No offense, but a bass guitar with more than 4 strings is just dumb. The higher strings sound like a guitar. It's not bass-like at all.
My five string bass has a low B string, actually. Not a high string. I don't need to retune to play notes such as low D, so it really comes in handy.
I agree about the high strings, though. That's why I don't have six. After a while the neck gets huge and all you get is something the high frets can do just fine. The exception I make is for weird genres like jazz fusion that often feature crazy bass solos, where that high string is often justified.

I have 6 gigs of music, for the record.
Whenever I leave the house I take my MP3 player with me. When I play it, it's usually in the car or in somebody else's car, or house.
Also, 6 gigs of music Sleet?! What in the world is that?

Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.

It's not like I'm not consistently acquiring more, if you looked I have 300 albums on my wishlist, and I have listened to albums I really liked via Grooveshark but have not downloaded yet. Plus, my laptop's hard drive space isn't infinite; I have 4.59G left, and that's with probably at least 100 albums on a disc and not on my computer. In fact, taken all together it's probably nearing 40-50G anyway, which is at least more than half of 70.

why would i be offended, i don't even play bass anymore let alone care what other people think of bass-related stuff
i have about 50 gb of music on my computer, and about ten albums that i haven't put on my computer yet (which now I can't, since my cd drive broke and i can't be bothered getting it fixed)
i haven't found anything i really really feel the need to get lately anyway

We see eye-to-eye perfectly on this subject.
I also use my iPod for my photography, contacts (ya know, if I ever lost my phone or got it taken away), some movies, and a World Clock for those randon instances. xD
@Dub- If you can, aim for an iPod. They have so many nifty little features, it is crazy! =D

I really like weird stuff. Not just music but in general. Even if something is not something I would want to listen to regularly it's usually at least intriguing to listen to once.

I've only really listened to music seriously for about five years now, and all my music is legal. So I don't have more than 700-something songs.

Same here, weird stuff is amazing, that's why I like Tool, Pink Floyd and The Residents, sure sometimes it's weird, but I like the whole creative side of things, it's what makes different and I really like that. Also, I like that comic, lol.
Off the Air. You'll be going like this the whole time. Dakotah- S5, P7, E7, C5, I6, A6, L4
I like Shinedown. They're usually pretty aggressive. Cry for Help - Shinedown
Edit: Here's a screamy one: QWERTY - Linkin Park
From what I understand, their record company would not publish that song on Hybrid Theory.
