest without sleep by any stretch, but not something I like to do.
