NaNoWriMo again dudes
Guess what my planned novel this year is, guess. Guess!
Okay I'll tell you. It is called Housepets! An Infinitesimally Brief History of the World and it will be presented by Sabrina. Basically because I'm not allowed to move much outside the boundaries of the neighborhood without people getting mad.

Re: NaNoWriMo again dudes
If word count weren't important, you could've made it even shorter by having Daisy deliver the tale.

Re: NaNoWriMo again dudes
That doesn't have to be short. If I were the type willing to go through a ridiculous amount of work for a cheap joke, I would edit a shot from The Shining to show the paper with "Hi I'm Daisy!" written over and over in different formatting and post it here.
That or I'd be a webcomic artist. Hey-o!
Don't kill me I'm joking.

Eh, not really. I think my point was lost when I clicked the "submit" button.
Anyways, I'm going to try again this year and write my own novel for NaNoWriMo.

National Novel Writing Month, also known as November. Participants try to write a full-length novel (10,000 or more words) before the end of the month.

I might do it again this year. I mean... I had a blast last year. but man was it insane. Hrm. We'll see... We'll see.
@Tha Housedog: Well, you don't need a lot, and it's still fun to just try it. even if you lose you'll come away with a lot. I think you should at least try. But that's just my opinion.

Re: NaNoWriMo again dudes
You write a novel. It cannot have any of the 50,000 words written before November starts (but you can outline) and ideally you start a new project specifically for the competition instead of adding onto something. Other than that, write anything.

Re: NaNoWriMo again dudes
There was a time where I wrote a "short story" (it was intended as a short story but what came out was an average lengthed novel) except I was really into it and managed something like 10 thousand words a day. I think I finished it, and instantly my computer got a million viruses and I had to reformat, which lost me the story. I was so sad.

Re: NaNoWriMo again dudes
Yep, Last year was my first one. wrote about a 13 year old kid that runs around trying to become a part of a galactic vigilante group. and in the process a ton of crazy things happen.
like a space dinosaur police man crashing into Jupiter along with a make-shift ship filled with rebellious Orangutans.
or wandering into a underground city with two opposite sides. the Unicorns and the Werewolves. and they have to find the extremely extravagant leader of the group which lead them even DEEPER into the mega-city planet into a net-work of tunnels where mole-people lived and were being terrorized by escaped spiders from the silk farms.
the spiders... of course. had someone they wanted.
so they ran off with the moles throwing them a party and being all "yay happy, you're awesome! thank you!" and almost got servilely injured by the spiders, until they had to cross a stone bridge over a active hot-spot for volcanic activity. they almost all maid it until the main character almost burnt his foot off. and they escaped with a (somewhat) successful save-the-day act.
takes a breath yeah. NanoWriMo. you write by the seat of your pants.

This sounds like something that I would enjoy trying if I didn't know I would fail hard. 50,000 words is a lot for me.

Re: NaNoWriMo again dudes
I have an idea for you.
Write something so surreal and postmodern that the word count is almost impossible to quantify, causing great debate over the eligibility of your novel. Then you can be all snobby and pretentious and say that the debate itself is the true body of the work you were trying to create. And then get disqualified because the debate is under 50,000 words.

Re: NaNoWriMo again dudes
It's a shame November is pretty consistently a busy month here, it would be fun to do.
Though to be fair, I wouldn't want to write that much in a month. Somehow, 1667 words a day isn't too much, but 11667 a week is. Yes i know that makes no sense.
(1.1574 words per minute?)

I was going to make a joke but then I did.
Re: NaNoWriMo again dudes
I submit The Great Gatsby at the end of the month with "F. Scott Fitzgerald" crossed out and replaced by "Liam".
