Bravo for sure. Echo's not going to do anything TOO bad on his own. If anything mischievous is going to happen, we want to be the ones doing it. :)

Gosh darn you guys, you're so evenly split on every choice! Even the ones that have more than two options! I can't put my opinion on it or make a "default" one cause A: That'd be cheating and B: All routes are equally as likely and important! I'm supposed to be the torn one here! :P

Welp, time to leave it to good ol' RNG! Doin' it by a coin flip! Heads for Bravo and Tails for Echo. My result was 2/3 flips for Heads!

Also in the time I spent waiting for you to uneven the score, I made these little banners to indicate a character change so the game looks a bit more stylish, and less intimidating with all this text.

The two of you began standing just outside the door like you where told. Now all there was to do was wait... some more.

Bravo tried his best to look patient and focused, but his curiosity was only growing more and more by the second.

What will you do? (Free roam)

Ask Echo if he remembers a painting hanging in the hallway. (Also, I love how Bravo is waging his tail while standing at attention! It's so adorable!)

I'm with Tales and FancyHat on this one.

There's also an unshaded bulb hanging from the ceiling, presumably as the light source in the hallway. The fact it's unshaded is suspicious to me, so let's examine that, too.

Examine missing painting. The purple pot is too close to the head of the stairs. Their parents might think they're trying to sneak a peek.

I don't think it would be appropriate to post it here, but I made a fan-art pixel-art of Charlie. I am posting it in the art thread though...

What is with that missing painting? Also, any chance that their parents are more lower class? The condition of the house is kinda suggesting that to me.

Wow, that's awesome Tales! Good job! I honestly wasn't expecting fan art, or at least not this soon, that was actually very flattering. Thank you very much! :D

You look at the hallway walls, you've been doing this every now and then as you pass through. The house has always been old, but as of lately things seem to be looking worse. Mom and Dad haven't bothered to mention the walls...

Image

After scanning the walls a bit, you can't help but notice the obviously clean portion of the wall where a painting used to be. You hadn't thought about it until now.

Bravo: Hey, I could have sworn there was a painting her for the longest time. Where'd that go?

Echo: Oh, right, you were hanging out by the creek around that day. Well, you know how Charlie's always been a bit... clumsy right?

Bravo: Yeaaaah, that's why we casted him as Palpatine, so he couldn't swing anything around and brake something. Thank Dog he ended up loving the role so much...

Echo: Well, he noticed Mom n' Dad have been a bit stressed out lately, so he thought he'd do some house work to give them a bit of relief. Unfortunately when he started dusting the painting, he did it a BIT to hard, and the frame KIND OF got completely totaled. Mom got really, REALLY mad at him. I don't know why, she never said why, and I was too scared to ask. Mom might have planned on selling it? A lot of stuff seems to just kinda disappears... or is destroyed by Charlie's "helping".
Naro Rivers wrote:There's also an unshaded bulb hanging from the ceiling, presumably as the light source in the hallway. The fact it's unshaded is suspicious to me, so let's examine that, too.

After Echo was done explaining, your eyes wander over to the light bulb dangling from the ceiling. There's no light coming from it, all the light in the hallway is coming from downstairs.

Bravo: Huh? The light bulb's out AGAIN? Didn't Dad just replace that a few days ago?

Echo: Yeah, that is a bit weird. It can't be a power outage, maybe it was just a bad bulb?
D-Rock wrote:The purple pot is too close to the head of the stairs. Their parents might think they're trying to sneak a peek.
You start walking over to the purple pot to examine it...

Image

Suddenly, Echo snapped at you with a quiet, but assertive whisper yell:

Echo: BRAVO! What the HECK did Charlie JUST get done talking to you about?!

It's not often you hear Echo yell, or even get mad for that matter, you are caught completely off guard (even with how quiet he was)

1. I was just going to check the pot over there!
2. What's up with you???

Now you guys are getting the hang of it! You're being incredibly observant :D

Option one: "I was just going to check the pot over there!" in a whisper so Bravo's voice doesn't carry downstairs.

Whoops! Hold on, I'm trying to fix the colo(u)r!

4 years of practice with digital art (as the animator of HP! Fanimated and the author of Cheetah Kid! I kinda have to be pretty quick) and also I switched to making the art on my old, overheat-proned laptop. It doesn't stay alive for very long but these drawings are just small enough for me to get done before it does that (and if my air conditioning is on it stays on for QUITE a while. Can't do anything complicated like animating or 3D modeling, but drawing isn't too stressful on the laptop so long as I don't make it to complex with layers and whatnot.

Talk: "I was just going to check the pot over there!" In a whisper of course. This answer doesn't seem as "one-edge" as the second. The second also seems like Bravo assumes that Echo would be okay with, or even follow, going downstairs and going against Charlie's trust.

I honestly wasn't expecting anyone to be clever enough to ask to whisper in response, that was a really good catch

Image

Bravo: I was just gonna check on the pot over there, no need for alarm, right?

Echo: You mean to tell me you need to walk all the way over to the pot you see every day in front of the stairs that Mom and Dad might CLEARLY see you from... just to look at it?

Bravo: Alright, alright, I get it! I won't go right up to it, but I'm still gonna check it out from here. It's kinda hard to see stuff from far away...

Echo: Fine, just make sure you're over here when Charlie calls us in. He's had it bad enough these past few months, don't give em' another reason to feel disappointed.

Image

You get close enough to get a better look at the pot without going beyond the wall to the stairwell. It has a rather fancy floral design to it. Though with how things are at the moment, you don't expect it to be around much longer.

Though now that you're here, you think you can hear muffled talking coming from somewhere. Mom and Dad perhaps?

Anything else you would like to do while you wait outside?

I walk back over to echo and ask him if he thinks there's anything we can do for mom and pop's. :( Perhaps we could do some pet-work?

(OOC: This is a really depressing home... hopefully something other than poverty at every turn? It's starting to get to me... :( )

Alright, let's keep things as inconspicuous as possible. take a few steps back, but be as silent as possible to make out the words as best they can. Basically, in the middle of the hall. That way, if they hear their parents, they can go back to in front of their room, and if Charlie calls, they can hear him to head back.
