Second Life (don't hurt me)

Post by bixlow »

Ok, here I go...
I play Second Life, and I want other people to try it...
Before I go any further, I understand it's not for everyone, and that it's not perfect.
But I like it anyway...

Second Life is a virtual world made entirely by the players. It is really really hard to explain in words so I thought I would post some info about it and answer some questions people have about it.

Yup, I (technically) work for a SL design company, and modding avatars makes for good practice
I generally work from Curious Inc. and Chimera Industries, since they offer a wide variety of free quality avatars

I'm sorry.... :(

I was mostly commenting on two things: 1) they have no bodies, and 2) other than fur color, they look identical.

Anyway, I didn't say they looked BAD--just that they don't look like Honey and Vanilla. If you hadn't told me that was them I honestly wouldn't have known.

I LIKE them, and I admit I don't know what it took to make them--but I just don't recognize them as my characters. And maybe that's the best you could have done with the program you had to work with, I really don't know. But I almost don't even know which is supposed to be which....

Funny story behind that avatar, it (plus a ton of others by the same guy) was once for sale, till the guy who made it realised that other people were making really bad quality avatars, and charging more for them... so he decided to make every one of his products free... Yay...
Because of that, sellers had to drastically up the quality of their work and lower their prices

I play SL a LOOOONG time ago....

And by long time ago I mean:
When casinos were allowed,
When there was only one continent (I remember when the introduced all the snow sims, it was awesome),
Before the teen grid (I was like 16 when I joined),
WAYYY Before flexi-prims and sculpties.. we actually had to make things with all primitives!
When everything on the search list wasn't "IDLE FOR CASH!" or surveys or other crud.

I miss those days... especially the casinos... In my opinion SL's gone down the toilet since then, it seems to me to be all about the money instead of the socializing. Though I could be wrong. I haven't been on in a while and I'm downloading it now! We'll have to hang out and you can show me what's happenin' nowadays :P

In fact, SL is what introduced me to the furry fandom, so I have it to thank for my corruption today :3

BTW I'm Raemus Patel
