Re: Music.
Christmas music time is Black Friday and after. If you're not American, then you have an excuse to not follow that day. At the very earliest November 1st.
Also, best Christmas music ever: Vince Guaraldi.

Seeing them actually performing the music (not lip syncing, the actual studio recording) brings a whole new awesomeness to the song. Especially when you hear that distant "yeah" and in the video you see that it was Ringo.

The Glitch Mob - Between Two Points (feat. Swan)
Been listening to a lot of The Glitch Mob lately. Good stuff.
And for Christmas music. Trans Siberian Orchestra, so brilliant. I need to see them in concert.

Coldplay is nothing to be ashamed about.
Also, my iPod is nowhere near full. I'm pretty sure it will die before I fill it up. And considering iPods get better at a faster rate than I acquire digital music, I probably never will fill one.

This song received a lot of radio play 2 years ago, and honestly, I really enjoy this band as a whole.

Chevelle - I Get It
The video is strange and slightly suggestive, but I like the song.
Edit: Chevelle - The Red
I just realized that Chevelle's music videos make very little sense sometimes.
Edit 2: And, while I'm at it, here's a little Three Days Grace.
Three Days Grace - Break
It's a whistle, I've seen them live.

That happens in every single Doors video. They focus on only Jim Morrison and totally ignore Robby and Ray... I mean sure, Morrison was amazing, but the others contributed just as much as he did and he rarely ever plays an instrument.Ebly wrote:but really, wow it's so surprising that music videos tend to focus on the vocalistSleet wrote:...Way to ruin my point.

I've been listening to a lot of Linkin Park's new album, and the more I listed to it, the more I like it. With Minutes to Midnight I was so caught off by the difference in style that it took like 2 years before I started to like the album. But this one I kinda liked it at first, and now I really like it.
Also, All That Remains's new album is also awesome.

Have you ever felt the joy of finding out about a great band that's just starting out largely on your own? I have.
This is that band: http://www.myspace.com/calansho
It was 4 years ago, but they're still really good.

Pretty much the same here. I sort of had to force myself to listen to the entirety of Minutes to Midnight, and A Thousand Suns took a lot less time to grow on me.Senator_Sunburst wrote:I've been listening to a lot of Linkin Park's new album, and the more I listed to it, the more I like it. Pink's new single released 4th Oct
She still sounds like Pink of course, but I can't help but agree with her - where's the rock n roll? I still like her personality and her usual message but this latest song seems to be a real disappointment compared to her other stuff.

Holy crap is this song ever a blatant example of trend hopping. Your style isn't meant for the clubs, honey.Ebly wrote:Pink's new single released 4th Oct

Re: Music.
I understand what you are saying but, after hearing ten people play "The Real Slim Shady" for a five hour bus ride, I'm sure you can see how I could develop a dislike for the music. I am one of those individuals that find hearing song repetitivly annoys me. I can listen to it for some time but eventually it wears thin and pushs my usually calm mind to anger, even insanity in some cases.Sleet wrote:From my experiences, if you dislike a genre just because of the kinds of people who listen to it, you've got nothing left to like but classical music. Then again, pompous elitists... So, basically every genre has its own type of unpleasant fans; the trick is to ignore them and avoid being like them when you enjoy a genre. I love metal but that doesn't mean I'm not the nonviolent prude I am. Hate the fans, not the music.
Oh and I was on the bus because someone quite litterally picked me up and dragged me to a party in another town. To a Rap party...I wasn't really a big fan of Rap music before the party but with how events and the song choice proceeded I found I had gained a true dislike for the genre.

Re: Music.
I wouldn't even say Linkin Park's old stuff was "much better." I think I like some of it as a whole more, but it's really just different. It's just difficult to compare. I'm trying, but I also am now finding that I'm still really tired of Hybrid Theory, so it's being difficult to listen to.
This must have happened like a decade ago. Why in the world would anybody play that song for five hours now a-days?Haru Totetsu wrote: I understand what you are saying but, after hearing ten people play "The Real Slim Shady" for a five hour bus ride, I'm sure you can see how I could develop a dislike for the music.
This makes no sense to me. I can see disliking all the songs you heard, or perhaps if the songs were of the same subgenre maybe you'd come to dislike the sub-genre, but the entire genre of rap is ridiculous.Oh and I was on the bus because someone quite litterally picked me up and dragged me to a party in another town.
