I don't really watch that sort of cartoon...
I suppose probably the film adaptation of Watership Down. It's not exactly a kids story. "The Plague Dogs" is another good non-kids animated film.

i wouldn't really consider those the same type of cartoon, now that said, i have watched Plague Dogs, and i am very impressed and applaud the animation greatly (drawing every panel in THAT MUCH DETAIL??? WOW)and have one of the scenes as the background for my cell phone.
